Here are some pics from our DD's birthdays at Disneyland. Yes, they do share the same birthday.

My favorite picture from the trip!

What great photo's Steph! You have lovely children. Connie

Yes, I think it is neat to see other places, especially when you live in another country! The pictures of Virginia City are very realistic as to how a real cowboy/mining town in America looked back in the day (minus the cars and telephone poles:lmao: ). It really was like stepping back in time.

Thanks for the compliment on our family, you're very kind!!

Lisa,

Loved all of the pics and especially the family pick on the Tahoe Queen! Thanks for the update on what the trip is like - we have thought of going on it before, but haven't found the time for it yet, I don't think that we will bother with it in the future!

Great Pics!

We were just there a little over a month ago... but it seems like light years ago!!

Thanks for sharing, such photogenic girls!

It exceeded my expectations. This cruise was all about land for me so don't ask me anything about what happened on the ship. I would do it again in a heartbeat (if I had the $$ and time off from work of course)

Most days the excursions I picked had us leaving the ship by 8:15 (if not earlier) and we were gone for at least 6 hours, mostly longer. Didn't really have a favorite because each day/port was distincively different and really couldn't be compared with the previous or next. I guess it would be fair to say that I focused more on the historical side of Europe than the contemporary. Deb Wills was part of the travel group so there is a pretty good recap on her blog (www.allearsnet.com).

Ron and Monika hosted a lovely DIS Board Wine and Cheese TOGA party in the Roy Disney Suite on our first sea day. (Thanks again guys). Met some of the DISers, even saw some of them again - but it was hectic. I don't know how those 10 day-ers are going to do it with one less sea day.

I'd get back to the ship, shower and change and off for cocktails with the group before our 8:30 dinner. Did see a couple shows but did not make them a priority (except for the one with Joey Fatone - met him a couple times; very nice young man; extremely friendly and "normal"). There was one show "Mickey Dreams" or something like that - you either loved it or hated it - it depends on what your feelings are about Cirque - I was not on the "fan" side of that show.

The food - I really didn't notice that much about the food on the ship this time - too tired from the day I guess. Most nights I went for the "lighter fare" and passed on dessert. Palo brunch though was another story. Oour reservations were at 10:30am and dinner was at 8:30pm and other than a cookie I didn't eat anything in between. :rotfl2:

How do you post pictures? Maybe tonight from home....

Sorry it is so disjointed. If you have any specifis questions I'll be happy to answer.

Wow! Sounds like the trip of a lifetime!

Thanks! Only caught a glimps as I had to get back on my work website!

Don't mind being "informed" I appreciate the knowledge!

Is it Impala that is on right now?

Thanks again!

Karen
Sorry I didn't answer you Karen! I went to bed and didn't even say goodnight! How Rude of me! The impala look like deer as we know them here in the states is about the best I can describe them. The males have long twisted looking horns. I think gazelles have long smooth horns in comparison, but would have to double check to be certain. I also think gazelles live in a different part of Africa as I've never heard them mentioned on the Africam forum.:thumbsup2

Well, since no one else answered the technical question, I will do my best . . .

First you have to find a photo hosting site like Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) the DIS also has photo hosting available on the DIS community photo part of the web site.

Follow the directions of the photo site to upload your photos - the DIS has restrictions on size of uploaded photos. Photobucket is a bit more user friendly in helping you upload photos.

Once your photos are uploaded, view them on the site, and "Right Click" on the photo, selecting from the menu, "copy image address". Make sure you are not clicking on just the thumbnail (small preview photo), or you will be copying the link for this tiny photo - make sure it is the larger representation of the image.

Now . . . once you have the image address copied to your clipboard, go to post on the DIS, and to display your photo here, start off the place where you want the image to appear with

To make sure you did it right, preview your post before posting. Your hosted image should appear.

If you want to see what a photo posting looks like that is correct, quote someone else's post, and you will see the command language with the photo addresses instead of the images in the quote.

PM me if you need help, and if I am around, I will be glad to help.

Happy Belated FATHER'S DAY to everyone!

Bubba - sorry for the typo - but thanks for the giggle.:goodvibes

Your welcome! Just couldn't resist!:rolleyes1 Did you get a chance to see the waterbuffalo vs. lion video? It pays to have a lot of "homies" to back you up!:rotfl2:

I did - not sure if I posted but OH Yeah, I said something like "safety in numbers - or it pays to have ... " whatever... but I did enjoy it, not at FIRST mind you - but I did listen to your post about it not being such a great start. I was amazed at the water buffalo, I had NO idea they were that smart. Surely puts the meaning to the saying "it takes a village to raise a child"... eh?:thumbsup2

Hey there Peggy Jo! Hangin' in there I hope:goodvibes Now that i think about it you did post that you had seen that video. As for BillyHill, I can just picture him "picking" on you!:lmao: Those guys are a riot!

Karen-I think if it had just been the adults on the Tahoe Queen, without the kids, we would have enjoyed it. The scenery was beautiful and we were even able to see a bald eagle perched upon the top of a barren tree...and then he took flight, so that was very cool. My perspective is coming from having the kids with us and about 30 minutes into it, they were grumpy....and the rest is history.............:sad2:

Bubba,

Thanks so much! We have seen what appears to be deer, many times, so I am thinking Impala!

Right now there are "dear" with "V" shaped horns...???

Bubba,

Just watched the Water Buffalo v. Lion video with DH and it was amazing!!

Thanks again for sharing!!

We have learned...

Don't @^&%^* with Water Buffalo!!!

Karen

Karen, I just googled a picture of a gazelle. VERY similar! Their horns are not smooth as I thought. They do have different markings then an impala .:thumbsup2 G'night!

Hi all,

I was one of the pilots on the MAGIC's inaugural transit through the Panama Canal when she was repositioned from FL to CA in May of 2005. Just wanted to say hello and assure you what you already know... you'll have an awesome time!!! Just make sure you don't miss a single detail of your Panama Canal transit... from crossing the breakwater on the Atlantic side (Cristobal) until you go under the Bridge of the Americas on the Pacific side (Balboa) it's all a once in a lifetime experience:cloud9:

Back in May I had a once in a lifetime opportunity as well... I spent the transit (at times when we were not in the locks) with a group of DIS'ers at Kelli's huge balcony back on the stern. We had lots of fun:dance3:

You probably know this by now, but anyway, here's the link to the Panama Canal web cam http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
This link will come in handy the day you transit the Canal.

Thanks to Sandy (figment52) for showing me the way to this thread, and hope to see you all soon at the Panama Canal.
