Deb - I am sure that it is going to be hard on both of you keeping her away. I hope you start healing quickly!

deb, is there any chance you could sneak some greek cooking on the plane in may?:lmao:
Greek food is very popular here and we have Tarpon Springs with the sponge docks and alot of little greek restaurants. Have been trying to be good but had a gyro and mini greek salad today ! YUMMMMM

I know I can just hear us all screaming out! LOL we'll never be able to get checked in with everyone running all over to everyone.
Last year we got the mickey ears colored paint swatches at home depot and put our names on them, they worked well and looked cute.

The mickey ears paint swatches are an EXCELLENT idea....we will do this...of course, if you're not in the terminal early, you won't see me there....unless they give me a number that makes me wait longer....but if I'm on that ship at 11:00am then I'll be sipping my BBC at Signals at the pool at 11:05am and I'll wear my name tag there. John and I go dressed for pool when we get on the boat with our one carryon and we're ready. BBC, pool, hot tub....we get on and we are doin' it mickey style immediately...we get a head start with the whole place to ourselves. So when you all figure out who's who....come on up and first drink for everyone is on us!

Heather asked me to post this pic of Bethany & Tyler. That night hey stayed up until close to 2am I think! They had a blast dancing and playing.

we have all those.
I don't know if this is English or not, but my Grandma always did "round and round the garden like a teddy bear, one step two step tickle under there" while tracing a circle on your hand and then walking up your arm.

Yes, we say that one to babies, and also Incy wincy spider.

OK....I think we're getting somewhere now....the vampires were just here taking more blood....then case management showed up to talk about after care at home....yeahhhhh, I hope this means release date is tomorrow! When I asked, they just told me I'm not going home today. Well it's after 1pm so I know that....how about tomorrow? It's looking pretty good. So sweetie, you're taking the day off tomorrow and getting me out of here!

We will have to do something about our Angel though. I cannot let her near me because she is just too wild and won't listen....not at all like our Gandalf. She's a sassy butt and does as she pleases, which is why I ended up in here. Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I had the edema in the legs, then the puppy jumped on the legs and scratched them when I switched to wearing shorts for the summer. Of course, they got infected...hence, surgery. And now the puppy is seven months old and 70 lbs.
 :headache:

You didn't mention how it all started Deb. She is going to have to be kept away from you.

:rotfl2: Sorry to say this, but they look like what's in baby food jars! :lmao: Blech! But I'm sure they taste delicious with the right meal. :goodvibes

The tinned variety usually have colourings in and can be quite a vivid green.

I imagine that is what it is like to be rich - just having what you want to eat without cooking it!

Someone wanted to know about the other Panama Canal book I bought. Is it Gydell?

Anyway it is

The Building of the Panama Canal in Historic Photographs, by Ulrich Keller.

I also picked up at the same time as I was getting them from Amazon and it took me into the free shipping

The Panama Canal by Cruise Ship, by Anna Vipond
This was more what it says, and quite informative about ports etc as well as the canal. There is a handy pull out map of the locks with cross section of the whole length of the canal showing depths etc.

Thanks for posting that. When I went to bethanys school this morning to volunteer and talk to her teacher, I said something about her missing the last 2 weeks of school and she looked at me in total shock and didnt seem very happy. I said well this is a private school ( which gives more days off then public btw) and I had long talk over the summer with the principal before I paid her whopping tuition about wether she would be penalized or not for missing and explained the reasons. Hubby and I are both medical and or busy season is from sept to may when the snowbirds are down and were basically not allowed to vacation then. she said it was ok but apparently forgot to tell the teacher, isnt that special. Anyway, she ended up being better when I explained I would do whatever need be and that we had until Feb to cancel if beth wasnt making good grades. There is a little Panamal Canal museum here and with that book ill be able to help her with the whole huge report she has to do. Personally I think lifes adventures like that are so much more educational then sitting in a classroom for the last 2 weeks when they usually dont do much anyway.

One of our favourite baby rhymes with actions is This Little Piggy.

With each piggy you twiddle a different toe, then on the last one, after twiddling the little toe, run your fingers up the legs and body to tickle the neck. They do love it.

This little piggy went to market
This little piggy stayed at home
This little piggy had roast beef
This little piggy had none
and
This little piggy went weeeeeeeeee....all the way home.

Please, please, let this NOT be a different meanings over there!!

Now somewhere and I'm not sure if it is this thread much earlier on there was some discussion about school projects to do with the Panama Canal. There are some children's booksaround too.

So here's our awful day. I got a phone call at day care at 10:30am asking me to come pick Tyler up immediately because he's too out of control for them to handle. :scared: My employer wasn't happy, but his dad has already left work twice to remove him in similar circumstances, so I have to take a turn. I got there and it turns out the kids were standing in line for drinks at the drinking fountain and Tyler decided to bite his friend Hunter on the leg REALLY HARD for no reason at all. :sad2: Hunter wasn't doing anything to provoke Tyler, was just standing in line. So when the teacher tried to move Tyler to the back of the line, that's when his rage routine started. He ended up throwing blocks at kids, punching a teacher, tipping over a bookshelf, etc.

He's been warned about what his punishment would be if he had to be picked up from daycare again for acting out like that. So we went home and I boxed up ALL his toys and videos and stacked the boxes in my bedroom. The crazy thing is that he was behaving perfectly from the moment I picked him up and even HELPED me box up his things. Most kids would have been screaming through the whole process, not helping get rid of their stuff. Anyway, he knows he has to have a whole day of good behavior to earn one item back and he'll have a chance every day to earn another item back.

Our house looks pretty funny with all his stuff gone. He say inside his empty toybox and told me he wanted to sit there and think for a while. So he's not allowed to play with the neighbor kids today, not allowed to watch tv today, just sit in an empty house. Well, I didn't take away his books because I feel books should never be taken away as punishment. So he can sit and look at books, but that's all he has access too. Not sure if it will work, but it was worth a try.

Oh Holly!

Did you guys ever get to talk to the ped about it? I can;t recall if you did the allergy testing, etc.

I agree with you Heather!

:rotfl2: Don't worry Marilyn, it's the same meaning! Same rhyme too. In fact, Tyler still likes it!

Now, found these

The Panama Canal by Elizabeth Mann

The Panama Canal by Rachel Lynette

The Panama Canal by Lesley A Dutempe

Not sure of ages etc, and I think the first one was one I saw mentioned before.

I did. She wants to wait and see how he does in kindergarten with just one teacher to listen to, same teacher every day, same age kids every day, more structured environment, etc. His day care has rotating teachers, they all only work a couple days a week, so it's not the same teacher every day, they all have different rules, and all the kids are combined from age 2-8. It's a new thing they're trying--consolidating the toddler room and preschool room. Not a good idea becaues the older kids are getting losing some attention they're used to getting because the teachers obviously have to spend more time with the little ones who can't do as much for themselves as the older ones do. The place used to be wonderful, but has changed lots in a few months.

Anyway, his doc he thinks he might have trouble controlling his impulses, but that I should wait to see if it improves in kindergarten with the above mentioned problems gone. And if it continues or gets worse in kindergarten, she will recommend a behavioral counsellor who can help him recognize when he's starting to lose control and different ways to cope with his anger and methods he can try to prevent completely losing control.
