Hi All.....going to see Stomp tonight at a local theatre. It would have to be the coldest day/night of the year.....gotta dress warm to be outside and then will sweat while in the theatre. Oh well!

My brother called. He's off the ship in Baltimore and down in Jacksonville, FL again for a month while he waits to get on another ship. He's got some business to take care of and his car is down there. He said he had the worst experience with Airtran getting from Baltimore to Jacksonville. At his plane change in Atlanta, he never got on the plane along with about 10 other people. He said that it was overcrowded and that they never called for them to board. What a nightmare. His luggage went on ahead without him. He called me to get him on another flight and I did, but what a waste of money for the two airline tickets. He finally got there around midnight. I'm glad I'm flying direct without any stops for our May trip.

Gotta go get in the shower now. Catch ya all tomorrow.
Oh yeah! One of John's birthday presents! What a wonderful show (or so I hear). I'm sure you're both having a blast right as I type this. :goodvibes

OK, well for a dyslexic I've become a good speed reader... and it still took me several hours to get caught up. 70 pages while I was working in Los Angeles for the past 3 days. So, I have a couple of ideas:

For the master list on Laura's pg. 1 - I think you can just cut and paste the list as a new entry under someone else's name make it on a new page somewhere around page 3050 (make it an even page that is easy to find.) Then post the updated master list on the bottom of your signature, so it can always be found.

For the lanyards: On our repo last year, one person did all the work and it was exhausting (I contacted him to ask the company he used.) Instead it maybe easier for us to make a master design and post it on photobucket, then put it at the bottom of the new updated master list. Each family could then download it and enter their own names and print it. Does this make sense? I'll post a picture of the lanyards that we had last year. We had lanyard teams who each put in about $20 to pay for the lanyards for everyone. He then met everyone at a table at the port to distribute them and then we had a dismeet at 3pm at Scoops.

I'm working on the Dismeet for DL will post arrangements tomorrow. Thought it may be nice to do a dismeet for northern CA as well.

How many of you are going to the Minnie 5K on 5/3/08????

Have we made arrangements for a party the night before the cruise?

That does seem high on the airfare - we're flying from San Diego to Orlando for this cruise for $162 each on Frontier.

I paid $104 one way from LAX to MCO on Delta.com

Didn't that person cancel? I think we are landyardless for now until someone claims the task.
If you get the info on where they came from I'd take on ordering and bringing them. I'd need someone to help with the design on cards to insert, but again I can print them and stuff them.

See above idea.

Anyone doing this? I worked on this boat in the 80's out of San Pedro for 8 years. I thought the kids would get a kick out of seeing the Buccaneer Queen. My only concern is that it leaves @ 8:30 and we get in @ 8:00. Do you think it is do able?
Thanks

I heard this was really fun. We are considering this one.

I am cooking the 50's Prime Time Chicken Pot Pie tonight.....bet John asks for a shake!

I'd love this recipe, I AM ALL ABOUT FOOD!!!! We had this last month at WDW.

Thanks Angie, I didn't know this.....will the private dining room hold 36 people? That's how many I have for ladies only tea. Also, who faxes to DCL? Me or TA? What's the fax number? or where do I find it listed? Thank you for your help with this.

Is it too late to sign up for this? I'd love to do this tea?

I started bringing my own lunches to work as well...and no more espresso stops on the way to work....amazing how much more productive I am during my lunch hour AND how much money I have saved already!

It's shocking how much money you can save on the little things! My neighbor who always complains about not being able to afford DCL comes home every morning with Starbucks and McDonalds. One morning she said to me, "Kelly, you would never do this would you? that's how you afford those fancy vacations!" YEP!!!

I checked with the place Wendy got our lanyards for the december cruise and the cost per lanyard for 100 (did not know how many we would order so I just went with that) would be around 2.50 each including the holder and shipping. He still has the disney font so he can use that. Krisann

See above, I'll post when I get the answer of the cost of the other company.

YES, that's who she is.....I had heard the same rumor. It's a shame because she's a great actress. You really believe she is the person that she's playing. I loved watching her.

Out here we have a company called "that's a wrap" it is clothes and accessories from TV shows and movies. When I stopped in last time I got a pair of earrings from Charmed. They have a big selection of Hannah Montana stuff.

Ok I have a question - when we get to LA it will be Memorial Day weekend - is anyone concerned about the parks being really crowded at DisneyLand? This has me worried as I am used to going to DW at low peak times so would not know how to handle BIG crowds :) Any advice?

Yes, it will be very crowded on Sunday and Monday, but Tues and Wed. will be nice. It may be chilly from Cabo to LA as we will be in June gloom.

I would love snow and fall leaves and everything...if it was 80 degrees!!!

We've had snow covering all the mountains around us, which is perfect. I love snow as long as it is on TV, pictures and from a distance... not on my toes, noes or head!

We are first time Disney Cruisers (DH, DW, and DS (6)). DW and I have cruised once before, but that was carnival and it was the 3 day party boat to Ensenada and back. Not too much fun. We are VERY excited about 15 days on the Magic though. It's hard not to talk about it every day. So many choices for excursions!

Not having cruised before though, I wonder if we'll be bored on sea days. Is there really a lot to do. Being cheap, I don't plan on playing BINGO every day. Stacey

Stacey, we spent 25 days on the Magic last May and I didn't have time to read even one book. I was so busy it was shocking from morning to night.

Hi Everyone,
I can't believe how long this thread is!!!! You've been busy!!
We will be going on the cruise with y'all:cool1:
DW Suzie 46, DH Brian 48, DS Billy 14, DS Aussie 12, DS Bretty 9
I can't believe it is coming up so fast!! Anything I should know (without having to reread the posts??) It's great to be here;)

Welcome!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hello.... Long time lurker seldom poster.. My wife (Plutosmom)Has posted. Am Booked on this cruise and have a question for any repeat panama canal cruisers....Does any one know the soonest one can get to LAX form the port? Or how early can one safely book airfair. Looking forward to meeting all of you!!!
Terry

Don't book a flight earlier than 10:30.

All of the Disneyland Resort hotels are great. I like the Disneyland Hotel the best, although Grand Californian is closer to the action. For off property, we like the Best Western across the street because it's just a short walk across the street. It isn't too bad and is very reasonable. It is called the Park Place Inn. Parking can be a struggle, but it's free. I don't know if the shuttle system has changed there, but shuttles are/were $3 per person per day. Thanks to the City of Anaheim.:sad2: The hotels used to have free shuttles, but I think the City wants a piece of the action. You can book some off property hotels using GetAwayToday. It is a dot com company, good for DL bookings.

I love Disneyland. I have been going there since they had 'live' mermaids in the submarine lagoon. LOL It has been great seeing all of the improvements and changes. WDW is best overall, but DL, to me, has MK beat. You don't have to walk so far between rides. AND they have all of the same stuff, with a few differences. DL doesn't have the flying carpets, for instance. ToonTown is much better at DL, and so is IASW. Aw, I could go on and on about the place, but I am biased. Well over 200 trips there in my life. (without actually working there).:goodvibes

Ah, the memories. I agree with everything.

You're so lucky. I think CA is the only state in the U.S. that is smoke free in public places (but I could be wrong). We did have ONE smoke free restaurant/bar in my city, but it went out of business. :sad2:

Smoking is so rare here, that we almost stare at people when they are smoking because we wonder where they are from? It's been that way for well over a decade. When we go to WDW, we're stunned by the smoking.

Does Supershuttle pick up a few groups at once? We need to book from DL to LAX and have no idea what to do. Also we all need to get from the port to DL.

I highly recommend this as long as your luggage fits in the van. Organize groups to share rides.

I'm pretty sure it was Erica Kane's first husband (All MY Children) - that was a long time ago, but we were asked not to say how long ago that was. I was when the show started.

You are correct, AMC has been a guilty pleasure for 30 years.

Lisa - That is FANTASTIC news about Frank (not the fridge :rotfl: ). Continued prayers for him and you/Don. Good luck w/ the fridge.

Okay here is the fridge story. I went to the downstairs kitchen and I could clearly hear the refridge running. So I slowly opened the door and held my nose. BOY, it was packed full. I have no idea what he is doing with all that food. But it was running just fine. No smell at all (I knew there was a God!)

I did not empty it yet....went on th clean other parts of the house...well not clean, just pick up so I can hire a crew to clean. I have to ge the junk up before they can clean. I had 10 bags of trash and I left....enough for one day. He is a pack rat.

We are going to have to get him to move. That house is just too big and too old for him. Both kitchens need to be renovated. All the bathrooms need to be redone. I mentioned that to him tonight for the first time and I am not too sure how he took that.

I brought him dinner (food is gross where he is) and he walked with help to a dining area!! First meal not in a hospital bed in 7 weeks. He ate very good!!

Bobby at Castaway Cay and on the Magic Dec 8, 2007 Cruise. Captured by Mr. Gibbs

Oh how I wish I could have been out there instead of on the ship the whole day! But hubby promises he will make up for it on the next cruise AND I would not have enjoyed myself knowing he was in so much pain on th ship. :(

Just got back from the hospital....12:30pm est. Frank is doing pretty good tonight. He was complaining a lot!! I told him to do the rehab...don't bled anymore..any we can take you home soon.

He used a walker and walked down the hall with me....first time in 8 weeks!!

Good night all!
Lisa

So glad things are looking up!

P.S. Just for curiosity--Does anyone know how many health care people are on this cruise-nurses, doctors, firefighters, emt's,etc.?

Well I can tell you from experience in December we saw 2 different Doctors (one man and one woman) and 3 or 4 nurses throughout hubby's gallbadder ordeal.

I have the today show on and the guest just said you should flip your mattress every 3 months :scared1: .....does anyone do that??

We have a pillowtop - not sure how it would work to flip it!

You're so lucky. I think CA is the only state in the U.S. that is smoke free in public places (but I could be wrong). We did have ONE smoke free restaurant/bar in my city, but it went out of business. :sad2:

Tennessee is now smoke free anywhere children could be including eating out unless it is designated for 21 and over - like a bar.

My wife and I will be joining all of you on this cruise too.

Only three months and three weeks to go!

Jason

Welcome! Glad to have you here.

OOOh. Good Luck. Yowza ! Take some Vick's Vapo Rub to dab under each nostril. It works.

I do that when I sleep - looks too weird if I am out in public :) but I will tell you the new Puff's tissues with Vick's vapor rub are just the best thing when your nose is really stuffed up but be warned if it is not - breathe in first but not into the tissue or it will really wake you up!

v's tip of the day - how to get your house smelling great.....

purchase air diffuser.....
set said air diffuser up in a central location....

proceed to knock off said air diffuser onto the floor, smashing the glass container all over the floor leaking the heavily scented oil also all over the floor.....

let dog track through the spilled oil and run throughout the house and small child on riding vehicle do the same.
:lmao: OH MY GOSH, you sure do have your hands full! What a mess to clean up.

Kelly,

I could host the lanyard tag file on the website. It would go with all the other logos and iron-on files, easy to grab and modify.

I would be happy to make a couple of options, any suggestions for information to be on the tag, pics, etc. Would love to see the photo from your previous cruise for a starting point.

Pj

Holly Check your PM's hopefully i did that right and you received mine. If not let me know.. I'll try again! Sometimes computers and I don't get along:lmao:

I finally caught up with all of today's posts hard to do after a long day at work but they were way more interesting then work was!

I realized that I never really introduced myself and figure I better so that you all can get to know me better!

I'm Amy :wave2: i'm turning *gulp* 26 on May 18th. I work full time for a Casino in Southeastern CT and I help moderate an online forum that also deals with Disney. I have been to Disney over 30 times so far my first trip was when i was 5. Since I have driven 18 times back and forth from CT I much prefer flying and we have camped at Disney and have stayed at all but 4 hotels on property. I did the College Program in 2001 for the summer. I worked at Typhoon Lagoon as a Quick Service Foods Cast Member. Now I look forward and dream about moving back to FL to be closer to the mouse and our favorite past time now cruising. While this will be our 2nd cruise we get so excited remembering our 1st and can't wait for this one!

My mom Angela is 52 and she started my addiction with Disney when i was just a baby we have home movies with my Mickey Ears on in my Johnny Jump up and my mom yelling at my grandfather to get the beer bottle away from me :lmao: She works full time for a software company and lets me do all the planning she is a more of a Plan it and I'll show up kind of person and Her only other addiction other then Disney, DCL is QVC. She probably ranks up there as being their #1 customer hence the 2 year span in cruises :lmao:

We are cruising with my mom's friend Gloria and her husband John this is their first DCL cruise but have cruised before. John's birthday is May 16th and Gloria works with my mom.

Sorry for my bad manners in not introducing me and my crew earlier. Will try to be a better DIS'er!

Now back to :surfweb: and hoping that Holly got my PM :hippie:

I am looking at excursions this morning and each one I look at say

Due to limited availability, Guests are encouraged to book early.

Well I want to do the boring sightseeing ones. ;) with mom... so I hope all of you are going to do the exciting sportsy ones so I can get on with no prob!!! I hope DCL will have enough spaces... Anyone ever get turned away before? Would love to know seeing as this is my first time...

I have the today show on and the guest just said you should flip your mattress every 3 months :scared1: .....does anyone do that??

My mom has decided to finally get a new mattress - first time since my father left over 29 years ago... God only knows when it was last flipped!!!

No snow this morning! Now they are saying that it's coming tonight!

I wrote him laughing... then it snowed here... :lmao:

My wife and I will be joining all of you on this cruise too.

Only three months and three weeks to go!

Jason

Welcome aboard!!! We're a fun group so keep reading!!!

wow - it's so neat to see all these newcomers and lurkers posting! Welcome to all!!

Well, I just finished up a load of laundry. It is gorgeous here today, hope it's nice in Orlando for Kaylee. I took down the tree and hauled it to the curb....at least it's not February yet.

Oh V... that's why I don't have fake trees... I'd never get it out of my house... of course when I was in the condo, there was someone across from me who forgot his tree on his balcony and it was still there in July... Brown and crunchy... but it was in July...

I remember when she married Jeff Martin. :scared1: How long ago was that?
DON'T ANYONE ANSWER!!!;)

Over 35 I think. I know, I was not supposed to answer! I watched from day one!

Hey it was only a few years ago (feels like...) that she stopped hoping to have a child with Jackson!!! (and did you notice still...nobody's ever called her GRANDMA!!!)

I know that in most states and up here a fridge placed out for pick needs to have the doors taken off, so that kids do not climb in and get stuck. But I wonder if there isn't a company that might come and take it away as is and take it to the local depot. That will be awful when opened.

PJ

We do... it's called 1 800 Chuck it (no... for real... it is...)

V, On the sea days we can sit around and laugh at each others passport photos. Did Angie tell you about the lady that laughed at mine? I think it was at the airport.

Yep, the lady at the airport. Now I am sure they see lots of PP photos, but his.....oh my! They took his ears right off!! :lmao: Just this big round head with no ears!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry, Sweetie, but you have to admit it is just too funny!! :lmao:

Silly suggestion here...

Since we are all fessing up to the fact that we all have traveling buddies... Come on... fess up....

Wouldn't it be hysterical to take a picture with everyone's buddies right after we take a picture of all the Disers???

Yeah, I know... I'm nuts...

Holly Check your PM's hopefully i did that right and you received mine. If not let me know.. I'll try again! Sometimes computers and I don't get along:lmao:
I never got that popup box that announces a new PM, so I never would have checked if you hadn't said so here....thanks for letting me know! :thumbsup2 Even up at the top right corner of my screen, it still showed zero messages. Strange things going on with my account today.

So now we have a secret! :rolleyes1 We know where Bobby's going when he leaves Michigan.
