My family-myself, DH, DS-21, DS-19 will be cruising with you all!!!! Can't wait; very excited! This will probably be our last family vacation for awhile; Sons are all grown up now!!!! Have category 6 room booked with late dining. Looking forward to meeting fellow DISers! Look for the lime green Mickey head on my door!!!!

I have a 20yo DS going with us. I was concerned about any one going in his age group.

I'm an Idol watcher too. I usually record it so I can fast forward through the comercials. I still have an hour to watch from last nights show. I really don't like the audition shows as much as when they get to Hollywood.

I'm hoping they delay the launch at least till we are on the ship. We'll be in Orlando so I don't think we'll see very much from there. Since we are using DVC points I can't rationalize driving down to the Cape a night early.

If you are not on the list above just let me know you would like to be added. If you have more than one cabin in your group please confirm that they would like to participate as well (I just didnt want to assume). Let me know when you get a cabin number confirmed.

I've also added a column to indicate celebrations (just so we can celebrate with you or wish the b-day person a happy day). So if you haven't mentioned a celebration and don't mind sharing - let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Since I've not done this before - veterans please let me know if there is anything that I'm missing.

Anyone want to take on scheduling the meets? Lillygater, you had mentioned custom lanyards a while ago, did you ever find out the specifics?

I've been reading trip reports and it seems like a lot of the groups named their group and had custom banners/logos. Anyone have any good suggestions? The best that I can do would be something like "The FKLP Tour Group" not very inspired. And although we already have a magnet designed, I'm not sure the entire group (ok the guys)are as passionate about the pie as a couple of us are.

Anyway, just a thought.

Assuming we get to go (and I'm now considering bringing a friend if my DH can't go instead of cancelling), sail date is my 32nd birthday.

As for ideas as to the group name, how along the lines of "Key Lime Pirates take on the Western Carribean." It's still not a great title, but maybe it will inspire others to think creatively...

A FE is a Fish Extender - if you go back to this post it has a link to a FE thread that really describes FE (with pics).

The Fish is a decorative item next to each cabin door that is used to hold messages for the room. The Extender is a hanging pocket(s) that some cruise groups use to drop small gifts throughout the cruise to anyone that wants to participate. Think it as a secret santa type of gift. The gifts need not be expensive or elaborate, can be something simple that is indicative of your hometown (postcard, candy, etc) or it can be something useful for the cruise (pirate tattoos, glow sticks, etc). I'm not sure I'm explaining this very well.

We've decided that anyone that would like to participate will give one gift sometime during the cruise (not a any specific time, so it will be fun to see when you get something and will be less stressful for those passing out items).

Is that as clear as mud?

The Fish Extender does sound like fun - I have heard it is a good way to walk the whole ship for some exercise...

I am still not sure what we are going to do for excursions but I am thinking you can't go wrong - lots of choice...

We are going to Caribbean Beach Resort before the cruise and then to the Hyatt at the airport after the cruise.

It is very cold here right now, I am wishing that we were somewhere warm now.

We will have two rooms particapting. I have so gotten my mom into the whole packing already, looking/thinking of FE gifts, door magnets craziness (why is there no evil laughter smiley?) (she will have to do for now, I should really PM the people in charge, hehe). I really need to get to sleep and to stop subjecting you nice people to my bad sense of humor. My plan is to buy/ make (will most likely be buy my mom a FE, I have no talent for that kind of stuff) for a surprise. So that each family can have their own.

I have no idea about the name (it is after midnight here and I have been up since 5a I think something with FKLP should be used, the use of priates is always a good thing (haha I sound like Martha Stewart) .

Oh one small happy before I drag myself off to bed. I won, I won, I won. What did I win, you ask. Only the best dress (for formal night) ever. I will be total hotness. Now let us hope that I won't have to lose too much weight. I do have a question. The two young uns' with us are males currently 7 and 8. I want to get them a tux for formal night (off of ebay of course ). My question is should I get it now or wait until closer to the actual month of castoff? I am afraid someone will get magically taller over night.

Hi all - Haven't been here since just after the New Year - boy, what I have missed!!! My kids and DH are huge space junkies - they went over the edge when I told them we may see a launch. We arrive Thurs. night and are staying at Country Inn & Suites in Port Canaveral - so I assume we will be close!
It has been snowing since dawn - we have 6 plus inches already, so I am trying to soothe the winter blues by surfing the net and dreaming about the upcoming cruise...The kids passports arrived this week so we are all set on that front. We got some cruise related material in the mail which informed us that we can book stuff on-line on March 5. Is it really a nightmare to do it? We have a large group traveling together (6 adults, 5 kids) - not sure if we will do any shore excursions, or just enjoy the boat.
