Hi everyone!

Shelly, I really like those pictures of CBR you posted. I would definitely like to stay there some time, in fact, I would like to try all of the resorts at WDW at least once! :rotfl:

KB - Hope your packing is going well. Are your feeling better too?

Off to look for a costume. We are going to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party next month. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...name=MickeysTrickOrTreatPartySpecialOfferPage

Have a good day!

oh what to do what to do....

I am in such a state. I don't know????!!!! Thanks so much Shelly for the pics and info. $636 is a huge savings for us.
The price for two rooms for nine nights, 7day Park Hoppers, no dining is $3338.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm miserable. I couldn't wait to get to POFQ. Now I don't know.

I have to talk to Mark and see what he wants to do.

I'm worried that if we go to CBR, we will still feel like we are at the parks with tons of people walking around. That's what I liked about POFQ- not crowded.

And now I'm dealing with PMS (sorry, SEA- close your ears-) I just ate a big Mac and french fries and a huge coke. Ewwww, gross. I didn't enjoy it at all but that didn't stop me from inhaling it.

Sea--- do you have a Halloween Expresss store? I went yesterday and they had some good stuff.

Side note... when I was in the Halloween store, there i was, minding my own business when I came face to face with a real life size Michael Myers--- y'all remember the story fron Halloween last year--- I sort of stopped dead and looked at him and backed up really fast and went in the other direction- i almost screamed. That freakin guy terrifies the crap out of me. I almost start hyperventilating and such.

Okay- back to wringing my hands and saying "what to do"...:headache:

Jo

JO - we never got that feeling at CBR. We actually felt more bunched up and crowded at POFQ. CBR is so quiet and spread out that it seemed like we were alone a lot of the time. That's what we liked about it. It's very relaxing and beautiful! :goodvibes We love the tropical feel to it, reminds me of the Poly!

I'm sure you guys will figure out what is best for your family!

Jo, I would try it out...$635 is a lot of money! And the pics look beautiful, and you have a couple of rave reviews from fellow Mayers. What's the worst that could happen? It might not be your favorite, but you might be pleasantly surprised. The grounds look lovely... Have you talked to Mark at all about it? Or is he like my DH who leaves all the planning to me :rotfl2: Actually he is the one who picked POFQ, but that was without really looking at it :lmao: He picked it because it's New Orleans themed, and that's one thing we really missed at WDW compared to DL -- New Orleans Square. MK has Liberty Square instead, which is cool, but just not the same. New Orleans Square is our favorite place to hang out in DL.

Thanks for all the good wishes, folks! Holy cow, there is so much to do. DH likes to wait until the last minute to pack, but I just can't stand it. All my Disney t-shirts are clean and hanging in the closet, so I could safely pack all of those (Tigger, a few different Tinks, Wicked Queen, Cheshire Cat). I have to do another load or two of laundry, and I could pack all our sunblock and shampoo and stuff...and all our electronics (laptop, batteries and chargers, cameras). I have to call Garden Grocer tonight to order -- is it a minimum $25, does anyone know?

I just looked at stormpulse -- "no active storms at this time, no potential storms at this time" :cheer2: :yay:

ACK! So much to do, so much to do...I feel like the White Rabbit...

Refurbishments and Attraction Closures
Magic Kingdom
Tomorrowland Speedway – may experience delayed openings during the relocation of gas tanks and fuel lines.

The Wonders of Life pavilion – has again closed as such, and most likely will only be used as a Festival Center until a new sponsor is found.

Disney's Hollywood Studios
High School Musical 2: School's Out – ended September 13, and will be replaced with new show themed to High School Musical 3: Senior Year, opening in time for the new movie's October 24 opening.

Animal Kingdom
Primeval Whirl – closed for refurbishment September 2 – November 15.
Pocahontas and her Forest Friends – closes permanently September 27.

Thanks for this info :thumbsup2 The only things that might affect us are the Morocco art gallery closing -- I had heard about a cool free tour you have to ask about called "Treasures of Morocco" and I bet it has to do with that gallery -- and I hope Illuminations is still a good show -- we have a dinner ADR at Rose and Crown to try to get a good view. Also, it looks like we'll miss the car stunt show at DHS, but that's ok...we haven't seen Indy either, so we'll try to catch that one instead. And I'll twist DH's arm gently to sit through Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid shows again :rotfl2: He actually seemed to enjoy them last year.

hey guys! i'm here

ok here is my "better late than never - you didn't ask for it, but i'm givin it to ya" input about CBR :rotfl:

I LOVEEEE IT THERE!

It is beautiful and fun and laidback and not stuffy at all.

It is pretty gigantic, so if that is your big problem - then think twice, but I adore CBR! :lovestruc

I loooove the food court - I liked it WAY more than I liked POR and they play the steel drums at night near the pool and food court (At least they did when I was there back in the day :thumbsup2 )

And - that is a big savings....

But I also know what it's like to look so forward to something that sometimes paying extra for it doesn't matter.

Good luck - but I would say go for it. :goodvibes

Ummm....

Did I mention I am going to see the Eagles in concert tonight?

Our dog just turned 12 this summer. And yes, we had a little doggie birthday party for him. :rotfl: Every year I'm afraid it could be his last. He is still in pretty good health, but I'm not sure what the average life span is for his breed. I should ask the vet today! He is a Sheltie (Shetland Sheep Dog). I had him before I had DH and the kids! So the kids have never known life without him. He is a great dog! He got bigger than he was supposed to, he's around 30-35 lbs. He's a little hyper, he's a barker! But no one could ever sneak in here without him letting us know first!

Don't worry, you'll be able to get your dog someday. :wizard: You'll get your house, your dog, have a couple of kids, and wonder how your life turned into such a circus! :goodvibes

NC, how was the concert??? :cool1: :yay:

Shelly, I LOVE shelties...they are such smart little things. We travel too much right now to have a dog, but when I retire (and I'm only working part time, LOL) I would love to get one.

Sulley, thanks for the info about the globe! We had rather crummy seats for Illuminations last year -- on the Cantina patio, but it was PACKED with people, we were perched uncomfortably on a little planter, and there were tons of people in front of us and big umbrellas over the tables blocked a lot of our view. Hope we have a good view from R&C this time, even if we are inside and have to just come out and stand on the patio...

RF, good luck on your training today, hon...

Sea, how are things down South?

Jo, what did you decide about the resort? Inquiring minds want to know...

OK...I was so stressed out a little while ago, but things are all better now...I had a near disaster with our Garden Grocer order. The website says only 24 hour advance notice, so stupid me, I took that literally and didn't rush to place my order. This letter I wrote to the Customer Service Manager explains the rest:

I just need to let you know about an excellent customer service experience I had this morning.

I was really, really disappointed and frustrated -- we ordered last year, I even ordered for my sister's family, and we had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. This year, I went to order and your website requests 24 hour advance notice. We arrive 9/19, and today is 9/17 -- I went online to order and it says no deliveries are available 9/18, 9/19, or 9/20, and when I tried to schedule delivery, it wouldn't accept 9/21 either!!! I called and spoke to customer service, and I wasn't happy...in fact, I was pretty darn cranky (it's only 6:30 am here, and my husband has asked me twice this week if I'd made the grocery order, and I told him, "No problem, it only requires a 24 hour advance notice.")

Now just to explain, for medical reasons, we have to have bottled water.*** So I figured I would have to buy it at the food court and pay a ridiculous amount for it the first few days. Or try to figure out how to cram some of it into my suitcase and hope it doesn't explode at 40,000 feet and soak everything in there. The second issue was coffee -- not for medical reasons, but if my dear husband doesn't have real coffee in the morning, he turns into the Beast. So I was imagining the headlines -- "Wife Didn't Make Garden Grocer Order In Time -- Husband Couldn't Wait Until Monday Night For Coffee, Goes Beserk". OK, great, I'll just pack some coffee in with the water -- maybe I'll skip bringing clothes and just buy new clothes in Florida... Then the website was glitchy and I couldn't finish the order, so I called back again (not sure if I was talking to the same customer service rep each time, they were all nice and apologetic, LOL). I was told they could make the delivery Monday night, so great, we will have groceries on Tuesday the 23rd. Lovely. When I hung up, it was very clear I was stressed out and upset...I believe I used the phrase, "This is a disaster!"

A couple of minutes later, my cell phone rang...WHO is calling me at 6:30 am??? Lo and behold, it was J*, from your customer service. She told me that after reviewing my order, it wasn't too big (it's just the two of us), and that she could squeeze a delivery in Saturday night. YAY J*!!! You just saved my butt from getting chewed off by my husband who told me to order earlier, LOL!!! She really did go above and beyond, because she could have just thought to herself, "OMG, that lady was ridiculously crabby!" and moved on to her next customer. So thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. =)

It would be really helpful if on your website it didn't just say 24 hour advance notice...maybe mentioned that sometimes the weekends book up, or one week advance notice is better, something like that. Might keep your nice customer service reps from having to deal with as many people freaking out on the phone (I used to work in a call center, believe me, I know).

For my part...I post on several Disney boards -- that's how I found out about your service in the first place -- I will try to get the word out there to folks to call at least a week or two in advance to make their grocery orders.

[yes, this is true, I wasn't just padding the story LOL]

Seriously, I hope that girl gets a raise.

Mari, I love love love IKEA! And DH loves it too because he loves putting together the furniture...says it's like putting together giant models :rotfl2: We have a bookshelf, two dressers, and two nightstands, and various other stuff. Fun place to shop!
