Just stopping by with a quick note.

Can't remember if I updated you with the last info on mom...the surgeon detected an irregular heart beat. After a visit with the cardiologist on Friday it has been decided that surgery is still on for Thursday. The hard part on this is that she has a much higher risk for stroke/heart attack during the surgery and mom has a DNR. Much worry I'm afraid until it's over. I'll try to check in between now and then, but I'm feeling a bit outta my mind, so not sure if I am up to it.

We ended up going to the AG store on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend at Disneyland. Paul & Wilson gave up their race. I needed some away time. I have to say even the Happiest Place on Earth didn't make me happy. I was missing my mom's company the whole time.

.

Mote in Gods' Eye, Lucifers Hammer, Stranger in a Strange Land and on and on...

Both DD and I love Sci Fi, fantasy, thrillers and horror!! I also love mysteries and adventure novels that tie to history, like Clive Cussler books. I also enjoy the police/detective novels like Harry Bosch and Jack Reeper and the Italian detective that is not coming to me at the moment... must be time for bed soon!

Have you guys read "the Historian" yet?

Karen

I have!

If you like historical fiction and horror and detective novels, try "The Alienist" by Caleb Carr.

Lisa, So what havent you seen yet? Giraffes and Leopard I think, right? Hippos?
That is the list exactly - at least for the big animals. Sorry I didn't answer last night - kept getting an error so I gave up.

I have to admit I didn't like the Historian. Felt too much like I should be taking notes while reading.

Sorry to steal your words Lisa, but these were my exact thoughts. Nan:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

Nan - here are more   and pixiedust:

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA!!

Olivia has been kind of sick with the weather changes around here, and I'm trying to work and help my mom renovate her house at the same time.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I'll try to check back in later today.

I miss you guys!!:grouphug:

DEB I know you asked me not to "Harp"on you about this but......
this started to bounce around in my head on the ride in today and now I can't shake it loose :confused3
to the tune of "Three Dog Night's Celebrate"

My sister's house is ALWAYS perfect. She is a neat freak anyway, but she also lives alone, which I know also has it's own set of trade-offs... anyway, sometimes I am very embarrassed when she stops in and my house has WAY too much "evidence" in it!!

Karen

My brother and SIL's house was perfect also. However, their grown children and grandchildren love them, but do not like to go to their house. :sad2: But, they LOVE coming to Aunt Angie and Uncle D's where there is LOTs of evidence of life!
:dance3: :woohoo:

How about

Chuck
Heroes
Journeyman!

!

Good choices from my perspective! :thumbsup2 I just popped in for a bit of Chuck and Heroes, but did watch all of Journeyman. I missed seeing the NBC fall premiere tape this year, so I felt it my duty to check these out.

:grouphug: To all in need and :bday: to PJ and John.

Well, it's my morning to face the scale and report in...think I'm down about 1.5 this week...off to the WISH forum....

Have to share this new pic!

That picture of Sydney was just taken yesterday, and she's wearing the shirt I brought back for her from Calafate, Argentina.

Happy Birthday PJ!!

Happy Birthyear John....is it your bday too or just birth year??

Nan - Know that we are here for you, and that you (and Mom) are in our thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:s, and PD to you.

Happy birthday to the twins too! May they stay strong and continue to grow.

I think it is the other John's Bday - Mine is in June.

1960 was my birth year.

Cute photo!

John - what did you think of Journeyman? Storyline sort of reminds me of Quantum Leap. I taped it to watch tonight.

Washington DC is so beautiful. The weather has been in the high 80's (supposed to be low 70's) and no rain. The grass is so brown....but it is really beautilful.

Vanessa is really enjoying the weather here.....Norway is already really quite cool and dark!!

I have all three of those shows on the DVR - who knows when I will get to see them!

We leave Saturday morning. Driving home Tuesday, which is when we'll be making a stop somewhere fun. Leaning more towards the aquarium because Tyler sees horses every week around here. I know.....nowhere the same thing.....but at his age, a horse is a horse! ;)

Ok, maybe it's my weird sense of humor, but my first response was kinda like a fish is a fish. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: :lmao: :cool1: :thumbsup2
