May 2014 7 of 9 - I am a little short for a Stormtrooper..

" Quicker than you can say " Free Lucky Charms at Wal-Mart " :rotfl2: Love it So reassuring to hear that 7d isn't jerky like thunder mtn Is there ever a bad lunch at BOG ? Not in my experience You always do a great job with the selfies I can't do it :confused3 Nice for the meet with Alison & Fran however briefly always a joy
BOG never disappoints! Yes indeed. It was lovely to meet Fran.

Frozen at 95 degree F The standby line for Elsa and Anna was 300 crazy, fainting, dehydrating minutes. Lucky we had a FP+ for this. No way would I wait in line for that long. Do you want to see the definition of smug in a photograph? I don't hear you...louder...

Oh boy goofy! Last time I waited that long was when I was very young and the Pope came to England. Being from an Irish catholic family my parents took us on the pilgrimage to London to see him. He whizzed by in his Popemobile and I noted he wasn't selling ice cream the least he could do considering we waited so long. I was sent to my room that evening with no Shepard's pie for my supper. Onto Frozen.. No I am not one of those 42 year olds with an autograph book...

The games up Polly. Oh dear. All smile now...don't touch Elsa Jo or you will end up like Olaf...

Now we enjoyed being in the room because we saw the other families interact with these charming characters. I have to say they were magical. They spent a good amount of time with each person and Anna talked about riding her bike around the castle and Elsa asked us all about our Kingdom of England back home. We were very impressed even as adults who knew the score. This must have been amazing for children. We moved onto the visiting princess. I felt sorry for her. Like the supporting band for the main act. It was Aurora and she was very sweet!

Now please excuse me I would not have worn short sleeves but it was so hot. You see whilst I have been quite slight for a number of years due to my autoimmune disease I am not usually this thin! I had an awful infection over Christmas that went on for months and I nearly died. I lost a lot of weight. I have the goal from my medical team to nearly double my body weight but to get out of the 'morbidly underweight' gain too many kilos than I care to think. It's very stressful but at least Disney was a good place to score the good food! But people made hurtful comments right in front of me. As if I didn't exist. I know my arms are grim but I'm working on it. No I do not have an eating disorder. It's not just large people that get called names and talked about. Jo was getting very irate about it so I said I would just put my shirt back on but she said 'why should you'. Then there is the 'oh you lucky thing' or 'have some of mine' believe me it's as hard to gain as it is for folks to loose! We are both battling the same giant. It's a massive mountain to climb and it's not easy. I wouldn't dream of judging somebody because of their size let alone say anything! How very rude! Anyway that day after seeing that photo of signing I realised how thin I had become and I broke down and cried. But Jo kindly got me a soft serve ice cream and underneath a wonderful liberty slushy! That will be a starter for 10... On with my report... When returning to 7DMT to do the DAS return they had diamonds on the line. The ride was down again. But they gave us a paper FP good for 2 days. Happy Polly with ice cream belly ( close friends and family call me Polly ) we move out of the park and try another go at getting to the Bass Pro store once more. Oh my what an American adventure this is to be. One more mention before we leave MK. A friend told us about Frostie towels to keep cool. She even phoned MK to find where they were sold and one location was Dumbo tent. So Jo bless her heart got one. My meds and low weight put me at risk of passing out due to heat.

Bliss! We would go on to buy more of these! We both enjoyed them! Jo will kill me for saying but her time to become a mummy bear is ending and she is experiencing hot flushes lol. Imagine in that heat poor thing!

People that rude shouldn't be let out of their barns, absolute animals! What kind of horrible parents they must have had to not care about other people's feelings.

Glad you had a great interaction with the princesses. :)

I just wish that Mine Train was longer!

My heart cries that someone can be that judgmental, ignorant, & cruel :sad2: Pinkocto I know what you are saying but honestly animals are much kinder than people any day I have seen it over & over again

Just loving your trip report! We're looking forward to BOG and managed to snag an ADR for 8 of us. Can't wait. Wondering which is your favourite room there. We'll also be stating at SSR for the first time. Did you get your requests you wanted for there?

As someone who is also on the thinner side, I can't believe the comments people make. Eat, you're anorexic, if you had meat on your bones you wouldn't be cold blah blah blah. And I'm no where near underweight.

300 minutes? Very smart to FP that one. :thumbsup2 I didn't know you could FP characters. Very good info.

I can't believe how rude and ignorant people can be. I was raised with the rule:"If you have nothing positive or constructive to say, keep your mouth shut." I think that may be an important lesson for those people to learn.

I am glad that you got to ride the mine train multiple times. I love the Rose Gallery at BOG. You really lucked out that day with meeting Anna and Elsa as well. So far I have only met Anna while we were on the Magic last year and she was a lot of fun.

Corinna

You're right about that, animals are much kinder than people.

it was odd Pam. When we did the mine train with you it was shorter! I think they cut ride time down due to technical difficulties. The cars didn't swing! Try it again when we go in September :-)

well done re BOG! We love The Grandstand but we didn't get our request which was funny because we said to Pam who was joining us for a couple of days to do the same. We got The Springs and she got The Grandstand lol. But The Springs is nice to just a shame we were not all in the same building.

I would request Grandstand, The Springs or The Paddock. My least is Carousel. If you don't play golf it's the furthest from everything!

oh yes the classic eat meat lol. I bet as a vegetarian you get that a lot. Well I get you eat too much meat lol. You can'y win. Of course if I just ate a cream cake all my problems would end...

we were impressed with the Rose Gallery! Gosh we adore BOG! I like that if you don't have anything positive or constructive to say! If only people would!

After leaving MK we drove to our adventure to see the Bass Pro store following Dana's directions and our trusty SatNav. We purchased the TomTom in Walmart last year and keep it in our owners locker ( it was cheaper than renting one and we can save our favourites! ) .

It may seem strange to you American friends that Jo and I would want to go to this store. But we love to experience things we don't have in the UK. Last year we did an Airboat ride which was very cool, drove and did Spook hill, played bowling at Spiltsville and we have our eye on the drive in movie place next! How retro!

So being fans of Duck Dynasty we hoped we see some merchandise and I wanted a hunting style top. We don't have hunting in the UK. It is outlawed.

We arrived at the store. Holy cow that's no moon! It was the size of an English town lol. It was awesome! Outside it had some interesting vehicles..

I liked this

Inside the store was like a theme park for the British! Hunting section, fishing, camping. Wow! We had a good look around. The staff were super friendly. One staff member was shocked we had no hunting in the UK.

I tried on some hunting clothes...

Tried some hunting poses..

I liked the artificial gator on display. Wait did it move..

I bought a hunting style top. Jo got some nice shorts besides hunting gear this store had some nice clothes. No Duck Dynasty merch :-( but oh my those Duck commander whistles are expensive!

We headed on out and admired the big tank of bass fish. Puts Rainforest cafe to shame lol. Outside a storm had started and it was thundering. It started to rain and we don't have rain like that in the UK. I swear one drop weighed a baby elephant. I couldn't move fast with my rollator so I got soaked and then I saw the flash of lightening. Ohhh how amazing to see! It was so hot it was nice to break the humidity. We were dry before long it's so different raining in the heat! It's actually a nice feeling.

Back to the resort and rest. That night we went to Red Lobster. I had tilapia and baked potato with salad and broccoli. This is one of my favourite fish. I always go to try something else but because it is so expensive and rare on menus here I can't help myself. We laughed because going into the restaurant I asked Jo what she was in the mood for land or sea. She said one thing she didn't fancy tonight was shrimp. She then went on to order shrimp 3 ways lol.

Back to resort and watch shows and get an early night for tomorrow will be first rope drop in many years. It's Friday tomorrow and first Star Wars day of Star Wars weekend. How will I sleep? Actually soundly lol.

Looks like you had a great ride and a great lunch! I'm sorry you have to hear comments that make you feel like you must modify your behavior.

I bring small zip-locks from home, then take the washcloths from the room, get them down, freeze them, and pop them in a zip-lock to bring to the park to use as a cool-down.

Well look at you in your hunting gear I dare say you look like a " red neck " :rotfl: that's not a cruel remark I am from NY and I am affectionately known to my neighbors as " the Yankee " to me they are " the red necks " I like it & we get long well

See now I agree with you if I am going to visit someplace I am not just going to do the typical touristy things I want to go where a local would go and soak it all in Red Lobster YUM count me in The drive in movie are you talking about the Silver Moon drive in in Lakeland ? I don't live far from there I haven't been there yet to see a movie but what fond memories of childhood Are there any in the UK ?

thanks! Omg what a great idea re washcloths! That's basically all they are. DVC has the little freezer section. We are so going to do this we always have loads of ziplocks in room. I use them for snack bags :-) thank you! Great tip!

yes that's right Silver Moon :-) looks cool. No we haven't and never had drive in movies. Probably our weather and we don't have that much land. That's why we don't do DDP. We like some Disney restaurants but it's an adventure for us to dine out in Olive Garden, Lonestar etc.

Silvermoon well then that is where I propose we will finally meet one day :thumbsup2 It will be a Dis meet
off property ..something different
