May 2014 Discout Watch

Thank you for your responses farrahalex76 and mickeystoontown! I think we will go ahead and make reservation and hope for the best.

You might have a pin code so make sure you ask them to check. I keep checking my inbox like a crazy woman hoping to get one but nothing yet.

You are very welcome! I'm fairly sure that there will be something offered in May but we will probably have to wait a while before we know what or if there will be.

Just keep your eyes here on the Disboards.....someone here will post when they hear something or when there's a special offer posted on the Disney site.

In the meantime, happy planning! Even after 19 trips to Disney and one Disney cruise, I still get excited about planning our trips.

Reservation booked :thumbsup2

Not gonna lie, Deluxe Resort without a pin/discount is pretty crazy but with a 5 and 2 year old you can't really beat being at a monorail resort. Definitely looking forward to the time when they're a little older and we don't have to pay up.

For now the fun begins trying to figure out dining, events etc. This will complete our monorail resorts (first GF, then Poly and now CR). My two year old son loves trains so I'm sure he'll be in heaven watching the monorail go through the resort!

There is a pin out for this time frame you should call and ask if you have a pin attached to your account.

Thanks - not sure what a pin is, but would love to find out if we have a discount we don't know about!

We booked our trip last year through a Disney travel agent, so she did all the booking/leg-work. Who would I call and do I need an account number? Or would they be able to look with just my name?

I called today to get a quote and provide my address and email address over the phone, since I've only been doing it on the computer. Hopefully one day I will get a surprise in my inbox I have to book in the next couple of weeks to be able to book the 180 dining!

A pin is a special code that Disney Marketing sends out to people which contains a special offer. Disney's official word is that you will receive this pin by either email or snail mail. However, I know that there are those (including my mother and daughter) who had pin codes attached to their names and never get any notification.

If I were you, I'd call Disney and ask if they will check to see if you have a pin code attached to your name (or the name of anyone else in your household). If you get someone who doesn't want to check, hang up and call again. It's highly unlikely that you'll get the same operator.

Thanks for your help! I called and the operator was very nice and helpful, but I don't have any pins associated with my name right now. Will keep hoping for a nice general public discount to be announced this winter. :-)

You're welcome! Just keep an eye on the Disboards to see if anyone else reports getting a pin other than the ones that have already gone out. If they do, you might want to put in another call just to check.

Even though I finally received a pin after all these years, I am still hoping that we'll see something for May. I'm all about saving money especially since we have bumped our trip up to two whole weeks this time. My pocket book is already screaming! :lmao:

I decided to go ahead and reserve, but called first to check on a pin. Woohoo! There was one for room only that included May. I went ahead and booked at Pop, but now I'm really checking out my options.

If you are ready to reserve, try calling just to see if there is pin for you.:)

First, welcome to the Disboards!

Second, congrats on the pin code! Every year, I look around at the different resorts but we always end up at the CBR. Although, we did give FQ a try for one night last trip.

Called and got the PIN Code applied to our stay. We had to change our dates too. Now going May 24-May 30. Can anyone tell if me this is correct info.. the CM said that our stay must be entirely within the PIN Code dates. The PIN Code was good for stays through May 31. We were checking in May 30-June 4. She said we would only get the discount on the May 30-31 dates and then it was full price for the days after. That is why we changed our dates. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, room only pins are not length of stay. They are only for days listed in the promotion.

Are PINs usually treated different than general public offers? Normally, with the regular offers, you just need to check in on one of the offer dates and you get the discount for your entire stay.

I believe with both the pins and with the general public room only offers, you can only apply the discount to the exact days. I know that's how they worked for me. I was only able to use the % off on the days that fell within the dates on the pin code. I wish that it were the other way around. I'd have saved a lot more than the $386 that I saved using the pin code.

We got the pin
Wanted to go aoa cars suite with putting my 3 y/o in the room and parents out in the main area. Is the pin really only 15% for aoa.
I could get 2 rooms at pofq connecting with the 30% off and be ahead

AoA rarely has any promos or discounts and when it does they are super low like that. I've never seen anything higher than 15%. We realized, like you did, that upgrading is a better deal! We moved up to CSR since its highly likely that once promos are announced that we will save money.

I am definitely watching for an end of May discount.

My DD14 has decided to go to Disney with her Middle School Band and as long as they get approved by Disney, they'll be playing at DTD.

I'm pretty sure French Quarter only has 20% off with the pin code which is why we switched to Riverside.

I'm so excited to see that people are getting pins. I'm hoping to go late April into early May - if I can get a good enough discount to convince my DH that we can afford it :confused3. Our son (he'll be 3 in the spring) LOVES him some disney junior and its love to get an early trip in while he still does.

I don't remember reading it above, does anyone know what the stay minimums are for the offers?

Thanks.

Oh, and I'm Jen

That's good to know that there is a good chance that a discount will be offered later down the track - will definitely keep my eyes peeled!

Thanks, I am getting very excited while researching and planning for this trip even though it is still 7 months away.

We are also planning to head over to Universal/IOA (and stay onsite) for a couple of days and I wondered whether anyone knows how this will affect the Magical Express transportation back to the airport at the end of our trip? Will we need to book one more night at a WDW resort after Universal/IOA?
