~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~ Part 2 ~~~ Key Lime Pie-rates ~~~
is there an order to the FE gifts, I mean, like so and so is going on day 1, etc? or just put them out as you please?
Nope no order you can do it on whatever day is best for you!!! I haven't decided yet when I might deliver mine, at first I though early on in the cruise just to be able to walk to all the decks but now I'm leaning towards the middle of the week!
JorDan I know exactly the kind of hose you are talking about I took dance when I was 3 years old until 10th grade (I was always the chubby one who looks like the dancing cabbage patch kid, :cool1:) but I was also in showchoir. They are horribly thick; however, they are nice and tan and shiny!
We are leaving for WDW this Friday!! :banana: :banana: :banana:
We'll be at the Boardwalk Villa's from 5/9-/15 and we'll spend the Friday night before the cruise at the Doubletree Ocean Suites in Melbourne.
We'll be right there with you staying at BWV from 5/10-16 when we take a town car to the ship.
I am new to this thread.... wow so much info!! Thanks Rm 1058
:welcome:
So, if you leave on the 8th, then are you the next to leave? I think so. Jane and Carole leave on the 9th. Kim -- don't you leave on the 9th too?
I'm leaving on the 10th. It's like my Mother's Day present to myself -- a pre-trip to WDW! I will be a good daughter and celebrate Mother's Day with my own Mom the day before.
Hey all, I guess I am joining the party a little late but figured there is always room for one more Dis'er to hop on board. Can't believe we are less than two weeks away and we are very excited for our first Disney Cruise,
:welcome: There's always room for more! It's our first Disney cruise too.
Wish me luck for tomorrow. I should be getting that essential passport around noon. And Mati was right. I've moved a bunch since my last passport 10 years ago and can't find my birth certificate -- hence the major freak-out. I just can't believe the irony of the super-planner letter her own passport expire before a major trip. After this I'll really need this vacation :cool2:.
Kim
What that CM said is just plain silly. Granted, you can catch the flu here, too (making the entire thing kinda silly in itself), but the CDC (not the press) still advises against non-essential travel to Mexico and Carnival isn't going to Mexico until at least after June 15th. "Horse Hockey" was the term that initially came to mind when I saw that. lol I could certainly be wrong, but even if this is much ado about nothing, or at least very little, I don't see Disney leading the pack in the return to normalcy by such a large margin. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Safety is a Disney trait I much appreciate.
RCCL will not be going to Cozumel on their cruise the same week as ours, either.
We got a car service (SUV, not limo) :rolleyes1 to take us & my parents to the Radisson. Justin wants to do some guitar and motorcycle shopping around the PC area when we get there, so I just emailed Sun.ray (no dot--I forgot that it's blocked for some reason) about getting a price to drive us around to do that after we arrive. It's more expensive than renting a car but less hassle and we don't have to worry about getting lost! :laughing: Is Busy Traveler a car service or some sort of bus system? I haven't heard of it before.
Busy Traveler is a shuttle service that the Radison Recommended. Hope they are reliable. This is the web site: abusytraveler.com
Val - I assume you have your eliptical at home. I thing the YMCA would frown on me bringing my laptop with me to the gym. I've tried all sorts of things to make the time go faster, but it just seems to drag by. Congrats on getting your evening outfits figured out. Sorry you are starting to feel under the weather. Make sure to get lots of rest as well.
Chasity - We'll be in Epcot on the 10th we'll try and keep an eye out for you. I'll have a lime green Mickey Head hanging from my bag. If you see us - say hi!
Mati - hope your trip is going well.
I think I may have either lost part of a filling or broken off part of a tooth. Called the dentist tonight, they are suppose to call me tomorrow to see if I can get an appt.
I want to double check the posts on the first page to make sure I've got everyone listed on the spreadsheet. I'll do that tonight and email an updated list.
Hi everyone. Would love to respond to all the posts -- give a better Welcome to the new cruisers, etc but I am exhausted. I am heading for bed and yes, it is only 8pm here in California (but 10pm in Austin!). Have had a long long day but made it safely. The plane was PACKED full -- so much for the swine flu scare! Throat still hurts but not too badly. Taking a simply sleep pill and going to bed early in the hope that I can get up super early and workout. The conference starts at 7:30 tomorrow am and runs all day with a networking dinner that runs late at night so if I don't catch you guys tomorrow -- keep the boards nice and warm for me! :goodvibes
2 Eagle Mom - I really hope they get you in. Going to the dentist sure sucks, but I suppose not nearly as much as not being able to get work you need done.
Thanks! My dentist only works a couple of days a week, but she shares a practice with another dentist. I hope I can get in to see him tomorrow.
I just emailed an updated spreadsheet to the FE distribution group. Let me know if there are any changes/corrections.
Jane
That's the best news I've heard all day!!! :banana: Thank you for taking the time to call them!!!:worship:.
Same here. I would love to go to Cozumel but I can't get excited about it just yet because I know that they can change that at any time. I see that Carnival has changed their itineraries until June 15. There have been no confirmed cases in Cozumel. There are more confirmed cases of swine flu here in Houston than in Cozumel. I know that their economy is really hurting right now and I really really hope we go. We will probably have Paradise beach all to ourselves.
val yes we did book it all through DCL via our fabulous TA(don't get me started) soo they must know what they are doing right....
disgirl we cant wait to get one of your mini navs. thanks for all the hard work
good night all
BTW, Rich, there are some people planning a "meet by the pool" on Friday night at 9 PM at the Radisson, so maybe think about joining the group to get acquainted before the cruise actually starts! And we'll be thinking of the group that's meeting at Epcot that night, too! :grouphug:
Somehow I missed this - we'll be staying at the Radisson that night, too!
It will be so much fun to meet you all before we cruise! :love:
Did some of my magnets last night:cool1:I got a couple more to do. This is our first time doing our own magnets. In november we got happy birthday banners for our DS, then the oceaneers lab counselors decorated our stateroom door with pictures of DS shaped like balloons and streamers and actual balloons it made DS feel special it was wonderful.:yay:10 more days till we leave for port canaveral!!:banana:
SNAP!!! I JUST LOST MY POST!! :mad::mad::mad: Here's the shortened version:
Anyway, I'm not going to waste time retyping my story about sleeping for 9 hrs and waking up tired but having the dog puke in the middle of the night :crazy2: so I'll just skip over that and go right on to the fun stuff!
So just out of curiosity...is anyone else arriving at MCO on the 15th shortly after noon? Our plane arrives @ 12:39 PM. Belinda--you're still right around noon, right?
:welcome: Dennis (NotAZoo)! I've got you listed on #4! Thanks for the PM. If you want to share any other info, just let me know! :thumbsup2
Lynsey--your mini nav sounds *~*~wonderful!~*~*~ I can't wait to see it!
Regarding Coz, it really doesn't matter one way or another to me if we go there or not (although I'd still LOVE a 2nd CC day!!), but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't do any sort of formal announcement until next week, just like the 3 days' notice that the current Western sailing got. It just sux for those who are doing excursions, though. Maybe they'll just cancel all excursions to mainland Mexico or something if there are no flu cases in Coz. :confused3
My FE gifts will be delivered early--sometime before Monday...they have to! ;)
Kim--I hope everything goes smoothly with your passport today. Let us know when you've got that hot little thing in your hands!! :thumbsup2
Chasity--sounds like you'll need a vacation after your trip to WDW!! Oh, yeah...then you've got the cruise!! :laughing:
Rich--I'm sure it's a reliable service if the Radisson recommended it. If you have any doubts, you can visit the transportation board and ask if anyone has had experience with them. :thumbsup2
Mati--I'm glad to see you made it safely!! We're missing you, though! :grouphug:
Jane--I hope your tooth gets fixed ASAP! :scared:
Gordon--I'm glad to hear that Disney booked your flight. Now let's hope for no delays, but even if you are delayed, they should hold the ship for you. I'm sure it makes you feel better knowing you're not the only cruiser on that plane. Anyone else from here on that flight?!?!
I got my magnets done on Sunday, too! I had printed things a few weeks ago but never got them laminated until last weekend. I also am reusing some from last time. :thumbsup2
I better get to work so I can do some more last minute things when I get finished! The days are counting down and my to-do list keeps growing!! :lmao:
Is anyone not laminating their magnets? I had decided to give decorating my door a little a try, but I really don't feel like I can be getting things laminated.
I am also planning on using magnet strips with glue, for extra adhesive. I can't find the pack of magnet inkjet paper I have and the stores here don't seem to carry it.
I've been working on ideas, but haven't printed anything yet. Hopefully any graphics I had found & "borrowed" will be alright. I know I found some here before I joined this site and thread.
I found the magnetic printer paper at Office Max or Office Depot. I believe Staples would carry it. It is expensive, about $12/5 sheets.
Now I have to see if DH can figure out how to combine the graphics so I can get multiple images on 1 sheet and just cut them out. I am so terrible with this. I don't want to waist paper. Does anyone know how to do this with photoshop or something else? :confused:
:confused3
Well I called today and still no stateroom and cruise documents are not sent. :rolleyes1 The CM on the phone mentioned that they will probably send my Cruise documents out next day air once I get my room assignment., but since I have done everything online that the only thing I need is the luggage tags and I could get them from the Welcome desk. (Aggh :headache: I wanted to get my extra sleep in the morning, vs trying to do that). She also indicated that I booked my cruise so late and that is why I don't have a room assignment yet.
I also asked about those of us staying at the MCO Hyatt and she said that they have printed instructions that they will give us at the Hyatt (Normally the information is included in your cruise documents if you booked it through them, we didn't). She said that we still go to the DCL CM on the same floor as the Hyatt lobby to check in, but the time would be indicated on the Hyatt letter.
Would someone be willing to post or sent the link to where we can download the Key Lime Pie rates DIS Graphic to create a magnet?
Thanks,
Laura
Yeah, I don't really have those stores by me. We had an Office Depot, briefly but it didn't do well and closed.
I use paint shop pro most of all, and I believe it can be done similarly in Photoshop. You can just go to something like "new" and start a new document of whatever background color, size etc. you want, and from there you open each item you want to add to it and simply copy, then paste on the new page you started. I do it all the time. Just a quick tip on where to start.
