Are there any discounts for additional drivers through Dollar? Traveling to Phoenix in May over Memorial Day and the Dollar prices have dropped dramatically the past 2 days. Just wondering if there is any way around the $10/day extra fee. I know this thread focuses on MCO (or the surrounding area) but I always read these threads for rental car discounts. I know that if there is one out there, the DIS will know about it.

You might want to check, often additional driver is not a charge for the spouse, but for someone else, and spouses are included in the original fee.

YOu can not use the AAA with the City Special. IF you enter the AAA code the option for City Specials will not appear.

This is true... however, I got a better rate using AAA. Usually the City Special rate beats all other deals, but AAA has been holding pretty well as of late. I used Lock Low and Go with AAA and paid $133.80 all in for 5/3-5/12; including all fees... Haven't seen a better rate since (I think it was $59.86/week).... but as you know Dollar loves to bounce around.

For those of you using Dollar, is just one person doing the driving? My husband and I will both be driving, and that's why we don't usually use Dollar. Or maybe you have found a way to add the additional driver for free?

SYDCOLEMOM-I use Alamo. I also have the Alamo Insiders for additional money off. When I used other coupons, I got a much higher rate. Yesterday I had a Premium car for 192 but DH prefers a full size car.

RIGHT NOW!!!! Dollar rates dropped from an hour ago.. they are 100 dollars less a week RIGHT NOW>>>>

City special rate...midisze may 12-19 $109 including taxes
This will go away at any moment. This is the second time I found them lower after 8 pm on a weeknight.

I really hope we see a good deal soon. Right now, the best deal I have found is with dollar... May 18th to June 3rd for like $850!!!! Alamo is even more, and it has gone up in the last week.

We are looking for a Limo Service to take us from Disney Hotel to Port Canaveral and then a Rental Car Service at Port Canaveral (after our cruise) so we can go to DTD then drop the van off at Orlando International Air.

Any suggestions or codes? This is our first time renting at Disney!

Booked my car rental for May trip. Full size Dollar city special for 5/23 - 5/27. $198.10. Obviously hoping for better as the trip gets closer...

I saw that national started dropping. While still higher than what most are use to but at least it's not a thousand for a weekly rate like it had been. I got a 10 day rental for under 300 for executive aisle using my 3 free days coupons I earned.

Alamo insiders is coming down - just looked for 5/10 -5/18 and it is way down (only 191) from my original quote (240) but I have a better deal with Dollar right now so that is what I am keeping. This is for a standard car

dates of my ticker, beginning 5/28. no corporate code, used Alamo's find a deal/insider search.

did notice when I added various corporate codes the upgrade coupon disappeared for use on midsize to standard.

May 15-19 I had Dollar which was the cheapest at $156. Decided to check Alamo out of the blue and I have the same car for $85

I booked Dollar May 27-31 from Lake Buena Vista Holiday Inn (we'll be at BWV) and return to MCO. Standard at $177.00. This is the best rate I found so far. The Costco rates are higher than Dollar for my timeframe.

We had amazing luck with discount Hawaii car rentals for our Hawaii trips... Highly recommended on the trip advisor boards...
