. . . We were lucky enough to be on the inaugural crossing and just couldn't pass up the chance to do it again.
So you probably remember Boyz II Men, Bob Saget, and the premiere of Twice Charmed.

We saw an amazing movie last night - Juno.

We had passes for a free screening. We think it is probably the best movie we saw this year. I was afraid a movie about teen pregnancy would end up being more of an afternoon special but it was very funny - not in a raunchy way. The girl who plays the title character is an amazing actress!

Lisa....I'll keep the pixiedust:, thoughts and  going in your direction. It sounds like things are taking a slow but positive turn in the right direction. Bet it is nice having Daniel home!

I have seen some previews and reports on this and it looked like a great movie. Glad to hear it was as good as it looked!

V...I am due to be in Tampa for a few days in January for a seminar. Interested in trying to meet up? Is it about 1-1.5 hours from you? I can't remember since I haven't been back to Bradenton/Sarasota area since 2000. I will know more details in the next week or so. I think the seminar is at the Hilton Tampa Airport hotel...great digs! :lmao: I, of course, tried to figure out a way to bring the family and sneak in a trip to WDW, but finances wouldn't allow.:confused3

Also, my mom just told me one of her good friends just opened up a cupcake business in Sarasota. Such a small world.

Hi everyone!! I feel so bad that I haven't caught up...just doing these drive by posts. I'm in Minneapolis with my sister tonight, staying at the Westin. We will drive to Alexandria (about 2 1/2 hours north) tomorrow to visit our Grandmother. Just fly up to say hi, nervous she might not make it through the recovery of her hip surgery (she's 98).

So what is up with the Villa??? I love the sound of it, but not sure what it is about. We usually make a reservation at a hotel at the ports, try to get a day rate but sometimes can't. I love hanging out at hotel pools. I can try to catch up, but am afraid I might not be able.

I'm sure I'm missing tons...but did see that Lisa's DFIL had surgery. Hope all is well. And Marilyn is back. Yeah! And Deb states that Noel is right about something, which isn't surprising because I find her always right! And I know there is so much more....I'm sorry I can't keep up. With the holidays, work, family, parties....you all know! So excited we can start to discuss excursions! So what is the deal with the villa?? Lisa

Hi Lisa, hope all goes well for your grandmother.....it's good that you are there!

The villa is an excursion....you rent for the day, I think 3 hours, no price listed, but it sounds divine! I think it's in Cabo....but don't quote me on that. It allows up to 12 people.....so some on here want to try to get it and share. Sounds like you might be interested.

Cabo San Lucas villa:
Exclusive Private Villa

Experience the beauty and tranquility of Cabo San Lucas from the exclusive hillside manor of Casa Miramar.

Withdraw to the sweeping natural splendor of Cabo San Lucas — where gentle rolling hills mingle with verdant tropical desert terrain — during a scenic 15-minute, air-conditioned van ride the pier to the elegant hilltop villa known as Casa Miramar. Overlooking the scenic spot where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet known as Land's End, Casa Miramar is a stately four-bedroom estate boasting spectacular views of Cabo San Lucas town and bay, which features luxurious state-of-the-art amenities including a whirlpool tub and an infinity-edge pool. Upon your arrival, meet and greet your chef and attendant, and then savor a sip of a refreshing beverage before embarking on a tour of the exquisite abode, which is yours to enjoy for the course of the day.

During your visit, lose yourself to the breathtaking coastal views that surround you in all directions. Immerse yourself in a relaxing swim in the pool or drift off amidst the cool sea breezes from the comfort of a cozy hammock. Soak up the sun from a lawn chair or snap a picture of the winding shoreline from your hillside perch. Explore the extensive garden, home to a wide array of tropical flowers and plants, or simply sit back, relax and enjoy a movie or television show in front of the 52-inch television. Then, indulge in an authentic mouthwatering Mexican feast cooked to order by your own personal chef before indulging in a reinvigorating massage or afternoon siesta. After your three-hour visit, begin your 15-minute trip back to the ship, during which you can opt to be dropped off at Sammy Hager's world-famous bar, Cabo Wabo, or Puerto Parasiso Mall for some world-class shopping.

I am a little ticked....I won something on ebay which I plan on giving to the Aruba jeep peeps and I asked the seller at the end of the auction if they had more. NO was the answer. My auction ended Tuesday and now this same seller listed the same item again, when they told me no, they didn't have any more.
That's terrible customer service!

OK....I think I said 2 hours ago that I was heading to bed. Oops! This time I'm really going! My morning alarm will be trying to wake me up in a few very short hours. Goodnight all!

Holly & Deb-
Thanks for the info! And the wishes regarding my Grandmother. I love the idea of the villa. Is there just one? Yikes...wish I was in a suite now more than ever! Lisa

EEEEEWWWWW.....I'm getting flowers tomorrow....I ordered from 1-800-Flowers for a bouquet to put on the table for the open house when mom's house went to auction. Now I get emails from them all the time. I see the flower arrangements and I'm a sucker for fresh flowers. John used to bring me wild flowers all the time while dating.....and still does at times. But I saw a Christmas bouquet of white lillies and red roses.....that was my wedding bouquet. I just had to order them.

Of course my driveway is all ice and they won't be able to get up it. John plowed tonight but that only takes care of the snow. I hope the delivery truck has good tires.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm not sure how many are available....it doesn't say. If there are many, then it sounds like I'll have to change my excursion and join in the party!!!!! Could you see us taking over the building......YES!!!!!!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hi all!!

We are a DCL-loving family of 5 from southern California. :wizard:

Karen

Hi there! Welcome to the group! There's a few of us from Southern Cal. Early on I planned a DISmeet at DL and there were 36 of us there!!!! Where in So Cal are you? We're in the Temecula Valley.

Oh...and just read page one of this thread...all the info is there....believe me, you don't want to read through 2600 pages!!

I think I just have too many memories in there and there's no room left!!! I wish we could just buy more memory like we can with our computers!!!

:lmao: :lmao:

That would be so cool!!!:rotfl2:
Hi everyone!!

Quick drive by "hi".....this are SOOOOOOOOO CRAZY at work this week - I'm doing someone else's job this week and next as they are on vacation. Very stressful trying not to make ANY mistakes!

Have had NO time to DIS....need to catch up on I don't even know how many pages...but won't be able to do this until Saturday at the earliest.

Hope everyone is going well...I really miss being able to chat with you.

:grouphug: s to anyone/everyone who needs one....sorry not person specific :sad1:

Did everyone get home ok from WDW? I hope so.
Any news about Laura? How about Julie (mexicanmouseketeer)? Linda (Seaulater)? Was wondering also if the Connie at works at POR is the same Connie "Cork" from MD.....anyone know????

Ok got to go finish up so I can get out of here....
 to all!

I heard from a friend of Laura's that she had the op in Aug/Sept and some treatment and is now back at work full time. She was giong to pass on that she was being missed on here. Laura still plans to be on the cruise. I would love it if she came back on here.

Checked out a couple of excursions just now...

Anybody want to go in on that private villa in Cabo? Wonder how much that puppy costs?

I'm looking at the Shopping, Flavors & Traditions in Acapulco....any excursion that takes place in a restaurant can't be all bad!

Maybe the Puerto Vallarta City Tour...just wish one could cancel at the last minute based on weather....I'm such a heat/humidity weannie.

Aruba (if I don't SNUBA) might be the DelPalm Island Beach & Snorkeling...has a good lunch :thumbsup2 on that one!

Cabo needs more research...Nikki Beach or the Pool at Finisterra Resort?
Or maybe on my own...to lunch at a wonderful place Peggy recommended that I can't remember the name of right now....SENIOR MOMENT.

A visit to cruisecritic is in order, I think.

:grouphug: to all...time to head home.

I fancy that villa!!!

I wish! Flight schedules just never seem to work out right to get us to MCO before noon. Hopefully this year we'll be able to find a better schedule. Haven't looked at flights yet.

Good job you hadn't booked with adding Tyler.

No change in DFIL. The artifical heart is still keeping him alive and the venilator is still breathing for him. He looks terrible. His eyes are black, like he has two black eyes from being in a fight. His entire body is swollen, his hands are just huge. His color is terrible.

I stayed with him for about a half an hour. He has a private nurse. She said the best thing we can do from him right now is to leave him alone to get better.

Visits are only for very short times and no one but us can come into the CVICCCU (Cardio Vascular Intesive Critical Cardiac Care Unit). Two of Frank's friends are Philipinno and they snuck into the unit...can you imagine? The nurse told me she escoted them out and told them not to come back.

The nurse said where last night he was not stable at all....now he is much more stable. He is "critically Ill" but "stable".

Well it is slow but good progress. It is quite frightening to see a loved one looking so ill isn't it?

Good night. I am getting up at 5am to take Vanessa to an Exchange Field Trip to NY. (just need to drop her about 1 hour from our house) It was so funny because I told her I needed to check my e-mail to make sure the trip was not cancelled. She was like "why in the world would it be cancelled" and I said "It is snowing like crazy in NY" ... she laughed (being from Norway) ..... she has never heard of anything being cancelled becasue of snow!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Vanessa is leaving and Daniel is home from school!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

One Semester down!! He thinks he got 1 - A, 3 - B's, and 1 - C. Not bad for his first semester!! He just loves college!!

Daniel is doing very well.:thumbsup2 Will be a lovely Christmas for you all.

We just got off the Magic (well two weeks ago) and we had rebooked a "dummy" reservation, just waiting to transfer to this cruise once it opened up. :thumbsup2

We have two rooms on guarantee and I will be working hard to get connecting rooms (of any category). :surfweb:

I have 2600 (!!!) pages to catch up on. Hope to "meet" everyone and join the fun. :dance3:

I need to make myself a fish extender I guess....I would just buy one, but Mickey is one I am not that huge a fan of.

I got the materials and I think I start make it myself after Xmas but trouble is that I cannot find the hanger!!

I still keep looking for it.
