Hi MAYers! :goodvibes Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Katie - Get better soon! I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!

Welcome Abby5!! :yay: So glad you decided to come out and chat with us! If you've been reading for awhile you know we are a little crazy at times! :rotfl: Where did you stay when you went in May? That was such a great surprise from your husband! :lovestruc

Have a great day everyone!

hello hello hello hello. here have one of these.

Katiebell- get your rear in gear and start feeling better soon!!!!!!!!!! Could it be allergies? Are you allergic to the fall weeds- ragweed is out in full force right now here. In PGH, none of us had any probs, but dang if we didn't start being miserable as soon as we got in here to AR. Maybe you could go to the Doc and plead your case and he would give you some meds "just in case." I love those "just in case docs"... here, have a hydrocodone. Valium, anyone?? hahahahahahahahahahaha

kidding, I'm kidding. You all know how loopy I'd be if I took any of that junk, LOL. One glass of wine sends me into full-on panic mode.  :dance3:

I've been doing WDW plans and such all morning (since 5:30!!!!)- couldn't sleep. Too excited. 40 days- we have the countdown going!

JC--------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know who you think you are, Missy, but 'round these parts, we EXPECT MAyers to be members in good standing and those who do not show their white pearlies AT LEAST once a month are subject to fines. You, m'dear have been fined to the hard duty of finding and posting for me that 'naner that makes me giggle. Step to it, Miss Sunshine. :cool2:

:rolleyes1
:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Sulley- same goes for you, Missy--- only find that packing cow. Ms Katiebell needs some packing inspiration and that's few and far between in here lately, seein' how were all MAYers.

Abby5, lord a'mercy child, where have you been hiding and for how long have you been checking us out without even a proper "how do you do"??????? :flower3: Sounds like you'll fit right in- we can get a little out there, but we all adore one another--- soooooooo---welcome aboard. Now, tell us all about your trip- and your fam. We know about Dh- what a jewel of a man. Saaving for all this time for a trip. Hummmm...... gives me a good idea.

Remember when i told all of you that I was going to save $ last year when we first planned our Oct trip by pulling out $20 here and there and saving it when I go to the grocery store? Anyone wanna guess how much I've saved total to this point???

here, I'll tell you...

$1300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. That' some serious shopping habit I have. Now granted, I took $400 of that with us on the MAY trip, so now I'm down to $900 but hoping to be up to $1200 by the time we leave. Mark is going to be so suprised!!!:scared1:

Okay- almost time to watch the GA Bulldogs eat some Chicken for lunch when they play SC.... then on to the USC/tOS game tonight. Love love love football.

Have a great day, MAYers!

Hugs all around.

Jo

Momof2--we had a reservation for a one bedroom at beach club villas.

When we got to check in though they had changed our reservation to the beach club. I was concerned because we had ordered some groceries but they assured me that we would like the room.

YA THINK--we ended up in a two bedroom suite with concierge!!!

IT WAS AMAZING!!! we were so close to epcot, the view was of the boardwalk and I could sit on the balcony and watch the kids swim.

Hopefully we'll get back in a couple of years even though it will be impossible to beat our first trip.

I have to make something for the osu/usc game and try not to be TOO surprised when they get their butts handed to them AGAIN on national tv.

Hello and welcome to Abby! Hiya guys...ok, I went to the urgent care today and got a culture done for strep. I'll know by tomorrow morning, and they'll either put me on antibiotics for strep or they'll say, nope it's a virus, has to run it's course. Right now I have almost no voice...I can almost hear DH say in Jafar's voice, "Speechless I see, a fine quality in a wife!" :rotfl2:

I feel crummy right now, but have the rest of today and tomorrow to start getting better. If I have no voice on Monday, but I'm feeling some better, I'll go ahead in to work, and just have other people make calls to customers if need be (sometimes if I can't figure out what account or how much a customer wants to pay on multiple accounts, I have to call them).

Gotta do this week:
laundry (and try not to wear what we are taking with us)
pack (where oh where are my inspirational packing cows???)
print out flight info
print out itinerary info (like ADR #'s)
balance my checkbook
pay all my bills
plan dinners that will use up as much of our fresh food as possible
ACK! So much to do!!! We leave Thursday night...well, Friday morning at 12:30 am, but have to be at the airport Thursday night...

Time to start running around like a chicken with my head cut off...wish me luck and pixiedust!

Hi Mayers!

Abby5 - Tell us more about your upcoming trip. We want every juicy detail!!!

Tonight, I am driving four 13 year old boys to cotillion. It is so funny to see them dressed up in suits. They are so handsome. They normally look sweaty and dirty and stink. They were all talking about places they would like to visit. One would say Cabo, another would say, LA, another SanFransDisco, another NYC. Then I said, I just want to go back to Disney World. They were all high fiving. Yeah, let's go to Disney World. They were too cute.

I need to go pick them up and take them to dinner after. We are meeting up with other cotillion boys from our school. I think there may be 15 or so. Wish me luck!!!

Hey all...

Abby5 - Welcome... yes please tell us about your vacation... I love hearing about peoples trips... well we all do....

hey guys!!!! :snooty:

welcome abby5!!! :goodvibes yes, please tell us all about your trip!! we love talking disney! popcorn:: and there are still a few 'burgh girls around here.... someone abandoned us..... :rolleyes1

kb - how you feeling? i realllllllly hope that it's not strep - how did your culture go?

hey everyone else! i am off to go see "death of a salesman" with my cousin mike. he asked me out on a date  awww, he's cute!

we're still packing away... i hope that my parents problems don't rub off on us. :guilty: they were doing good for the past few months and now all of a sudden they're fighting again. i need some pixie dust :wizard: because at this point have too much of a choice and i am just going to mind my own business and keep my eyes on the prize...

have a great weekend everyone!

mornin all-

Well, we braved the hurricane, which supposedly was only a "tropical storm" by the time it got to us. At 12:30 last night I awoke to the most horrific sound--- I was sure there was a tornado outside. I turned on the tv to see if there was an alert or anything and there wasn't. Mark got up and just as he did we heard a huge "thud"- I thought it was one of our oak trees out back. We couldn't see anything out the windows. About that time, Belle came running into the room and Mark said "let's get to the media room" so we got settled in there with the tv on and then MC came in to say her window was leaking again... grumble grumble. Mark went outside to see if there was any damage and as soon as he did, a huge gust of wind sent him howling sideways- he looked like the weather people that go stand outside during the storms, anchoring themselves to telephone poles.

We all fell asleep in the media room. Drew slept thru the whole thing.
:sad2:
This morning, there were people in golf carts zooming all up and down the street. We got into the car and drove around, as best we could.

There are huge oak trees down everywhere. On top of peoples houses, on their cars, all strewn over the golf course. Everywhere.

We are very lucky that we only had a few branches down in the backyard. The big "thud" I heard that shook the house was my neighbors to the back of us-- he got two huge oaks thru his house. :scared1:

RF- I was a 'Burgh interloper anyway... you know.... someone that wasn't really supposed to be there but was there just the same, trying to blend, and yet sticking our like a sore thumb. hahahaha
hope things are ok at your parents house. Try to not choose a side once you get there. It is going to be hard, I know, to stay neutral. Just let them know that under no circumstance will you get involved. hugs-----
as far as tOS game....   that's all this Gator Girl will say 'bout that.:upsidedow

NC- a cotillion- how cute. Did they have fun? How was your weather? Did you get bad storms too???

Katiebell- i sure hope you feel better soon. It might be a virus or something. Once you get out of your twentys, ;) ahem, your chances of it being strep diminish significantly. Since we're still only "29" , though, our chances are huge. Seriously, though, I hope you feel better- you have quite the to do list going on out there! What time do you land at MCO? And did you ever tell me which bldg you requested??????

Hello to everyone near and far- hope the MAYers have a great day.

YAY -- JUST IN TIME -- PACKING COWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Sulley!

I don't have strep, I'm feeling some better, going back to work today...

And....I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jo, I didn't request any building because I had no idea which one I should ask for :confused3 I do know that we are in a room w/two double beds and I'm going to ask if it's possible to pay extra and get a King room if it's available. We leave home 12:25 am Fri morning, and get into Orlando 10:52 am. There is a short layover in Houston.

Morning MAYers!!!!! :snooty: :goodvibes

Hey Sulley, I have a question for you... My cousin Mike is joining the CP in January and thinks that he will be able to get me 6 free days in the parks :woohoo: - The only thing is that I am not sure if he has to wait for those kinds of benefits... :confused3 Is there like a probation period or something??? (We are going in May) Also, do you think that I am better off still booking a package because we will be in the parks for longer than 6 days - and then adding the no expiration option to my remaining tickets ..... I am confused  :sad2:

There is a short layover in Houston.

KB - I heard on the news this morning, that they are starting limited flights in and out of Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston today. Tomorrow, they are starting flights with Southwest out of Houston Hobby. I would think by Friday it will be business as usual.

My DH's company has a huge computer server thingy in Houston of all places. The servers never went down this weekend. Which is a Godsend. He said they are near one of the airports in Houston, but he can't remember which one. But we thought it was great that there was not a problem with them.

Well, the NewCrews had a little excitement this weekend. The water ran down the dining room window again. We found the leak in the attic. It is coming in a vent pipe, then seeping thru a seem in the pipe, running down it, then dripping onto Chloe's bathroom ceiling. Doug thinks some sort of topper must have blown off of the vent during Gustav, causing the leak. :sad2: Not sure who to call about the dining room window. Doug thinks we might could call our plumber about the vent thing. :confused3 I think it is a vent for the upstairs furnace.

I got up during the night, the winds were wicked. It sounded like a horror movie or something. At the back of our house you barely hear them, but at the front.... :scared1:. Good golly, it was aweful. I changed the towel out at the dining room window as it was soaked. My DH was up. DS didn't get much sleep as his room is at the front of the house. It settled down after an hour or so. So I went back to sleep. We woke up the next morning to this:

I think my house looks naked on that corner now.

Well, DS is out of school today, parent conferences.

I need to take him to football.

Morning all..

NC - those pictures are crazy. Hey atleast it didn't hit the house.

KB - YAY 4 days left... I'm jealous... Remember we NEED pics and report.... can't wait. You must be so excited. I remember when i went in May how crazy I got.

Sulley - thanks for checkin in..... we miss you around here. But we understand....

oh we got some good news this weekend. Remember my DSS's situation with the 2 girls. Well his GF got her monthly friend and she took a preg test and it came out negative. So that is great news. But the other girl really is pregnant she took the test and eveything but she hasn't made an appointment for the actual doctor. I think she might be hiding something... we'll see....

Mari - That is great news!!!!

Now, if the other issue can be resolved.

Jo- My brother who lives in Springdale has a tree on his house.

NC...YIKES! Is the tree a total lost cause, or can it be replanted? Thank goodness it missed the house! Your brick house is so pretty, BTW...I just love the arches in the front...looks sort of story-book :goodvibes A house like that here would cost your first-born child :rotfl2: Thanks for the Houston airport info...I knew Houston got hit hard but figured they'd be up and running this week again. We are flying Continental... Watching the weather like crazy, but nothing new is brewing in the tropics so far.

Mari, great news about ex-GF :thumbsup2 Now there is only ONE drama to deal with instead of two. I know you'll keep us posted on the news...hoping and praying for the best outcome for everyone involved. I am not sure how to do a trip report -- is there a specific thread part of the board, and you just start a new thread? I know that DH will show me how to post pics -- 'cuz I can write, but man oh man am I techo-lame :rolleyes1

RF, yes, keep focused on your goal, hon, and put blinders on to the family drama. That is so cool that your cousin is going into the CP! :goodvibes

Mornin-
quick fly by before i have to go shopping. Belle has grown like a weed and has NO PANTS to wear in this chilly weather. oh well, what's a girl to do?

KB- you feeling up to par???? As far as POFQ- you can call now and ask which bldg they have you in- 3 and 4 are on either side of the food court, and out the front of bldg 4 is the bus stop. Out the back side of bldgs 3 and 4 are walkways to the pool and hot tub--- if any of that is important to you---
You might want to ask for a corner room. We always do. It gives you two windows and the extra light gives it a larger feeling. If you haven't already, take a look at this thread to get an idea of POFQ- http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=530340 It has the hotel phone # as well as a map of the property. They do the room schedule approx. 2 weeks out, so call now and ask where they have you, which floor etc. Honestly, though, all the rooms are nice there b/c of the size of the resort. It's itty bitty.

NC- good golly miss molly. Was that a willow tree? That's so sad--- I'm thankful your tree didn't go through your house. Is you Bro okay?????
Sorry to hear abput the leak again--- us too. The builder is on the way over to do something about ours- again. I'm tired of it already. Don't you love the change the towel routine in the middle of the night??????
WE have parent teacher conferences here this week, but after school. I think I'm going to have to ask the teacher to put Belle into a reading recovery program or something. The two and a half hour days of Kindergarten in our striking school district (GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR---) has left her wayyyyyyyy behind the other kids, I'm afraid. It just wasn't enough. I'm glad it was only one year----

Mari- good news on your front. I hope that everything works out for your DS...

Sulley- hey girl.... you were quite on top of that assignment. You must be the studious, honor roll, over achiever type, LOL. I love the cows. I'll need some in oh, about 1 month.;)

Hey RF, Sea and SHelly--
hey to Abbey%- come out and talk when you wanna. Just jump right in there. WE won't bite.

Okay- have a fantabulous day.

Hello Mayer friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend. It was too short for us. We went down to DLR to meet up with some friends and met some new ones too, that played VMK.

Two of our friends are wickedly addicted to Toy Story Mania. We rode it with them 5 or 6 times from 4:30 pm to 9:00 p.m. when the park closed. I can never break 200,000, but my wife did this time. Not so with our TSM addict friends...one of them got her personal highest score ever, 329,000, the other is in the 260,000 range.

A few weeks ago, the TSM addicts were complaining about how the 3d glasses get all scratched up and how they comb through the glass bin looking for the perfect pair. Even when they found the pair they liked, they hated the disinfectant smell and residue that is left on them.

That gave me an idea to see if I could get them their own pair. I was able to find a source online that makes the same kind of 3D lenses in a sunglasses style! Ordered them and they came this week. I decided to decorate them with Jibbitz, Woody on one side and Jessie on the other side. Got them also glass case holders and decorated them with some really neat Toy Story puffy stickers that we found at the Disney store.

To say they were excited was an understatement - they were so ecstatic with their own glasses. The CMs ride operators were in disbelief that they now had their own custom 3D glasses. It was a riot to watch this play out in front of us.

I also made them some buttons too:

After DCA closed we went over to DL and met up with the new friends. They are into swing dance at Carnation Plaza Gardens that happens every Saturday night. Mickey and Minnie showed up to dance - which I found out later they rarely come by - and my son Chris danced too. Got some great video of that and I will post it later on this week.

We had a blast - very tired on Sunday - took a nap and relaxed. - Sea
