OK let's do it!

First question is when? I noticed someone else is thinking of a meeting at Disney World on the 11th. Maybe they want to consolidate both events. MY farm is about half way between Coco Beach and WDW so we might be more convenient to those staying on the coast. Not trying to to ruffle anyones feathers. Just thinking out loud.

Of course there may be enough of us in Central Florida to make up an event before the 11th.

Rick

HEY! We are nieghbors! We are in Hunter's CReek. Sure, a BBQ would be a lot of fun! We're in!

We will be Chuck (55), Connie(54) and Patrick (29).

Well, tell Rio he has excellent taste AND that I agree with him. It's funny last night I told Jason that I had asked what Rio's favorite character was and then I could barely answer the question myself....although I narrowed it down to Ryan, then Sharpay (I know she's the "villain"....but much like Nicholas and Mike I have always had a soft spot for the villains in stories----hence my insane love for the musical "Wicked" in which the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West gets to be the star! :thumbsup2 ). Does he have a favorite song? And dance number from the show?

:tigger:

Erik

Rio's favourite song to sing along to is "Start of Something New." And agin I will quote "It is pretty fun to watch 'Get Your Head in the Game' because they are actually dancing around and playing basketball which is a pretty cool combination." I belive he will be singing for the next hour now!

Hi Kissimee,
Of course I cannot answer for Scott and Lynn. They may indeed want to consolidate events. For our part, I totally get you are not trying to step on toes. I also think there are so many people on this thread two events could probably be attended simultaneousl and both be succesful and fun and well attended.. But, I hope the OKW Wine and Cheese gathering stays where it is. We may end up renting a car, but are thinking of just using Magical Express and then taking Tiffany Town Car to the port. This leaves us with no way to get offsite on the 11th. I imagine we are the only ones in this predicament.

Ha Ha :lmao: Great!

My favorite song is....hmm....I do like "Start of Something New" a lot but think my favorite songs are "Breakin' Free" and "We're All In This Together"....in terms of dance numbers I love "Stick to the Status Quo" (in the cafeteria....starring our fellow cruiser, Jamie :cool1: ) and the final dance number....I'm very big on big huge group dance numbers!

Probably the same here....we have to get my parents from DisneyWorld to the airport in the early evening of Friday the 11th and then still try to squeeze a last night of fun in, eat, and pack for checking out of the hotel and the cruise itself. So driving out of the area to an event probably won't be possible for us (we're not even positive we're going to make it to the wine and cheese event...or in our case Diet Coke and cheese event :lmao: :goodvibes :lmao: ).....but I agree with Hadley....the more parties and get togethers and events and chances to hang out and get to know each other the better!! So party on folks!!!

My family would LOVE to do this, but we would be so much more comfortable going with a group. We don't speak Spanish, have a 5 year old, and are a bit intimidated roaming around an unknown foreign city after dark! Is someone already organizing a trip to this location? Any suggestions on how to do this?

Kelly (milestogo) has mentioned it.....and if she decides to organize something I think Jason and I would go for sure...because it does sound fun and based solely on the amount of time she's spent educating herself about the ports and what there is to do and where to go....I believe if she organized it she could get us there!!!:thumbsup2

Castaway Cay...none, we are going to play on the beach!

Tenerife, Canary Islands..."Tenerife, Teide, & the Garden of the Valley"

Cadiz, Spain..."Jerez de la Frontera and Royal Equestrian School with Show"
(With Palos for dinner...it will be our 15th wedding anniversary!)

Gibraltar, UK...none, the two we are interested in are booked, but I am going to look into making our own tour!

Barcelona, Spain..."Barcelona and Codorniu Cellars" and then hopefully a trip to the fountains that evening.

Can't wait! Anyone else want to share?

Kissimmee and cquick, Im also in Kissimmee, near The Loop, and would join in any party or events that are planned. If it comes through, let me know how DW and I could assist.

Hi everyone

It was a great day in So. Cal. today, but we had some high winds. Went for a bicycle ride - it's lots of fun to go 30mph with the wind but a real pain to fight the same wind coming back. I keep hoping the wind would change direction - but it didn't happen. :lmao:

Everyone have a great day tomorrow!

I see your point for those that are using Disney Transportation. Makes it hard to consider something off site.

My goal when I first conceived the idea for the Jun 6th cruisers was an event for the kids to meet and have a fun day. (lots for kids to do on the farm). Wine and Cheese may be more of an adult function. Possibly I can offer an alternative for families with children if it does not detract from what Scott and Lynn have in mind.

I'm happy to accommodate whatever people think is best.

Sounds good. I think we will plan something in April. That way it won't conflict with what others have going on closer to the cruise.

If it works out that it's appropriate to do it again the day before the cruise then we could plan for that as well.

Tentatively I'll plan on Saturday April 28th.

OK, OK, OK I'll scope out the details with Sue from our 11 night and find out how, when, where etc. Give me a couple of days as we are having nice weather out here, so we're going to Disneyland tomorrow!

The May Epcot meet is a semi joke, mostly real meet at the Epcot Offkilter stage, where Debbie will be hosting the party!

The only thing I've booked is a pedicure the afternoon we board the ship (I'll have happy feet for the whole cruise:cool1: )
We'd love to tag along with anyone sightseeing on their own.

I'm not sure when I'm heading down to FL yet. Mary is sailing on the Wonder 5/6-5/10 with family so she'll have 2 WDW days between cruises.
The best air I could find home from Barcelona is on 5/27 so we're staying in Barcelona for 1 night after we get off the ship. I booked a hotel near the airport (free shuttle to airport-we have a 9:50AM flight out Sun).

Cadiz, Spain..."Jerez de la Frontera and Royal Equestrian School with Show"
(With Palos for dinner...it will be our 15th wedding anniversary!)

What day is your anniversary? May 21 is our 16th.

We are doing the morning "Barcelona and Codorniu Cellars" as well. I'll pull up my list and post; so far unless I missed something, no one's going on anything we picked except that!

Ours is May 22nd. 15th wedding anniversary, but we will have been together for over 18 years. Half my life! Wow! How time flies when you're having fun!

Here is what we have planned; Tenerife --Tenerife Wine Experience
Cadiz -- Cadiz city walking tour
Gibraltar -- Gibraltar walking tour
Barcelona -- Gaudi and Barcelona

We planned all our excursions early in the day so we could keep our afternoons open...for some shopping??!!
I know there has been some talk about flea markets, you can count me in on any shopping expeditions for sure!:woohoo:

We're a group of 8 considering booking this transatlantic but we're looking at air arrangements first. Has anyone booked air thru Disney only one way(out of BCN to JFK) or do you find it better to book separately? We've done 6 Disney cruises but always booked our own airfare because it was out of MCO. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated since the air thing is really confusing to us. Thanks in advance.
You might look at flying from another city back to NYC. We found some really cheap rates from BCN to London and will be flying home from there. (easyjet.com) I know some are flying to Paris first before flying home as well.
