Morning everyone!!!!

Since DH and I are going to be by ourselves this trip, we are just going to wave to the characters as we pass by, unless we see some of the characters the kids don't normally see.

In October when we took the kids, we were at opening of Toontown one morning about 45 minutes early. We were going to try to be the first ones in to get lots of autographs. At opening, we were up at the rope, about 8 other families were next to us.

Mickey came out and waved to everyone, took a look around and spyed my DD (Belle) age 4. She had two ponytails, with Mickey heads on the ponytail holders. Mickey's handler said something to him and he pointed to DD and to her pony tails. The handler came up to us and said, "Mickey wants you to help him open Toontown by giving you and your family a tour of his house." :cloud9:

She took the rope down, Mickey hugged my kids, took DD by the hand and proceeded to take us on a "tour", pointing out things in his house. I was so teary, I could barely see to take pictures!

Then he took us to his room and the handler told all of the other families that had followed us that they would have to wait outside. And we spent about 10 minutes with the Mouse, taking pictures with just us. I will never forget it as long as I live.

If only I knew how to post pictures!!!!!:headache:

If you get a chance, be at Toontown at opening. Not only does Mickey do that, but Goofy picks one child to ride Goofy's Barnstormer too. If Mickey hadn't picked DD, we were going to make a bee-line for Goofy, who was standing in the middle of Toon town, doing the Robot, much to the delight of all. (Especially the adults!!!!):)

What a great story Jo,
I hope to get a magical moment like that.
But I know the entire trip, and just being at WDW is going to be magical for us.

Now if it would only get here.

So what is everyone doing today.
My son is back at school after march break, and I am doing :laundy: , and housecleaning. Realtor coming by with someone this afternoon, cross your fingers for me.

Jo,

That really is a great story! I can't wait for magical moments like that with our kids!

Thanks!!! It's funny how things like that make you so happy as a parent.:goodvibes I just went back and looked at the pictures I took of Mickey holding DD's hand. I took a few from behind, of them walking the path. And of course, I don't feel good, so I started getting teary all over again. I'm SUCH a baby.:)

Belle just came in and said "yep, that's when Mickey took me to his house."

Oh great, now I feel guilt. :sad1:

Lake! Love your May sig!!!!!!!!

Good luck with your house!! I know how it is with us just selling and moving in December. Are you moving far away?
How is the market there?

One of my DF's just called at 10pm last night. They had just sold there's. It had been on the market for two months.

pixiedust: just for you!

Jo

Jo,

:grouphug:

Don't feel guilty! Mom and Dad need time too!

There will be MANY more trips to make those magical moments as a family, but it's really hard for couples to find time together by themselves. You two will go and have a romantic time at Disney and it will be wonderful!!!

I know it's hard though.. :grouphug:

Jo - That really is a great story. So does Toontown Fair not open at MK opening? I guess I didn't notice last time.
I am looking forward to winning that Stay in the Cinderella Castle prize!! Anyone else???

I just paid off my trip! How exciting!!:cool1: I can't wait to get there. 55 days!

Thanks for the good luck wishes Jo and Mella

The market here is terrible we have been listed since the end of last summer. We are an automotive city, so a lot of layoffs and plant closure are effecting the market.
We have had a lot of people looking just no offers yet. There are so many houses up for sale right now, every time someone comes by our house they go and see another 15 just like it.

We are not moving far, since having the kids we just need more room. We want something with a fourth bedroom/ that would also be my office and a second bathroom, and a garage.
My parents live 3 hours away so I want a room for them to have during their frequent visits, and not have to move one of the kds out of their rooms.

Shelly, Toontown opens at 10 am.

Okay, here's the deal...

If any of us win the stay, we have to request a piece of cardboard paper, and a black magic marker. On it, we have to say " 'Sup, May'ers" and put it in the window of the castle. That way, we'll know one of our little group is more extra special than we already knew we were. and :snooty: , of course!

Jo

Mella, Thanks.

I saw your picture, BTW...you guys are lovely!!!! And your eyes... woo, girl! :goodvibes

i want to find a way to blow this guy up :snooty: so that i can put one in my window at POP! otherwise i will just print up a bunch of them and put them on my LGMH!!

Lake,
Your market sounds a bit like ours. (We lived in the Home office town for Wal-Mart). You could be extremely picky in finding a house. Ours was on the market for 4 months, we were one of the largest house in the neighborhood, but were the cheapest for our square footage.

We ended up dropping our house $10,000 more (!) and offering $5000 in closing costs. Our house was practically brand new (3 years ) and we lost a bunch of equity, just because we had to in order to sell it. There were houses in our price range that had been on the market since January 2005 that were still brand new. Many construction companies were going bankrupt.

We were very lucky.

Jo

I just can't figure out how to make him a bit bigger! then i could just put one in the center of my LGMHPC and THEN i would definately be recognized as a MAYER!! :woohoo:
