Lisa, So what havent you seen yet? Giraffes and Leopard I think, right? Hippos?
I know how you feel Vanessa, I feel like that a lot sometimes too . . . I really like for my house to be neat and clean, but . . .
I’ve learned to think of it differently . . . Life, if you really think of it, disdains order. Life is messy. Life is not a museum, life is a carnival, a free for all. Whenever I have to pick up, or clean up all this stuff (which is hourly too) , I just look at it and tell myself this is the “evidence of life” all around me. Without all this stuff, without all this mess, there would be no life, and I have to be grateful for and remember these times because they do not last forever.
Some day my house may be the cleanest and stay clean for days at a time – only then will I realize what is missing, and I think I will miss it.
Amy has an aunt who always wanted to keep her house like a museum. The living room was an unapproachable place. You were afraid to take children there to visit.
Amy will attest that our house is full of the “Evidence of Life”, and I wouldn’t have it any other way – even though like Angie and Dennis, sometimes I could fill a dumpster with all that evidence!
I agree that the "evidence of life" memories are wonderful. However, I am a clean freak so I am happiest when my house is clean. Even when we travel, we are quite neat and I taught my kids to be the same. I don't mind the messes, just the constant cleanup. We live in the chaos with the GK's now so it is much easier as we are not responsible for the constant cleanup, just short bursts. Just something in my Germanic genes, I guess.
How could I forget Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein or Larry Niven!!!
We have salmon. I think I will wrap it in foil and bake it. Yum! Rice and a veggie with it. And maybe some sour dough bread, buttered and broiled. Won't DrHug be happy to hear no cereal tonight!!![]()
I was afraid of that - probably more violence and sex instead of good stories, which is what I was afraid of. I LOVED those original shows when I was a kid - the Six Million Dollar Man, and the Bionic Woman.
Just out of curiousity Noel, are you a Battlestar Galactica fan? A friend hooked me on that one last year.
Trying to get the TOP of 1960, and then bed. That is my birthyear!
With some of the difficulties with illness several of our friends here are having, I thought this article was a great one.
It's funny what lime green will do to you!!
I look for it everywhere and if I see someone wear it I automatically think DIS!
Our weekend starts tomorrow - so we are going to DL for the day. Tomorrow is the first day of Halloween stuff at the parks. Can't wait to see all the decorations.
Have you ever cruised NYE before? I bet that would be a spectacular cruise to do.
Hey Geeks....cruising next Jan....how about NYE?
Noel, would you do it again next year?![]()

I found out on Friday that they pushed back Star testing one week, which would mean we would miss it all.I'm so frustrated. I wonder when and who I should talk to about this....I always had thought they would make the testing so I was going to just mention to the teachers after the first of the year about the trip. But now, I'm not sure what they will say/do. Maybe if I give enough notice they could schedule a make-up??
Yikes.

Just stopping by with a quick note.
Can't remember if I updated you with the last info on mom...the surgeon detected an irregular heart beat. After a visit with the cardiologist on Friday it has been decided that surgery is still on for Thursday. The hard part on this is that she has a much higher risk for stroke/heart attack during the surgery and mom has a DNR. Much worry I'm afraid until it's over. I'll try to check in between now and then, but I'm feeling a bit outta my mind, so not sure if I am up to it.
We also have some baby news in my family. My cousin's son & girlfriend have delivered their twin girls very early at 27 weeks. Both girls are just over 2 lbs. Nothing seriously wrong with them, but they are on vents and will be in the NICU until they are 5 lbs. Their first child was 4 lbs, so this isn't an uncharter area, but nonetheless scary.

I'm so glad you had success getting rid of stuff on ebay. I sure love the feeling after I've left the post office and have sent packages on their way. Yippee!!!!I just ran to the post office to mail out some ebay items...I am hoping to list some more stuff tonight. Glad someone else wants my junk!
I like the silver ones too and haven't seen many. Labs are just so gentle and good natured! Those Silver Labs are beautiful dogs V . . .
I never had heard of them before - I'm sure that Amy would love that color too. I am really partial to Labs/Lab mixes - I think it is a great choice!
Then you're only 10 years older than me!Trying to get the TOP of 1960, and then bed. That is my birthyear!
We leave Saturday morning. Driving home Tuesday, which is when we'll be making a stop somewhere fun. Leaning more towards the aquarium because Tyler sees horses every week around here. I know.....nowhere the same thing.....but at his age, a horse is a horse!Holly - when are you heading south? I remember driving from N.W. IN to NC with my sister in law and nieces - we drove thru KY and TN and it's a beautiful place - enjoy. Loved Kentucky Horse park (as you can expect)... Tyler is a critter fan - I'll bet he'd like that stop!
Sorry to steal your words Lisa, but these were my exact thoughts. Nan:I will continue to keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers. She must be so scared...I can not even imagine......
