Regarding Airborne...

We took it before and during our 3 days at WDW before our cruise (and, then, ran out), but none of us came down with even a cold. The package says to mix it in water (tastes a little like Tang), but the kids really didn't like that. So, we mixed it in orange juice and that was much better.

HOWEVER, just a note that when I tried to take it multiple times/day, I got a major headache. Can you get a vitamin overload?? For me, once a day works great!

Carolyn

I didn´t go to the airborne link, so I don´t know what it is made of, but yes, technically you can get hipervitaminosis.

carolyn,

i would go up to people with bracelets too and ask them what their DISname was...alot of them gave me blank stares and thought i was psycho because they were just in a large party with another Diser and had no clue what i was talking about! (maybe i was the axe murderer of the last cruise!:rotfl2: )

I couldn't figure out why people who never DISed would want one or wear them when it was so obviously a tool to identify you to other DISers. Maybe...it was just the allure of glowing in the dark. Or, DISers telling them, "You will wear this, you will participate, you will enjoy yourself!" (I think that's why my DH wore his the first day....)

Gullible, I am, so sometimes I have to check...is hipervitaminosis a real word? If so, I love it! Sounds so knowledgeable. If not, I love it, too. Still sounds so knowledgeable!

Whew, I can't believe I am all caught up on this thread! :surfweb: That took forever! Well, not forever...waiting for this cruise is going to take forever....It is nice to have something to look forward to though. Ah, 14 days.:cloud9:

Loved that word hypervitaminosis and had to look it up!!

Vitamin poisoning, or hypervitaminosis, refers to a condition of high storage levels of vitamins, which can lead to toxic symptoms. The medical names of the different conditions are derived from the vitamin involved: an excess of vitamin A, for example, is called "hypervitaminosis A".

High dosage vitamin A, high dosage, slow release vitamin B3 and very high dosage vitamin B6 alone, i.e. without vitamin B complex, are sometimes associated with vitamin side effects that usually rapidly cease with supplement reduction or cessation. Conversely, certain vitamins do not produce toxicity in excess levels. Vitamin C has been used in dosages over 100,000 mg for serious illness — over 1000 times the daily recommended intake — without ill effects. However, Vitamin C does have a pronounced laxative effect, typically when intake of vitamin C is in the range of 5-20 grams per day for a person in normal "good health" [1].

High doses of mineral supplements can also lead to side effects and toxicity. Mineral-supplement poisoning does occur occasionally due to excessive and unusual intake of iron-containing supplements, including some multivitamins. Hypervitaminosis with multivitamins is uncommon.

I can't take it anymore - I don't think that I can make it until next May. I might take my kids on the April 7th Western. Anyone else going to be there? I am on hold with my TA as we speek.

Love the sound of the 'snow day' book:) We don't have it at school but we're a big senior school (take 11 to 18 year olds) so its probably a bit young for our lot :)

Well, the snow stopped but the college sent dd home so she was happy anyway! It was nice to spend the day with her on our own:)

I could cry. Just spoke to TA and there are no more Cat 12s. If I did this it had to be cheap (well nothing Disney is really cheap). A Cat 11 would be 2K more. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

OOOOOooooooooohhh! I want one too! One of the disboard'ers brought glow in the dark necklaces and handed them out to us on Tropicalifragilistic Night for the deck party! They got them from OTC (Oriental Trading Co.)

The glow in the dark necklaces make GREAT NIGHT LIGHTS....especially for those of us in inside cabins. I put one on the edge of the coffee table, so I wouldn't crash in to it at night and one on the counter in the bathroom. You'd need a few to last for 15 days, but they are pretty inexpensive at Oriental Trading.

THe silicon wrist bands can be ordered at http://www.reminderband.com
We've got lots of time before we have to worry about those!

is anyone going to do door signs? I want to make some, but have no idea how on a mac!! I know there's a mac expert on here somewhere isn't there?

btw- do any of you californians know the town of Hesperia? my best friend lives out there, so I'm going for spring break...we're going to disneyland too!!!!!! yay!!

Isn't Hesperia in the High Desert about 70 miles or so from DL?

As my first official duty as KING of DCL, I proclaim that ALL IC requests would be computerized and kept in a database so that we could locate them easily and without resorting to a shoebox!!!

I give up, Aunty Brat, what is an IC??
Idiot in Command?
Ice Cream? (my favorite)

WAIT!! They will have some great incentive offers when we are on the member cruise this October!

Ok, I'll be good. :guilty: :scared:

Probably just as well. Adrienne just ordered 4 more Vera Bradley display cases for the store, and I still have to buy our plane tickets to Europe in September. Plus we just booked the Thanksgiving 2008 Magic cruise - going with some friends we've been trying to cruise with for years.

Actutally it stands for Inventory Control which is the department in DCL that handles reservations and reservation requests.

Yes, it is in the high desert - a couple hours away from Disneyland.

As for Door Signs, we'll be putting a couple together - and will probably bring our signs from the first Panama cruise..... It isn't too difficult to do. You can create a document (in Word, or similar) with your graphics and text. Then, just buy the magnetic sheets from Staples, and print them on your inkjet printer.

Hi everyone,

Finally caught up. Had to go with Steve to the periodontist this morning. For all the work he has to have done, I could have a new car!!!

Glad to hear the info about the Airborne. In fact, I looked at it today while I was in Walgreens. I will definitely take it with me from now own each time I cruise. I got so sick on the 11 day. Thankfully it was the next to the last day but I was miserable all the way home and for about a week after.

About DVC, I love my DVC!! We, too, bought more points on the 11 day. I agree with Linda, Tony. Kay, krdisneybound, said on the last members only cruise they offered some really nice deals.

By the way Tony, I really enjoyed your article on the Panama Canal. It was a very nice read.

Pahrumpgirl (Carol and Doug) have snow in Ohio too. They sent some really pretty pictures. We haven't had measurable snow here since the early 70's.

I don't know how I'm gonna make it. I'm so excited about this cruise and it's more than a year away! I've always wanted to see the PC!
