I missed who it was who needed air info from the west coast. I've done a lot of research -where are you coming from? LAX to MCO was $119pp one way on Delta.

I was thinking also that someone posted yesterday about Barcelona to Boston? for $399 one way?

Barcelona to Boston for $399? WOW!!! Even if you need to fly into another city, you can find cheap Jet Blue flights for $99 or less or Airtran, as well.

Don't just look into all connecting flights. Or fly into a city maybe a few hours fro your city and rent a car.

Hi,

We bought Barcelona to Boston for $380pp (yes that is with all taxes, fees, etc.). This was the average for 2 adults and 2 kids. Kids are discounted on SwissAir. I think it was $420 per adult and then $340 per kid but I do not really remember the break down. We are tarveling home on Monday (since it is a holiday and DH won't miss any more work and it gives us time to explore Barcelona). We booked these a couple of weeks ago and at that time you could leave on Sat. evening (with one heck of a long lay over in Zurich--something like 8 hours through the nigth) or Sunday morning for the same rate. I don't know what might still be left (we bought through Expedia--nice as it quotes in dollars rather than Euros!). There was also a 9:50 flight out Saturday morning for that rate but that seemed much too early to feel comfortable that you would not miss the flight home.

My in-laws from Denver will be doing what you were talking about, flying to Boston with us and then using a very cheap Southwest flight out of Manchester, NH the next day to get the rest of the way home.

Have any of you kidless grown-ups always wanted to be in Mickey Mania (or other game show requireing a kid)? I have an 8 year old boy you can "borrow" if you want to. Rio LOVES Mickey Mania (any chance to be on a stage really) and has gotten to do it twice (once with Mommy, once with Daddy). We hate to do it again and take away someone else's chance to have fun, but we also hate to tell him he can't try to be picked as it is so fun for him. So, we figure we can compromise and let him try again if it allows a kid a heart the chance to try.

Brings a whole new meaning to the concept of "child swap" doesn't it? heheheh :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know if we'll want to play Mickey Mania on the cruise or not....but when we're in DisneyWorld I often want a little one with me so I look less ridiculous standing to wait in line for Dumbo and Aladdin and Triceratops Spin...but then I just say WHAT THE HECK! And I hop on anyway....anyone who can't get why a grown up should ride Dumbo doesn't belong in Disney!

:tigger:

Our big question is how much money will it be?

Yeah!!! That is the question!!! We figure we will be lucky to know what category we get two weeks prior and then want to see what it will cost to upgrade from there. Figure better have the credit card and a crash cart...not necessarily in that order!!!

This is where I get to show my lack of DCL cruising experience - which show is Mickey Mania? Is that the Game Show they do on Disney Trivia in the Theater? It's been a while since I've done a DCL cruise.....but if that's the game I'm usually disqualified since I'm a former cast member :earboy2: and they pump us fill of trivia to be prepared to answer guest questions. Although I'm sure I'm rusty enough now that it *could* be a fair game...it's been 5 years since I've been 'on stage' having to know all that stuff and if you don't use it you lose it.:scratchin

PS found a good picture - need to get it scanned and sent off ...

Mickey Mania is the Jeopardy like game they do in Studio Sea. Seems like there are always photos of it in the brochure, on the video, etc. I have never heard them disqualify former CMs (like they do for Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer) but who knows?

Erik, way to go on just doing it anyway. You're right that someone does not belong at Disney if s/he does not understand grown ups who never really did. I was just thinking for games like Mickey Mania or Walk the Plank which REQUIRE a team of one big one little that someone may want to borrow a little.

On the other side of things, I have taken coutneless kids whose parents cannot stomach it on the Teacups at WDW. I can only think of 3 or 4 times (out of a ridiculous number of rides) that we have not picked up a stray.

OOPS, :tilt: I'm a big dork. When I wrote this I meant How much it would cost to upgrade with DCL, not for holding our places in line. However, you have given me a great idea for a new Dis-related business!!!:tiptoe:

:idea:That's It! It was the Who Wants to be a Mousketeer that I couldn't do. They were cool about it though - they let me be a "judge".:smooth:

We ride everything too Erik...:tink:it's part of the Magic. Well I do :rolleyes1 - Mike gets a touch of motion sickness on some things.

Regarding the kiddy rides:

My favorite DL sightings over my many, many visits are the grandparents flying on Dumbo together while their gkids are in the Dumbo in front of them. And I just love when I see Mary Poppins and Bert riding together. Nobody ever, ever has to be concerned about what fun they enjoy at a Disney park.

PS: Walt rode them, so we ride them!!!!!!!

PSS: Mike can stand with Jonathan at the base of all the rides :wave2: drinking coffee, while you ride them with Zoe and I. Which reminds me I pulled out the motion sickness meds and will email you the info.

Sorry Ken,

Please add DD Marika (10)

I am also wondering about the upgrades at check-in. Is this for any catagory? Is there a big discount?:upsidedow
