May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

Good morning everyone!
So last night, Emilie asked me if we were the Magical Mayniacs, what were the people going in June called? :confused3 Well, always looking for an excuse to avoid studying, I looked on a few June boards this morning. Here's what I found:

1. didn't find any names. Sorry Emilie (although I just looked mostly on the first and last pages)

2. we are so chatty compared to the June boards - only about 20 pgs. compared to our 106!

3. I also found a great get to know you post, which I'll post in a separate post so that people can cut and paste.

Happy Easter, happy Passover, everyone!

It was me that mentioned the ice wine!! Good Memory!

Questions about wine.....purchase wine by the bottle for dinner or purchase a package?

Or, bring our own and pay the corkage fee? Not a wine snob but I have some criteria.

Laura,(not implying that you are a wine snob!!lol) Any suggestions?:scared:

Anybody planning on booking on board for next year?

We booked this cruise and our last cruise while on board. However, we probably won't book another DCL cruise for awhile. DW is getting tired of the Caribbean and would like to venture out - like Europe or Alaska.

I can't just post without giving a tip. DOH. :mic:

The great thing about booking on-board is that you only have to pay a Fully-Refundable deposit. Then, you can cancel or change up until 90 days prior to sailing. So, if you even have an inkling that you might go on DCL again in the next 1.5 years and can afford to set aside about $1000 deposit, I would highly recommend that you book a cruise on-board. Of course, by making this ressie, you get first dibs on staterooms, a 10% discount, and some OBC. My only warning is that it is sometimes hard to get the sales rep without having to wait in line. Oh, one last thing - the 10% discount (and I think the OBC) do not apply to a CAT 12 GTY.

My daughter is 4 but still has problems with potty time (sometimes). What if we send her to the Club and she has an accident? I read somewhere that they kick the kids out and don't let them back for x amount of time. Can anyone confirm if they've ever run into this? Seems a bit harsh to me. 3 weeks to go...can't wait!!

Hi and welcome to the roll call jfahome. As we like to say, the more the merrier, and it is never to late to say hello.

Sorry, I can't help you either with your question. I have to agree with another Magical Mayniac who suggested posting the question on the main board. There are a lot of helpful people there and you will probably get one or two pages of answers within the first 24 hours. :thumbsup2

Thank you, I have been searching the main board, I have had many of my questions answered there. Here's our info,
DW, DH, DD (4), and MIL. We are in cabins 2602 & 2604, so I believe we are just down the row from ZeroG. Howdy neighbor!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I need to buckle down and get the house ready for our departure; also need to get my desk at work under control. I need to spend less time day dreaming about the trip and more time working.
*
It has been great to get to know everyone before the trip. We are all really looking forward to the cruise. The kids got "baskets" today filled with supplies for the trip. I bought the shopping bags at the Disney store and used them instead of baskets.
*
I still am trying to think of something fun and a surprise for DH. We are doing a couples massage. I am really hoping to get Palo brunch ressies; they were all booked when we booked the cruise.
*
Zerog, I am in need of a launch status for June. DS and DH really want to catch a launch; we will be in Florida mid-June.
*
Still have questions about the wine package? Not certain what is going to be the best route. I am open to suggestions.

All of my Best! Lisa:wizard:

Haha!!!:lmao: None taken, in reality, I can drink just about anything if I have to!!! :rotfl:

If we drink wine at all, we will probably just buy it at the table. When it is hot, I really like to drink Margarita's, Martini's, or Beer.

Why not bring a couple of bottles that you will like and then you can enjoy them in your stateroom or bring a glass to dinner? I believe you can bring your own glass to dinner without paying a corkage...actually I know you can. Other than that....you could pay the corkage or just purchase a glass with dinner. Before I say I am not going to drink wine with dinner, I would like to see a wine list....anyone have one??? (hmmm...might have to change my mind)

I WISH I would be able to book again, I can't imagine that DH would go ahead and do that. The only time I would get him to spend the money is to book on the $99 deal and then it would probably only be if I talked him into me taking our kids and leaving him at home.

This is one of the first times I have ever been able to get DH away for more than 5 days! It is a miracle!!!:goodvibes He doesn't care if I take the kids, then he can work :scared1:

I also wanted to write that today after I fed everyone Easter dinner....I STARTED TO PACK!!!! Yup, got out the suitcases and put them up in the bedroom, started to pull stuff out and now I have NO idea as to how I am going to take all this stuff! DH's first words were...aren't we taking just one suitcase each:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:What is he thinking??? We will be gone for almost 3 weeks...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Quick Question?

Was there anyone that did NOT receive their bracelets???? Please let me know ASAP, not that I can really do anything about it. :goodvibes But my poor PM box has been taking a real hit and keeps running out of room and if I could delete all the cruise bracelet stuff I would have room! Thanks a million!

Lisa

Hi Lisa

For our cruise, no rockets/shuttles will be launched on May 2 or 9th. The Delta 4 GOES O launch, previously scheduled for April 28, has been postponed till mid-May. However, there IS a shuttle launch currently scheduled for May 12 which may be of interest for those staying in Florida after the cruise. The May 12 shuttle's mission is to upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope. This mission should receive a lot of publicity.

In June, there is an Atlas launch scheduled for June 2 and a shuttle on June 13.
