Yes, for us too, the beaches and the amusement parks are not an option for us since we have 100 miles of beach 10 min. from our house and we live in amusement park capital (actually you Floridians have taken that title!) But we're really big on the sitting, looking and of course, eating! We just want to soak up the atmosphere. Erik, you would love living here.

Nicholas, it would be great if you guys want to join us to go to the dancing!!!!!!!!:cool1:

And I think you can add one more CC excursion in between 2:01-2:59:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You guys are going to have a great time and then need a vacation after that day!!!

To the grass skirts - I think that the women should get to vote on the best hula dancer. You do have to hula don't you?

My hips have no rhythm.:lmao:
Just staying vertical can be challenging sometimes.:sad2:

;) Yes, maybe some snorkeling??? We know it's a lot but we figured that we'd have 6 sea days after that to unwind. I've wanted to parasail forever - so I didn't want to miss this chance + the EcoTour sounded like fun...the rest of the time we'll be at Serenity Bay. :beach:

South Orlando? I'm near Lake Nona.

Some of us have been planning a possible pre cruise Orlando BBQ. Are you interested?

HEY! We are nieghbors! We are in Hunter's CReek. Sure, a BBQ would be a lot of fun! We're in!

We will be Chuck (55), Connie(54) and Patrick (29).

Hey cquick? Am I wrong or does your Carnival cruise leave before the end of the Disney Cruise?

Will they be set up to clear people the first day in Barcelona?

You are right! We do leave on Carnival before the actual "end" of the DCL cruise, but we asked when we booked, and they said we could disembark on Friday early am. We will have a very tight schedule to get to the airport and fly to Rome!

Welcome to all the more recent newcomers if I haven't said so yet.....we get so many new people all the time that I feel like I should just open every post with :welcome:!!! :rotfl2: :surfweb:

Seriously though...welcome to all the newbies and those who've been on here for a while but have only just committed to actually getting on the ship with us!!;)

Nicholas & Mike (OH_6)---nice picture....good to put faces with names! (And of course there aren't enough compliments for all those lovely grass skirt pics:rotfl: :rotfl: Every time I look at them I'm reminded of the Lion King when timon puts on a grass skirt and dances to distract the hyenas!!  )

Hey Bob, just heard about an announcement on Roadio Margaritaville about something for JB music collectors???? Sould be within the next hour.

Hey gydell...we're doing the DCL aquarium tour and then going to Park Guell (or soemthing like that). Then in the afternoon we may try to find our own way to the Barcelona Zoo.

I don't know...I'm not like some of you...I fixate on things I love....like I never even get tired of going to our crappy little park zoo here just to see the animals there even though often times you can see a better selection of animals in a pet store (and for the record I never walk past a pet store without going in). I can visit the same animal parks over and over and over and never get tired of them and I always want to see whatever zoo or animal park is wherever I'm going. My absolute dream woudl be to retire one day and just travel from zoo to aquarium to zoo all over hte planet!!

Nicholas & Mike...you're going to love parasailing. We did it at Castaway Cay on our Feb. 06 cruise and it was NOTHING like we expected....one you're in the air it is so silent and clear and peaceful up there you can't imagine...and GORGEOUS....we thought it was such an awesome experience. We almost considered do it again this year but we decided to go for things we hadn't done before and Jason REALLY wanted to do the kayaking and I really wanted to do the stingrays!

I think that might be about the Texas Stadium CD/dvd.
Took forever to release. Will be out in April.
With George Strait and Alan Jackson.

I have researched Barcelona and Dublin (where we're going afterwards) and identified lots of bus tours (there are tons for Dublin and a few for Barcelona). It seems like the less-walking DCL ones are more aimed at leaving Barcelona, and the actual Barcelona ones are pretty walking intensive. If anyone's interested in my research, I am happy to share! Also, if anyone has any ideas for us, do tell.

Just Dance instead of Walking!

But Really, I understand Barcelona is one of the most Handicapped acessible towns in Spain. The Carnival cruise is offereing an accessible excursion, so I think there would be an accessible bus or private tour for you there. I think the public transportaion looks good for us, even though Patrick is in a wheelchair. Since he can step up a few stepts, I think we'll be fine. I know his dad is not taking him on any of the long tour bus rides such as the ones offered to Florence or Pisa because he might have a seizure and that's hard to handle so far from the ship.

As far as Dublin, our friends who are from England ( and are visiting us right now) just got back from there and stayed at a very nice handicapped accessible hotel right across the bridge from Temple Bar and they went to a pub that had Irish music and dancing and good food. They are out shopping right now, and I will PM you when they get back.

Added Kissimmee to the roster! I am assuming you are in 2 staterooms? The list grows and I hope that some of our friends on the roster join us here as we get closer!

Our excursions are

Mercedes Forest and Tanganana - Tenerife 8:30 am
Explore the Rock on your own - Gibraltar 9:15 am
Jerez de la Frontera and Royal Equestrian School w/ Show - Cadiz

Nothing planned for Barcelona as the excursion we wanted never has shown up as available. So we will do that one on our own. I have never done any activities on Castaway Cay. I just love enjoying the time on the island :cool2:

:hippie: Hey, where is everybody? out shopping on a Saturday afternoon? I am stuck at home because the orthopedist said I cannot bear weight on my left knee for another 5 weeks!

:yay: I gotta get ready for dancing on the cruise! So I'll be good for now!

I am here :) I really should have gone into my office to catch up a bit, but I am too comfy here at home playing with my new toy. I bought a new Canon Rebel Digital XTi   I have no idea how to use it!! Never had a camera with real lenses before so I have a bit to learn before the cruise!

So I am reading alot and maybe will go out later to take some pictures:cool2:

I'm around too, cleaning my desk, organizing all my notes for this vacation of a life time. And making the big list to count down all the details of what needs to be done before leaving. UGH:scared1:

We're a group of 8 considering booking this transatlantic but we're looking at air arrangements first. Has anyone booked air thru Disney only one way(out of BCN to JFK) or do you find it better to book separately? We've done 6 Disney cruises but always booked our own airfare because it was out of MCO. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated since the air thing is really confusing to us. Thanks in advance.

Book on your own - its way cheaper. And let us know if you join, we'd love to have you!

We only have one way air through Disney, BCN - MCO. My parents live in FL, and so DH and I are just using SW travel funds to get ourselves from our home city to Orlando and back.

So who, pray tell, Rio's favorite High School Musical character?
(and also....if he thinks it's cool that I like HSM....have you gotten to the page yet where we learn that one of fellow cruisers' daughter was actually one of the backup dancers in the cafeteria scene? Now THERE'S someone to be a fan of!!;) ;) )

Add so I quote Rio "Hmm, personally I don't really think I have one favourite character. They're all really good and important to the story. But I guess you could say my favourite one is the most like me. In that case it would be Ryan becasue he is definitly the one like me." After which point we were treatd to JAZZ SQUARES!

Thanks for letting us know about Jamie. We are trying to cue up HMS as I type!

Well, tell Rio he has excellent taste AND that I agree with him. It's funny last night I told Jason that I had asked what Rio's favorite character was and then I could barely answer the question myself....although I narrowed it down to Ryan, then Sharpay (I know she's the "villain"....but much like Nicholas and Mike I have always had a soft spot for the villains in stories----hence my insane love for the musical "Wicked" in which the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West gets to be the star! :thumbsup2 ). Does he have a favorite song? And dance number from the show?
