So everybody must be hard at work today. And the UK folks are probably having dinner. Twiddling my thumbs here. :rolleyes1

I feel like I have not been on the boards in FOREVER! There is no way that I could go back and look at all of those posts I missed :scared1: .

Our family has been going a mile a minute. DD (6) just signed a modeling contract and has been busy with that over the past 3 weeks. We found out on Friday that she booked her first job that shoots this week.

DD (2) is having surgery on Thursday in San Diego (about an hour away). She should be able to come home the same day but we will have to see how her breathing is after anthesisa.

DD (6) photo shoot is scheduled for Wed & Thurs. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to be in 2 places at once! :confused3

We celebrated our DD's birthdays last week by staying at the Disneyland Hotel. It was great as always! We even won Dream Fastpasses one of the days so it was great!

This week will just be crazy. We have to be in San Diego today for doctors appointments, San Deigo tomorrow morning for a doctors appointment, LA in the afternoon for DD (2). Wed is DD (6) photo shoot in LA and then Thursday with DD (6) in LA and DD (2) in San Diego. :scared1:

Hopefully next week I will be able to catch up with all of you!!!

PS - We are still super excited about the cruise!!!

Hmmmm.....maybe I should try to find some actual work to do here. I guess that's why they call it work, huh?! LOL!!!

I hope your younger daughter's surgery goes without a hitch.

Congrats on your older daughter's contract! :thumbsup2 You're going to be super busy!

Glad you had a good time celebrating your daughters' birthdays! They both share the same day for their birthday don't they? Any pics of the fun? :goodvibes

2 hours & 20 minutes left in my work day and still no work to do. You know what's going to happen? I'll get bombarded 20 minutes before I have to leave for class with a stack of work that would take 3 hours to do! LOL! Always works out that way. Oh well.....I'm enjoying my free time now while I can! ;)

I am back from the First Med cruise and all I will say is WOW!!!!!! I want to go back; but until DCL announces a return trip I will be focusing the the WB PC cruise. What a great group of DISers - too bad we had so little time to get together - that trip kept us hopping. I don't know how those others are doing the 10 day - eight days in ports without a break.

Anyway ---

I was lurking over the weekend and found the link to the last PC crossing. During my reading I was reminded that a DISer piloted the ship thru the canal. I have linked him to this thread and we should hear from him soon. His name is Alvero Luis.

Welcome back! Details, please! Pictures to share? :woohoo: Can't wait to hear all about it!

It exceeded my expectations. This cruise was all about land for me so don't ask me anything about what happened on the ship. I would do it again in a heartbeat (if I had the $$ and time off from work of course)

Most days the excursions I picked had us leaving the ship by 8:15 (if not earlier) and we were gone for at least 6 hours, mostly longer. Didn't really have a favorite because each day/port was distincively different and really couldn't be compared with the previous or next. I guess it would be fair to say that I focused more on the historical side of Europe than the contemporary. Deb Wills was part of the travel group so there is a pretty good recap on her blog (www.allearsnet.com).

Ron and Monika hosted a lovely DIS Board Wine and Cheese TOGA party in the Roy Disney Suite on our first sea day. (Thanks again guys). Met some of the DISers, even saw some of them again - but it was hectic. I don't know how those 10 day-ers are going to do it with one less sea day.

I'd get back to the ship, shower and change and off for cocktails with the group before our 8:30 dinner. Did see a couple shows but did not make them a priority (except for the one with Joey Fatone - met him a couple times; very nice young man; extremely friendly and "normal"). There was one show "Mickey Dreams" or something like that - you either loved it or hated it - it depends on what your feelings are about Cirque - I was not on the "fan" side of that show.

The food - I really didn't notice that much about the food on the ship this time - too tired from the day I guess. Most nights I went for the "lighter fare" and passed on dessert. Palo brunch though was another story. Oour reservations were at 10:30am and dinner was at 8:30pm and other than a cookie I didn't eat anything in between. :rotfl2:

How do you post pictures? Maybe tonight from home....

Sorry it is so disjointed. If you have any specifis questions I'll be happy to answer.

That is beautiful photos. Interest to see different place!

I like last one photo of you all and look beautiful too:thumbsup2

Scottishwee35

Yes, I think it is neat to see other places, especially when you live in another country! The pictures of Virginia City are very realistic as to how a real cowboy/mining town in America looked back in the day (minus the cars and telephone poles:lmao: ). It really was like stepping back in time.

Thanks for the compliment on our family, you're very kind!!

Sounds busy but fun! :goodvibes

One of the technologically savvy people here will have to tell you how to post pics. I have no idea how to explain it, I just do it. ;) I upload mine to photobucket.com and then it gives you an img code which you copy and paste into your posting here. But other people here can probably give you more clear directions. :thumbsup2

What cute pictures! Thanks for posting them! The one with Maddy and her donut cracked me up because the donut looks almost as big as her! LOL!!!! I love the towel birthday cakes too! How cute! :goodvibes

How exciting!! Both of my step sisters had modeling contracts when they were young. I remember going around with my step mom and step sisters while they went to shoots (this was in NYC). The older one quit after a while but she did do Ivory Snow. My step sister that's my age did A LOT!!! She paid for college and then some. She did Jello with Bill Cosby and Polaroid with Perry Como (I'm showing my age now). She also had a national TV commercial for a kids toy called U-drive it. Her most recognizable ad was for Johnson and Johnson No More Tears spray. She was the little blond girl, combing her hair, inside the teardrop that was on the bottle. She's now 41 and she was only that bottle from the time she was 5 or so until just a few years back!!! I wish your daughter much success!!!!

I hope your DD2 is OK. I recall her being sick for quite a while. Drew had surgery last summer, he was 4, at CHOC and he threw up the entire car ride home because of his reaction to the anethesia...the 1 hour ride became 3 hours!!! I wish her quick recovery!!!!

Oh how neat! She is excited for her first shoot. She is not overly excited about the drive to LA all the time so we shall see how long she makes it.

That is so neat that they used her pic for so long!!! That is awesome.

Ok, off we go to the 1st set of doctors appointments for the week!

Happy Belated FATHER'S DAY to everyone!

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday to post to say that.

Bubba - sorry for the typo - but thanks for the giggle.:goodvibes

Thanks everyone for the well wishes about our cat. I had a dream she returned - but I know now that I doubt it will happen, we are just trying to move forward at this point.

LisaG - thanks for the photos - I adore Tahoe and I'm glad you had a great time with the family.

Brooklyn - congrats on your DD photo shoot - may she enjoy every moment! And best of luck with her new "career"!

Glad to see the Africam is back up - although I missed the early morning activities - hopefully tonight will be enjoyable! Did I tell you that I was screaming at work on Friday and had people running from their offices to see the elephants? (It's usually VERY quiet here on Friday's so it was only a few folks right around my office). VERY FUNNY!:woohoo:

Jackie - hope you have a much better week this week - for both of us - actually!:grouphug:

Were these short-haired corgis? I didn't know that they needed to be shaved!!

No wonder you got an evil eye! Of course, when they're nice and cool this summer they'll thank you... really they will!

Karen

They have an average 'double' coat in that they shed alot! Living here in Arizona, it gets really hot for them in the summer. My youngest, Ricky aka the Plank, likes to take himself swimming in our pool. His hair cloggs the filter. so to keep down on shedding in the house and in the pool, they both got shaved. She (Lucy) really liked being 'lighter' and she has been shaved before. It was Ricky's first time.

Oh how neat! She is excited for her first shoot. She is not overly excited about the drive to LA all the time so we shall see how long she makes it.

Yes, I can imagine...I'm not too excited to drive to LA from Murrieta EVER, so she must not be looking forward to it....it's quite a drive!

Congratulations on the 'rising stars' on our DIS board, both young and teen.

Good luck on the surgeries. Anesthesia is a blessing and a curse.

Pixie dust to those in need, both human and animal.

Tried to look at airfare but both airlines I'm considering don't have rates up yet. I just love planning. When can I plan more for this trip?

I hope everyone has a great week and keep those vacation reports and pictures coming. We're stuck here for another 4 weeks until DS-J gets out of summer program.

Same here....the two airlines I would consider don't have dates yet either. Northwest does, and the lowest price from Detroit to MCO and LAX to Detroit was $538-ish per person, which I don't think is too bad. But the other two I usually use are always much cheaper than Northwest. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

ETA: Found cheaper flights through Sam's Club for $399/person! WOOHOO!

It's 94 degrees today. It's been around that temp since the day we came home from Florida (Wednesday), so I think I brought some heat home with me! ;) I sure could go for a Mickey bar right now....covered in sprinkles! And then.....a dip in the Goofy pool! Aaahhhhhh......my Disney dreams! :cloud9:
