Hey everyone,
Any news on our other stop?? Is it Nassau?? Do you thing if I called and requested another vote for Castaway Cay that Disney would listen???
We will load up the car early Thursday stopping on the way to the Radisson and then hopefully we can be at the pool at 9pm for a little meet.... I have 5 bottles of cabernet packed already--lol wondering if that is enough???

Hi everyone!
Dh and I are so so so excited about our cruise! Only 11 more days until we leave. :dance3:We finished our FE gifts last night and have them all packed and read to go. We are just about finished packing our clothes. DH ironed most of our clothes while I rolled them up and put them in our suit cases. Hopefully all we will need to do is spray them with wrinkle release and hang them up when we get onboard. I had my hair braided for the cruise on Saturday (it took soooo long) so all I need now is my big straw hat, a lounge chair and a fruity drink with an umbrella in it and I will be all set. :woohoo: I'm so ready for the caribbean!!!

I'm getting my hair braided too:woohoo:. I was told that it will take about 6 hours. I probably should have gotten it done this weekend because I know my head will be sore for a few days:headache:.

I wish we were flying in earlier to meet up with you all!!! Don't get too comfy together..
We fly out at 5 PM on May 15th and arrive at 11PM. We are staying at Travelodge for the night, then going back to the airport to take the shuttle.
I want to get to the port early, but also don't want to be back at the airport before 6:30 AM (remember that's 4:30 AM our time)!! I knew we should have stayed at the Hyatt!
I'm going to try to be at the Port early to meet up with you all...so if you see a Sleepy couple wandering around lost, that's us. I hope we adjust quick to the time change!

Everyone...stay healthy!!!! Take those meds and stay away from anyone sick!

I would definitely wear pantyhose under my dresses and I plan to. Aside from a casual sundress or maybe denim skirt, I kinda tend to think they belong, especially for formal/semi-formal wear. They also seem to keep things in nicely and make the dress not "stick" to the body. Also, I find the shoes I wear for these things to work much better with pantyhose. I have a wide foot and it slides into the shoe so much nicer with hose. It feels more comfortable once its on that way, too. I also feel more like I'm wearing a nightgown if I'm not wearing pantyhose and I'm less inclined to stand properly and all that. But, that's me. If none of those (or other things) are a concern then I guess maybe I wouldn't worry about bringing them. I certainly don't enjoy putting the darn things on. I think you have to decide how you feel about it.

Dentist part 2 is done! I still have to go back in June apparently, but that hopefully will just be normal polishing once I heal. And I have a lot of healing I have to do, indeed. My mouth isn't looking too pretty right now. Kinda brutal today. At least he did a better job with the novocaine this time though. Hopefully I'll be able to chew at least on the left by my Dad's birthday in WDW.

I was in the Dollar Tree earlier and some woman in front of me on line was hacking and not really covering her mouth. I instinctively took a very large step backwards. lol The ironic part was right before that she was talking to her husband about having enough hand sanitizer. I felt like telling her if she gets me sick and I can't get on that ship I'll hunt her down. :P

I see there are more cruise itinerary updates, but nothing for us yet. I guess they have more time than the rest so they're waiting.

Yep, it took a little over 6 hours but it was well worth it.:woohoo: My head was a little sore on Sunday but it was not as bad as I had expected......I'm sure you will love the way they turn out!

We fly out Saturday at
9:00 am arrive at MCO 12:55 not feeling rushed at all.
:scared1::scared1::scared1: Did Disney arrange your flight? That sounds like something they would do!! They tried to do that with us 2 yrs ago, but we decided to book airfare separately so we could arrive on Friday instead. We still ended up delayed when we were supposed to arrive @ MCO ~11 PM but instead landed ~2 AM. Ugh. If it's booked through Disney and you're delayed for whatever reason, they'll hold the boat for you. If it's not through Disney, here's some pixiedust: for on-time arrival and smooth sailing all the way to the boat before 5 PM!

Val, just curious... what transportation are you using from airport to hotel?
The Radison recommended Busy Traveler Transport. $25.00 per person.
We got a car service (SUV, not limo) :rolleyes1 to take us & my parents to the Radisson. Justin wants to do some guitar and motorcycle shopping around the PC area when we get there, so I just emailed Sun.ray (no dot--I forgot that it's blocked for some reason) about getting a price to drive us around to do that after we arrive. It's more expensive than renting a car but less hassle and we don't have to worry about getting lost! Is Busy Traveler a car service or some sort of bus system? I haven't heard of it before.

I just checked and still no room assignment.
:scared1: They do know you're coming, right?

Do you thing if I called and requested another vote for Castaway Cay that Disney would listen???
I know I put in my request for a 2nd CC day! So did a few others! :thumbsup2

Shawan and Tiffany--Oooh! Can't wait to see the braids!!

This is just second hand knowledge from the web site and main board, but those arriving late on Saturday, I think you may need to be on board the boat no later than 3:00 in order to be allowed to sail, so please make sure if your flight was not arranged by Disney that you really have enough time. It would be so awful to come all that way and then, if your plane is just a little late, to be denied boarding, but my understanding is that they have no flexibility, and must deny anyone who isn't there by 3:00. Check with Disney to be sure.

We start our drive on Thursday the 14th after work (10 days!!!), and will go just the first three hours. Stay over with family that night, then finish the last 11 hours of the drive on Friday so we are safely settled by Friday night at the Radisson, ready to wake up and board early!

do[/I] know you're coming, right?

:lmao: I sure hope they do. I keep checking the dates to make sure I booked 2009 and NOT 2010

I know how you feel and in cool environment, I hate having bear legs, but I really really hate pulling on pantyhose an then dealing with snags :scared1:
I have to say I have gotten lazy and even in my corperate life I have gotten away with not wearing hose in the summer time.

Is Utah on Mountain time? Arizona is aligned with Pacific time right now. We are flying out at 3pm on Friday and don't get into MCO until 11:50pm. We are on AA. That is why we choose to stay at the Hyatt. If we try to check in at 6:30am (that is 3:30am for us) We will also be very tired on that first day, but will have a 7 year old very excited girl who will be dragging us around at port to make sure we see everything. Hoping she will be at least sleep on the bus over to the port.

It was announced today that my parents' May 16 cruise will be going to Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. Since my Dad really prefers the Eastern ports, they are very happy! Too bad we couldn't get that deal...

I'm pretty much packed as of today and the FE arrived at the warehouse 2 weeks ago (and haven't been sent back), so I'm ready! Only 7.5 more work days and 2 more calls until we leave for the port!!!:cool1:

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted lately; been lurking-no time to post! Still need to buy clothes for me :rolleyes1and finish FE gifts! I work well under pressure!:confused3

I just got off the phone with disney about ?'s on our cruise docs and I asked about the alternate port for Mexico. CM said we're still going to Mexico and that the press has moved on to other things now so our itinerary stands as it is! He tried to make it sound like it's no big deal; I'm sure that's what they are supposed to say, and he continued to assure me that Disney still upholds the utmost cleanliness policy with hand sanitation at dining rooms, etc., etc., which we all know. I asked if we will be informed via a special announcement on the DCL website and he assured me we're going to Mexico. I just want to get on this ship and meet & greet all of you! It can't come soon enough!!! (well maybe soon enough if I don't get my behind in gear!!!!)

Welcome to the newcomers to the thread!!!

We won’t be leaving to drive down until the 15th. We’ll probably start around 6 am.

Kathy- I’ve made a note of the times and will add that info to the mini navs to just give an idea of when they will most likely be held.

Oh and no hose for me on the cruise. I have to wear either hose or knee highs to work all the time so I will definitely be hose free on vacation, even if I won’t be able to have everything sucked into place, lol!

Kristin- 5 bottles of cabernet, you are prepared! I’ve got 6 mini bottles of rum and a pint of vodka! :goodvibes

Kathy (minniemom)- Well it certainly sounds like the CM you talked to is pretty certain we will be headed to Cozumel. I’m kind-of surprised. I doubt we’ll even know for sure now until we wake up Wednesday on the cruise and see where we are. Then again Cozumel never was “mainland” Mexico. We’ll see!!!

Oh, Phil & Kelly (pwoodson) are you all out there? I think you all are the only room number I don’t have for the FE exchange.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2Important Reminder:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Many of you know this but I just wanted to remind everyone since cruise time is getting so close and since we have moved to our second thread! I will have our Mini-Navigators with me at the terminal so if you won’t be able to make the 3:00 pm Promenade Lounge meet please make sure you get one from me then. For all of us that will be at the meet you can get yours from me then!!! And if you don’t catch me then I’ll be in room 2530 (can you call rooms on the ship like a hotel?) If so just give me a ring and I’ll get one to you or drop it off at your room). I’ll also stick a few extra in my FE the first day. I’m just afraid to leave many out because I fear that non-DISers may swipe them and we’ll run out, but I’m making one for each family that we have on the DIS spreadsheet that Jane gave out. FYI the mini-navigators will definitely be including the following: a listing of the meets we have discusses (Promenade Lounge, walking, deck parties, cove café, etc.). a listing of those individuals interested in the tastings with the times, a list of all FE participants (DIS name, adults names, kids names with ages, room number, and number of men, women, boys, and girls per room), a map of the decks with the rooms in the FE highlighted, and a list of all the wonderful DISers (DIS name, adults names, kids names and ages, and any special celebrations), and there’s also a note section so you can add any last minute details or changes!

Hey all, I guess I am joining the party a little late but figured there is always room for one more Dis'er to hop on board. Can't believe we are less than two weeks away and we are very excited for our first Disney Cruise, unless you want to count the couple hundred previous trips on It's a Small World.

Reading the thread I am amazed on how may folks from here will be on the boat and realize that I have a lot of catching up to do as I am just learning about the magnets, fish extenders, etc......who knew cruising could be so much work!?!

Well we look forward to a great trip and and wish the same for each of you.

Lynsey- You are AMAZING!!! Ugh I can't imagine pantyhose every day!! I couldn't wait to get out of my skating tights everyday and they are 50 times thicker than regular pantyhose.

Lucky1- Yes we are Mountain time. Darn Arizona time always messes everyone up are Daylight Savings. :rolleyes1 We were planning on being at the airport around 9, but now we will be there at 7!! I hope check in is not too crazy and we'll be on the same bus!! At least you can go back up to bed after registering.

***New to our Cruise Boards***
This is a message for all the new people to our cruise boards about Fish Extender gifts.
Unfortunately due to our Cruise group size, we had to set a deadline of April 1st to be in the FE Exchange.
I know some of us have extra's. I have 2 extra gifts I can bring with me. So NotAZoo, if you want to PM me your stateroom #, I can drop off an FE gift for you guys.
I think if anyone who isn't on the original list for FE want to participate, say so and those with extra gifts can PM them about an exchange. But be aware, it may be a small group to do an exchange with!!!!
It's a bummer, I know...

About Cozumel...I'm still excited to go there even with the Swine Flu.
I'm just Happy to be on a fun CRUISE!!!!!!!!!

Yep, it took a little over 6 hours but it was well worth it.:woohoo: My head was a little sore on Sunday but it was not as bad as I had expected......I'm sure you will love the way they turn out!

It takes me 10 hours to get my hair braided either I have a really big head or really slow braiders.

We are flying out Friday at 7 something or other. Which means we will miss the get together at the Radisson, we won't get into Orlando til around 10 which means I will be heading right to bed.

I hope all you guys who are feeling under the weather feel better soon

Its ok on the Fish Extenders and gifts....being late to the ball I can understand, especially with the time and effort people spend on getting things ready. I think I will be lucky if can get a magnet or two ready between now and then let alone anything else. I do appreciate the offer though as that is very kind, but no worries and thanks again.

is there an order to the FE gifts, I mean, like so and so is going on day 1, etc? or just put them out as you please?

That's the best news I've heard all day!!! Thank you for taking the time to call them!!!:worship:

Welcome to our board! Sadly, I can't remember how many FE gifts I mailed to the warehouse, but I'm sure I probably have an extra one! If not, if you decide you want to join...I make some extras!!!

Lynsay: Thank you sooooooo much for all of your hard work! The mini-navigator is going to be wonderful, especially for handing out gifts!

I'm with the "No Hose" group! I wear trouser socks 3 days a week (sometimes more) and HATE them! So, I'll be going "bare" which means the rest of you may need some sunglasses!:cool2:
