On Saturday, we went to the Petersen Automotive Museum and saw "The Art of Cars" exhibit. Unfortunately, I could not photograph the actual artwork on the walls of the museum, however they did allow me to take pictures of Mater, Lightning McQueen and some of the clay model sculptures they use to prep for the movie.

The artwork was quite impressive. It is amazing to see the amount of prep work and detail that goes into making a movie. For example they had a huge display of iris's that was made up so that the digital artists could select from for each individual cars eyes. A lot of research went into the actual road stops on Route 66. Some of the places you see in Radiator Springs are nods to places found on that famous national route. Quite interesting!

We also bumped into Herbie, The Love Bug there too - we had a great time!

We try to do the Soarin side of Epcot first. So it is a little later when we go over to M:S.

Can't wait to see a Mayer on my April trip!

What a beautiful day here! hope the sun is shining on your part of the world today.

NC- my goodness- what a nightmare witht the transportation! That's what I have always been afraid of- no control over what is going on. if that had've happened to us, Mark would've FREAKED. Glad to know the cab came to your rescue- I bet you would've paid $40 just to be out of that situation!
Your AK day sounded wonderful. Glad your DH took matters ino his own hands with those kids- that's just so sickening when people act that way- NO CLASS.
Have a great Epcot day and Take pics with Sulley- (HI SULLEY!!!!! ).
We love Epcot...might be our fave.


Sea- great video!!! I smiled so big when I saw the cars themselves. Tow Mater is so goofy with his buck teeth, LOL.

Shelly- hey there you! Got everything packed? I haven't even made a list of things I need to buy yet. I am so behind! I will be packing furiously the night before, I am sure.

Mari- American Girl stuff is so neat! And expensive!!!!! Mary Cat used to be into those dolls and she would get one every Christmas. I have a huge Rubbermaid tub filled with them and their beds, etc- Belle hasn't bought into the hysteria yet, so I am waiting patiently.

When i was a little girl, my mom was into doll collecting. But not the new dolls. The very old, late 1800 dolls- the bisque ones. She bought them along, always saying she would someday sell them whenever she really needed the money. I would get one every Christmas- it was actually a lot of fun. Fast forward to when I wanted to get married....
Me and Mom sold all of my old dolls ( well, most of them- she still has my absolute faves-) at various doll shows-
and we made thousands of dollars!!!!!!!!!!! So I sold my dolls in order to get married.

Huggie- I got my pizza yesterday...

RF- are you nervous yet??????






I have to take Belle to the Dr. What I thought was allergies has turned into a high fever, coughing, headache, earache thing. If it's the flu, I will pass out.

I'll be in and out all day, MAYers. Not long now, and we will be in our Hppy Place!!!!

I forgot to tell you all the best part of our weekend!

We went to a new Sonic!!!!!!!!!!!! For those who have never heard of Sonic- it's a fast food place that you only drive through, or pull up and park and order- then a girl comes out on roller skates and "hangs" your food off of your window- ala 1950's style burger joint.

Anyway, it's a SOuthern thing- and now they have one here in PA!!!!!!!!! I was dying. It has the best slushes anywhere! I used to take the kids every day (boy did that get expensive) after i picked them up from school in Arkansas! NC- I KNOW you know about Sonic-
LOL- I used to scrounge for change on the floor of my car and under the seats- justto feed my Slush addiction.
ummm, Route 44 Cherry Slush with cherries in the bottom. YUMM-O.

Anyway, the kids were bouncing, yelling they were going to Sonic.
It was very funny.

If you ever see one- veer over five lanes of traffic, just to get to it. It's well worth it.

(PS- They have them in Florida!)

Today we went to AK!!!

We had a blast!

We were there at rope drop. The first one thru our turnstiles. Thanks to my DH. We were in line behind maybe 3 or 4 teenage girls. Well, while we were waiting suddenly it turned into about 12 girls, a couple of guys and one of the girls was saying, the others are afraid to come up here. Go tell them to come up here. Well, my DH says, Hey guys! When we got in line, there were 3 or 4 of you. Now there are more than 12. We got here early, and now you talking about bringing more of your friends up here who didn't get here as early as we did. Well, the kids then said we could go ahead of them. They were actually very nice. I was getting very irritated with the kids. It is one thing if one or two people in your party goes to the restroom, or to get a map, etc. It is another to let 20 of your closest friends join in you in line. Big difference in my book.

We then go to the front of the park to wait for the opening ceremony. DD is picked to help open the park and is given a magical moment certificate.

We got to ride EE 3 times. It was awesome!

We went to Tusker House for the character breakfast. We really enjoyed it.

Rode the Safari, saw Flights of Wonder, and then Lion King! We also rode Primevil Whirl and Dinosaur. It was a great day.

We came back to the resort to rest this afternoon and this evening.

I really enjoy Pop! It just has a cheery atmosphere.

Tomorrow, I meet Sulley!!!

I'll be texting you girl!

Ak sounded like a nice day. I heard Tusker house was a nice restaurant too. Glad you liked it. Have fun at epcot. Sorry about all the transportation issues. That sounds horrible. My DH would of freaked out.

Where is everybody?????

I have a quick question for everybody..... sorry if it is long but i need advice....

My Dh has a DS from a previous relationship... last year we took him with us to WDW but he lived with us at the time. Now he has moved back to his mothers house. it would be ok but the reason he moved back is because they were going bring charges against her because she is a welfare lady has been on it since he was born he is 16 now. so anyways she convinced him to move back and he stopped talking to us for about 3 months. We have started talking again and he comes over for weekends when he wants. I was wondering if i should tell him to come with us. I would make it hard cause i will have him or his mother pay his airfare and spending money and we'll pay the vacation. afterall he is still part of the family. don't know what to do... my DH was really upset and hurt when he left. He actually told his DS that if he left that any extras that we did we will not include him in it but he didn't care and left anyway. He left last August....just to throw this out there... my DH has ALWAYS taken care of his son financially and emotionally wihtout the use of the court system... last april she went to court to ask for child support.... my dh didn't mind but she screwed herself because my DH get paid a lot in cash so not all of it goes on this paychecks so based on that they only awarded her $40 a week.... can u beleive all that hassle for that.... she is what you would really say is a Ghetto hispanic woman.... would u just leave it alone? just go us 3 or would u tell him to come along as well...

MORNING EVERYONE!!!

sounds like everyones weekends were good

mine was really odd - ever since bob and i started working similar shifts - we are basically inseperable on the weekends and i barely saw him at all...

friday - i was home all alone while bob and my brother jake went to his friends house to catch up, and be boys and play xbox... yuck! i definately sdtayed home and watched season of disney - any one else catch it?? i didn't care for it... but i can't WAIT for next week... "disney on a dime"

sat - i went scrapbooking with a few friends and my sis tagged along... i just couldn't get into it (which is strange) - - - no inspiration i guess... but, i did finish 2 pages for my wedding guest book and i still need to finish 2 more pages - then i'm done IT'S SO CUTE!!! went home with casey (my sister) and ordered chinese and watched dexter all night and part of the next morning we couldn't get enough - i turned her into an addict like me!!! that show is soooo good!!! anyone else watch??

sun- went and finished up some wedding stuff - went to michaels and bought my aisle runner and more scrapbook stuff and went to the church with my friend sarah to try and get an idea of how to set some stuff up - - - then i finally got to see my future hubby when afterward we met him at "famous dave's" - the bbq place (my 1st time there - yummy!!! )

so that's what i did...

sea - you're $$$ is getting sent out today - THANKS AGAIN! i'm excited

jo - yes!!! nervous, but excited and just ready to party the night away and then be in sunny florida!!!

and guess what!!!

12 days til the wedding!!!

14 days til i'm boarding my flight for wdw!!!

Marilyn, Just take this vacation with the 3 of you. I can sympathize with you I wouldnt worry about it now. you planned this whole vacation and if dh son wants to be apart of his life he can still do that after Disney. It sound like the 3 of you really need a break.
