Anyone watching the Olympics?

Any comments about the scoring in gymnastics?
Do the Chinese gymnasts look 16 to you?

We leave a TV on with the Olympics. We don't watch every minute, but we'll poke our head in from time to time to see what's going on. It's really very exciting. I mean, normally I would never watch a swim meet or a beach volleyball game on television, but I'll make an exception for the Olympics. Go USA!

But I will watch NFL Football on TV! Tonite we had our Fantasy Football pre-draft meeting. This is where we vote in new rules and discuss plans for the upcoming draft. This year we are going to try something new: an auction draft. They say its the best way.. We'll see.

the fish extenders measurements are 8''x21'' for the back the pockets are 5 and one half inches by10'' when cut(to allow for the fold) I will try to get some instructions made up for those who want to make them.

Wow Zerog, Thanks for showing that to us. I havent been paying that much attention to it. I am crossing my fingers that it misses us all Well tonight is the last night here for a week. Although I might try to check in here from hubbys computer while In Vegas I hope all is well while I am gone.

We are heading away too, we leave tomorrow (Sat) morning, are heading up north into Northern Ontario to the cottage for a week of R&R..........oh and a few cocktails Hopefully we have good weather, it will be the first time in 4 years that we have been able to get all 5 of us away together!

So...........today I am packing, cleaning, packing, cleaning etc. DH wants to know how I can get things ready to go to Disney so early and yet when we go somewhere else, it is all the last minute!

Laura, have a great time at the cottage! I wish i could join you. I love water, but that's one thing we definitely don't have out here - cottages on the water! At least we finally have some summer weather, though. I hate it when the leaves turn brown before we've had any summer.

Zerog, I've been watching a bit of the Olympics over lunch - swimming and diving mostly. Haven't watched too much of the gymnastics, though, because the scoring always looks fishy to me.

yes I have been watching the olympics and I am totaly upset with the judges THEY ARE SCREWY.Too many inconsistant actions. something wrong there

Hey Charley, here is something that you can add to the fish extender dowl rods to make it look Disney. You should try this......... Its from the fish extender link #291



For the hanger I used a dowel rod that I cut the right length. I added 1 inch dowel end balls (I bought them at a craft store) that I cut slits into and put flat wood circles to make Mickey heads. Be sure your Dowel fits into the hole in the dowel end. This was a fun project, but be careful to secure your dowel ball when you are cutting them. I used my DH's vice and some of the non-slip cabinet liner to hold the ball. Then I used wood glue to secure the dowel balls and ribbon to hang the FE with.

I have read that foam circles can also be used to make the ears.

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a good weekend. We have a boy sick in our house, which has meant a lot of time in front of the tv watching the Olympics. Congratulations to Michael Phelps! That's quite an accomplishment.

Thanks, Charley. It's been a long, draggy illness. Low fever everyday since last Wednesday but no other symptoms other than not wanting to eat or do anything. Nobody else has gotten it either (knock on wood!). I kind of suspect the big mosquito bite he got last weekend, but he hasn't been sick enough to take into the doctor to see for sure. I'll be glad when it's over, though!

Good Afternoon

Well Tropical Storm Fay is about to move over us in the next hour. Its been raining slow and steady all morning. The winds are breezy/gusty - nothing stronger than an average thunderstorm. But you can tell these gusts come with some power. A tornado touched down about 50 miles south of us. The kids are going stir crazy as school was cancelled today and tomorrow.

So they say the worst is yet to come.
Signing out now while we still have power.

UPDATE: Its been raining and raining and raining all day long. Its still very breezy.
