May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise!

tonight is my last night to work 7pm to 7am before the trip...then i have to make magnets, finish cleaning, make bracelts packs, make child packs and other goodies, and check off all the last minute things to do!!!!!

Hi Everyone

With people starting to leave for our great vacation adventure, I thought I would remind everyone about how you can get your lanyards and name badges.

1. I will be at the Hyatt on May 11th. I plan to be in the lobby from 9:00pm to 9:30pm for anyone staying there on the night before the cruise. So stop by and pickup your lanyards if you are staying at the Hyatt on May 11th.

2. I will probably be at the port at about 11:00am. I will find a spot and have the lanyards available once I get checked in. It shouldn't be to hard to find me. I will be the guy with the open suitcase giving out lanyards. I will be available in the terminal right up to when they call my number.

3. I will have the lanyards and name badges with me at the 3:00pm dismeet on deck 10, starboard, above the goofy pool. I will be there from 3:00 until about 3:45 or so. Stop by and meet the people you've been typing to for so long.

4. If we don't connect at one of these locations, it is now up to you to find me. We are in room 6547, so you can call and setup a time and location to connect. I WILL NOT be leaving the lanyards and name badges at your door.

I can not agree with her more!! We had to do the same thing. Faxed the congressman Wed, it went out on Thursday and she had it Friday. It seems like an awful waste of money to miss the cruise because of not having your passport. Not to mention that you won't get your money back if you do miss it for that!!!

well in OK our senators and Representative did nothing but send a coupe emails each...all that we had done i did and never did we get anyone to send it the next day...it took a week after expediting mine and 2 1/2 wweks for DH...i am less than impressed that they could not help me like they did others...if our trip had truly left on May 5 like i kept telling them, we would have been royally screwed! :mad:

Scott - she is so excited to be going. Still no scuba card - that is supposed to be next month, but she will enjoy snorkling at least. I am a bummed that I can't join you all, but I am thrilled that Adrienne will be able to.

Her arm is a bit bruised, but thankfully, it should be fully healed by the time she arrives in Orlando. It wasn't just Linda - Ken, Shari, and of course, her husband all had a part. But as we all know - when Linda sets her mind to something, it will happen. :lmao:

She probably won't check in online. With only a week to book the cruise, book air travel, do laundry, pack, get the store ready to leave with the staff for two weeks, I don't think she will have much time for sleeping - at least not until Friday night when she gets on the plane.

Heck - we had to track down our travel agent. He was sitting on a cruise ship in San Diego, waiting to sail on a repo cruise to Vancouver. He was somehow able to book it all in only 30 minutes.

Me - I get to sit back and watch the fun! popcorn::



I think Adrienne got the last Cat 11. We booked her a Cat 12, and her assignment to 11 came through yesterday.

Yeah, I called them last Thursday and got told the same thing. Still haven't got them, so I called today and they checked and the request went in, they just have no idea when I will get them...<I believe the correct answer is NEVER>:sad2: :guilty:
With everyone calling, I decided to try that too. I didn't get someone that was very helpful at first. When I mentioned others were calling and getting different answers, she actually asked for my reservation number and put me on hold for 10 minutes. She came back and said that they don't have anything to do with the magnets, but she sent a message to the marketing department and I should be receiving the magnets. I won't hold my breath either.

Linda, I haven't received my magnets yet, either, and yet I have not made one single change since I signed up, not even an excursion cancellation. That "so many changes" excuse is used often, I found, when THEY mess up.
 
My husband is in marketing, and from the little I understand about it, it sure seems that most marketing objectives center around luring customers to a particular product or service. Why in the world DCL marketing department would send magnets to booked, avid Disney fans, is a mystery to me. Are they trying to keep us from cancelling? "We'll give you a magnet so please don't cancel your $5000 dollar vacation, K?" AND THEN, all the discontent it breeds when magnets aren't received. Sounds like ineffective marketing to me.

They should just pack up their little shoe boxes and go home.

PS I still want my magnets

Yet another busy day. I keep alternating between estatic that we leave in only 2 1/2 days :banana: and panicked that we leave in only 2 1/2 days:eek:

Secret Mickey gift--finally had time to go downtown during a week day to pop into my favourite gift shop. The owner is a Disney and DCL nut too. So he carries some fun things. One more thing off the list.

Contracts--we just printed the ONE page that had the signature lines. Not the contract itself or all the now linked in some way names that were on there. My understanding is that is all that we need.

Ok, I printed our online check-in Signature Form and it was 5 pages for two of us.

Pg 1 - We both signed that we had read and had our attorney's review the contract and agree to everything. :coffee:

Pg 2 - My credit card info and signature

Pg 3 - Passport & emergency contact info for both of us

Pg 4 - Jeannine's credit card info and signature

Pg 5 - Same stuff as page 3 <why, I don't know, ask the person with the shoebox!> :laughing:
 
We have disjointed air (yeah I know we all do), we leave out of Manchester Airport here in NH. We return to Logan airport in Boston (45 minutes south of MHT). The plan was to leave our car in Manchester (free parking) and get one way rental cars in Boston to drive up to our vehicle. The one way, one day rental price for this starts at $95:scared1: AND we need two cars to fit us all:scared1: :scared1: I really do not want to call in favour form a friend (yes, I know how could we leave this till the last mintue, we both thought the other had already done it)--though I will if we have to--I have called a couple of towncar services I found online for the Boston area. The quotes I am getting are for over $250 ONE WAY for this 45 minute trip (way more than equivelant shuttles in Orlando charge). Does anyone know of an economical alternative to this?????? Can you recomend someone?

Ok, I don't live there but a couple of thoughts that I have are:

Rent a really big van instead of 2 cars

Look online for discount coupons for car rentals

Call your friends and offer to buy/make them a spectacular dinner for picking you up.

I live about 30-45 min from the airport and would not hesitate to pick up my friends, so call them and give them a chance to help out.
 
What size was the font??????
It was normal. It just had all these links to it with dining, Palo's, etc., etc., I am going to bring the 1st 25 pages and ask the CM "how many pages would you like?"

Hadley, I have faith in you to remember, besides what time are you planning on arriving at the terminal? We can always try and arrive close to the same time and I can get them at that point.



Just a question on the Mini Navigators, do you have a file or a link to a web page that I can print one out before I go?

I'm still typing, formatting, adding clip art, etc. It is a word document, but probably won't be ready for the printer til tomorrow night. I might be able to send to you on Thursday.

The Manchester airport has a shuttle that runs from downtown Boston to the airport for free but you must have a boarding pass for a flight out of MHT for that day to use it (says this in big, bold, red letters several times on their website). I called this morning and the info. person said "no exceptions" but I persisted so she sent me to the voice mail for the man in charge any way. Man in charge just called back and totally gets that we are using the airport and therefore should get to be on the shuttle and is faxing a letter to Dave's office to use to get onto the shuttle upon our return:banana: :banana: Yikes:scared: just squeeked by on that one. Now we'll just need to take two subways (or a taxi) to the downtown pick up point. Either way should be reasonable compared to the other options. I guess it pays not to take "no" for an answer.
 
Pat--sorry, in my panic over transfers I missed your post. I think we will be getting to the terminal right around 10:00. Then I can relax and know I have not missed the boat. Surely after all this discussion the topic of skirts will come up at the wine and cheese meet and I will have them out of that big black bag:rotfl:
