Hi all....

Well, DD1 and I hopped up there and became the last mom/kid couple in a dance contest:scared1: There were 8 couples and DD and I made it to the finals against another couple:lmao: And....we actually WON! :rotfl2: :dance3: We won 30 min on the water mouse (sea racer). Luckily there were no pics of me up there in a bathing suit dancing!!!:scared1: or you would all be running for the log out button:lmao: It was a blast though and DD1 was really proud. We had a blast on the mouse too, always wanted to rent one but never had until then.

I have one of these stories too . . . a couple of years ago at OKW, Sophia and I went to the pool - Amy stayed at the room. Well, they told all the kids to go get their parents for a hoola-hoop contest. Sophia looked at me with those begging eyes, and I said what the heck, there is no one here I will ever see in my life again . . .

The funniest was supposed to win the water mouse. I must say I was the funniest HANDS DOWN. I know someone was taking video, and if I knew them I would either have to destroy it, or put them in the witness protection program. I made a complete and total fool of myself for my little girl.

I can't hula hoop worth a darn, and I don't exactly have a svelte figure or six-pack abs (I have a 24 pack cube) so you can imagine the scene. Anyway, the CM welched on me, and gave the prize to a lady who WAS really good with the Hula Hoop - me, she gives a free bike rental (I guess she thought I needed it).

Kim, have a blast! Steve relax enjoy your ladies. Savannah have a wonderful time. Hugs and kisses Auntie Pj

hi guys,

Molly's class had a field trip to Angel Island today, http://www.angelisland.org we (20 parents), 3 teachers, and 69 kids made the trek to SF (them on a school bus) (us in a caravan of cars) ferried over to the island and had the most wonderful day. Almost wonderful, I had a bad asthma attack. I had to stick down on the hike for about 10 minutes, it still didn't pass so I hitch hiked with a state park truck to the group and after another 2o minutes, I tried a suggestion of one of molly's teachers, breathing into a paperbag (yes my lunch bag) seems that the pollen was just so high that I couldn't get a "clean" breath without using the bag. The bad worked and the rest of the day was wonderful indeed.

I'll post some pictures later on.

Welcome newbees!!!!

Hi old timers!!!!
Sorry about your asthma attack, but it sure looks like a wonderful place for the kids to visit!

Kim,

The arena at Utah looks like an old gym . . .

(Jazz vs. Warriors)

Must be the colors or something - is it an old place?

Have a great time! I'm so jealous of you all being able to get to a Disney park so easily. I know we can get to Paris, but do you know? It's just not the same and is so expensive - the money would be better spent going towards a US trip.. In the end it is a Disney park but........!!

We have been pricing up a trip for 4 nights to meet up with our daughter and family. Flying to Paris, shuttle to off site cheap hotel (with free shuttle to parks) and tickets. Well, the cheapest we can do is around £660(for 2), which would be around $1200 at the moment. That is with cheapish flights too! For 4 nights at a cheap hotel!!! That would be 1 person's package holiday booking to a decent mid price off site hotel in Orlando for 2 weeks! Must add here that the CM's over there were miserable, queue jumping was horrendous and smoking was everywhere, queues as well!!!!:confused3

Hi all,

Doing a lot of lurking lately but have been so busy and read so slowly that I haven't really had a lot of time to post.

Glad to hear that you got things worked out Lisa. I will usually check one of the third parties for fares and then go to the airline direct to book. Having worked in the business I have heard too many horror stories to go with anybody but the airline direct or with an actual travel agent.

Like the idea of best and worst on the ship. I have several bests. One, the first sight of the ship, two, being announced on board and three, the horn as we leave port. The worst has to be packing the last night and saying our goodbyes at breakfast.

Loved the pictures of the food. DH and I are leaving for San Diego June 19th to visit with our newest DGD and her brother. We plan on taking them to DL for two nights on the 25th. Don't think we will be doing Napa Rose this trip since we will be looking for more kid friendly places to eat. We are doing Goofy's Kitchen for dinner and Minnie and Friends at the Plaza for breakfast. This will be the first character meal experience for our 3 yo DGS so I am looking forward to it since he is really into Mickey, etc.

Welcome to all the newbies! This is a great group so join in the fun!

Carol

Carol,

DD and I did the Plaza for breakfast this trip as well. The food was not so great, and the lines to get the food were terrible. We did have lovely, but very brief visits with Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Capt. Hook, Geppetto, chip and Dale.

I actually perfer Goofy's Kitchen and really enjoy Storyteller's at the Grand Californian for breakfast. They have great food and are well organized. Between the two, you will get a great grouping of characters.

Hi old timers!!!!

Nan,

I grew up in Tiburon and spent many days on Angel Island.

Sorry about your Asthma/hay fever attack! I get those as well. Not too bad with the breathing, but I have had to use an inhaler at this time of year in the past!
