It came up at $165.10 for my dates (5/23 - 5/27). My city special rate is $166.77.

Not going to change for $1.67...yet...

Why not. That $1.67 will get you almost a 1/2 gallon of gas.

I checked with Budget and my rate has gone down again. It has now dropped over half since my initial booking, for my new rate of $163 for all taxes and fees through Costco. this is for May 11-17 and dropping off at cape canaveral and includes the extra driver, Full Size Car. I am tickled pink that is now under $200.

Alamo has, part of being an insider, where the spouse (additional driver) is included in the quotes - does anybody know if Dollar has a similar program or is it extra to add a spouse / driver?

Thanks for the reminder to keep checking! I went from $181 for a economy car to $164 with a standard for our week, pick up at MCO, drop at at four points by universal!

My rate with Alamo was down by 30 dollars today. Pick up at MCO on 5/26-6/5. Full size 237 total. This was with my Insiders discount. Costco had the same rate for the full size.

Mine went down $20 today, now $217 for a full size 5/16-5/25. I had a premium reserved before, which had been the cheapest option, but today I could have standard or full. For $4 higher, I went full just for the extra luggage space.

Has anyone had success in adding a $$ off coupon to an Alamo reservation. I'm holding one for April 30-May 10th and while I have a good rate, adding a coupon would be even better. I've got a minivan for $299 total for 10 days taxes included.

Today's price on Dollar: Full Size 15/22 - 5/27 $166.77. Another $10.32 savings. That will buy a couple of twitter shots at La Cava.

So since I first booked for $198.10 on 3/3, I'm down $33.31. Not bad.

Price du jour for full size at dollar 5/22 - 5/27: $163.25. Price came up the same with and without AAA.

And I finally figured out that I can just modify my existing reservation instead of cancelling and booking a new one. That helps. Another $3.52 saved.

$141.93 total for full-size May 10-16 with Dollar city special and no codes or coupons. This is not bad but still early. I usually can find a price around $20 per day (which would be$120 total) or a little less during the lower demand time periods so I'll keep looking but have this one booked for now.

Not working for 5/3-5/12. Crazy car rental rates. I already have a similar rate from weeks ago at Dollar. Would love to book similar rate at Alamo. Still in the hunt! Thanks for your report.

I'm okay with my currently booked price but I expect the prices to go back down again; especially for the first half of May when crowds should be lower. This seems to happen every time I rent.

The only time the prices didn't drift back down for me was when I visited during a crowded spring break period.
