Ok, I'm talking to myself but will continue:
Regarding Bunco (which also is spelled BUNKO):
I'd like to suggest (and am willing to organize) a bunko day. ADULT POOL SIDE. When it was my turn to do bunko at my house, I did "martini bunko" and had custom menus made. It was a blast. It will be tons of fun, instructions day of the event (trust me, you don't need to "learn" the game - takes 5 minutes to learn the rules). If we have more than 12 interested, we can do it twice. But I would love to do this - have everything necessary - bunko prizes, bunko dice, martini recipes to give to the bartenders....anyone??? PJ/Aunty Brat? Can I do this? Maybe get a spot on the website? If someone else wants to do it....YEAH! No problem on my end. My four kids keep me busy and entertained. But it would be something I can do with my work schedule as it is, and I would like to particate given my Julie McCoy nickname. Again, you guys put me to shame!
Let me know!
Lisa

I had offered to do this as well....Maybe we can join up and have "Lisa Bunco". You can play with more than twelve.....we often play with 20 and last weekend we played with 40...(it was a little crazy). What do you think?

Morning everyone,

Just waiting for the snow to arrive here. You'd think by the news that it's going to be as bad as upstate NY but we are only predicted to get 10-30cm (up to a foot of snow) while upstate NY has 11 feet. The City of Toronto tends to overreact to this stuff.

No snow day here though although I'll wait til tomorrow.

Fiona

I was kinda hoping it wouldn't be a jammed packed ship. I heard the first time the WB only had about 350 or so kids...was hoping for a possible repeat or close!

Although the cruise is sold-out, I think we may still be in luck with the number of kids. Of course, we have no way of knowing until we get onboard. But with kids having to miss 2 weeks of school, I don't think there will be as many on this cruise. :confused3 Hope so, anyway.

Morning all!
I can't believe the cruise is almost sold out!!

Can someone tell me a bit more about trip insurance, and why the need to get it now?

remember, this is coming from someone who has never purchased trip insurance before.

Sign me up!

I just love Patrick Stewart also and am a HUGE Star Trek fan!!

Now THAT's the way to start my morning! If you haven't heard it (or seen the broadway show), there is a CD of his one man show of "A Christmas Carol" that is GREAT!

I had offered to do this as well....Maybe we can join up and have "Lisa Bunco". You can play with more than twelve.....we often play with 20 and last weekend we played with 40...(it was a little crazy). What do you think?

I'm thinking we'll need a team to coordinate this! Especially if we do it by the adult pool, we'll only be able to accommodate so many people. Whoever cruises next needs to note the number of tables!

I mostly get it for medical emergencies, but there a lots of reasons and ways your trip can be interrupted or cancelled that insurance will cover. I've recently read of DISers who were restricted to their cabins for a portion of the trip due to 'flu like' issues and their insurance reimbursed them for two days of their trip. While I don't by trip insurance for any other kind of trip, it's a cruise necessity as far as I'm concerned (and a cost I budget in just like my tips).

Kim - How Terrible!

Good morning everyone . . . we are getting snow, snow, and more snow until noon tomorrow. Schools are all closed, and we are to get 12-18 inches!

John, being just south of you they are saying (depending on what chanel or what paper) we are to get 6 - 12 inches but the way it looks outside I would believe closer to the 12 since it is supposed to snow into tomorrow. We already have close to 3 or more. All schools are closed in our area too. They are also saying we could get freezing rain on top of this. First the freaking cold and now this. Guess we had to pay some time for all the fairly easy winters we have had lately.

When looking at insuremytrip, what are you using as the Primary Destination? Other? Mexico? TIA.

I generally wait until right before final payment to get my trip insurance since the trip is fully refundable up until then. We don't have any pre-existing condition type stuff. Is there any other reason to get the insurance now?

For those that might be interested I put together a piece for the web site. It is a copy of an article from the newsletter for our SC cruise about how Fish Extenders came to and the kinds of things that people put in them. Also, I went on to explain how Doug and I came to make them. There is a link to it on the front page. If there are any other questions feel free to PM me and I will answer them the best I can.

Ok i finally caught up after missing over 97 pages of posts!

I love mexican train and can pack dominoes with my things so we can start up some games!

If anyone else will be in FL during those dates let me know i'd be up for a starbucks or lunch meet!

I will be at WDW from april 28th-may 5th, but it will be 3 moms, 1 grandma and four 4 year olds :scared1: I would have loved to meet if it would have been some other kind of trip.

I am willing to bring domino's along - but do you want double 12's or double 15's?? (yes we have them all - seriouse domino players)

Krisann

We have - hold on to your game tables domino fans - MICKEY dominos! :cool1: :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :earsboy: :earsgirl: They are only double 9 though.

Bring them all, we are going to have lots of fun!

A gunman went into a shopping mall with restaurants and lots of children and just started shooting. There are 6 fatalities including the gunman and many others in hospitals some in critical condition. They have no idea why he did it and are still searching the mall for other victims and people who are still hiding... It's just awful! I have been there dozens of times, I am just sick... Those poor people!

¡Oh no! My heart is aching for all those families.

I have no idea how to play Bunko, but I want to at least watch the first game.

Somehow I think that dh will not want to travel with me again, I have lots of plans with you guys and I have a feeling that dd might not want to be stuck the entire trip in OC :rotfl2:

Hi! So I was looking over the photos for the Panama Canal crossing and it seems like everyone was wearing pants and sweatshirts - is it cold??? . . .
We were on the EB. It was cold in the morning, then there was light rain. It warmed up in the afternoon.

Hi! So I was looking over the photos for the Panama Canal crossing and it seems like everyone was wearing pants and sweatshirts - is it cold??? I was imagining nice warm weather for this cruise in May. Please -are we going to have some calm, sunny days???? Lisa

From my Panama travel guide:

"Temperatures in Panama are fairly constant year-round. These range from about 32°c (90°f) in de day, down to 21°c (70°f) in the evening. It never gets cold...
Panama has two seasons, the rainy and the dry...
The rainy season, also known as winter, generally lasts from about mid-april to mid-december. The rains tend to be heaviest and longest at the end of the season, as though the heavens were wringing out every last drop of moisture...Thunderstorms are a near daily occurence during the rainy season."

So I guess we can predict hot weather and high humidity with probably lots of rain too.

UKangel let me know what days you have open and we can set something up! We are heading into Orlando a couple of days so it shouldn't be an issue!

I'll talk to Mark and let you know, should be fun!:)

Had to laugh at this, we got 2 inches here in England and the whole place ground to a halt!

Hope everyone is ok in the snow!

Sounds good - if you want, you can organize the bunco, I can organize the martinis! Or vice versa. Doesn't matter. We had about 4 or 5 martini choices (chocolate, apple, some run of the mill). Anyway, I made a menu and laminated it - it worked perfectly because sometimes things kept spilling! I could meet up with the bartenders ahead of time to get them the recipes if they don't have them, and then we can all sit around with drink service included!

Lisa - I missed your offer to organize so please organize away! I can help in any way. Just let me know! Lisa

Maybe people were in sweats and sweaters because it was so early in the morning? The pictures posted somewhere of the Panama canal showed people wearing warm clothes. SO GLAD to hear it will be warm. I love warm! :) Lisa

I have my "normal" boring dominoes that go to 15.

But....I also have my fun, exciting Mickey Dominoes! Got them last month on clearance at Character Warehouse in Orlando. Now someone is going to ask, how much did you pay? I don't remember. But I'll be in Orlando for 24 hours on March 3 and would be happy to check if anyone is interested in a set or two. (If I can find my receipt at home, I'll let you know what they cost.)
