Bump....anyone have experience from back in 2005?

I have heard all different stories. Some say they get a room # right away others say they give it to them about a month to 2 weeks before cruising.:confused3 I would say once they get everything figured out they will try to assign rooms but your room could change up until you board.:headache: I think she was saying that because she has probably gotten a few calls but who knows this has been a little wacky.

Here is link to read about Airborne Cold Remedy: http://www.airborne-cold-remedy-formula-medicine.com/

:surfweb:

Thanks, that is interesting. I will try and pick some up when we are over in Orlando in November/December.

We do take Echinacea, which is in the tablets, and also zinc lozenges when I have a cold, but this sounds even better. Great before a long flight. I usually end up with a cold or something every time I fly to the US!

We are on the same cruise too! stupid me I forgot to transfer that ressie to get the discount on this cruise. By the time I remembered the price had jumped $800. So for now we are still booked too!

There is a meet thread for that cruise. Not very active, but I do post there once in awhile.

There you are...thanks for checking in...I did answer one message over there. I'll check back...

Oh, and now I see why Miss Peggy isn't coming out here to play on the beach this weekend!!

Carolyn

Jackie will be doing the crafting and shopping, I'm not a crafter at all! All my crafts look like a child of 4 did them, and by that I mean a child of 4 who has NO talent with crafting.

I will be taking Mrs Woody out to ride on Friday again though. She's a natural and loves the horses - which of course to me, is just about the best thing in the world, having a dis friend like to ride with me!!!

YIPEE!!! I can't let them go back to CA without them getting their fill of being with the horses! What kind of a friend would do that?

I will be there for the wine DIS meet - and maybe before??? Another beautiful day in Arizona!!!! Sorry about all the cold weather everyone else is getting. :wizard: Maybe this will bring a bit of sunshine to y'all!

Here's the latest . . .

RATS!

Hi John,

I'm sorry but no luck! They brought up the reservation I entered and their
response was it was probably a large table that had 2 chairs available. The
Supervisor tried to add a 3rd person to my fake reservation and it put the
3rd person on 2nd dining.

I still think it's early and the odds of you getting main dining are good.

This is the funniest thing I have seen. DCL doesn't even assign out the "tables" until 30 days before the cruise.

Yesterday, a good friend of mine decided to go on the April 5 (3 night cruise) with my daughter and I. I called DCL and added her, and the CM told me that we were on early dining so the computer was throwing her into late, since main was full. He said as soon as we hung up, he would call over to the dining room assignment person (in his office I guess) and that they would manually move her over to main with us since we were in the same stateroom. Said the computer system wouldn't do it, but that they would fix it. Called just now and everything is fixed and great and we are all on main.

So to get a response like you did to me is just above ridiculous. If it was Palo's at the 90 day mark I could understand, but not when it is over a year out and the last thing on DCL's mind is "assigning tables" at this point.

However...I wouldn't worry about the main. At 90 days out there will be enough cancellations and then when DCL starts working the ressies at 30 days out you will move to main. We were on a wait list for the 10 day Christmas Cruise for 9 months and at about 25 days out we got on main. So, I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point!

IN ONE YEAR WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS CRUISE

....so I'd guess I'd better get back to work!

Can someone tell me what Airborne is? I gather it is something for colds etc, but I don't think we have anything like it over here. Might be worth picking some up when we are over there.

You can buy Airborne at your local Walmart for about $5. I personally like the lemon lime. I take one everytime before I get on a plane.

Also, never put on in your mouth without dissolving in water. You will be foaming at the mouth if you do (however, if it is a group of 5 or 6 people, it makes a great photo op!):rotfl2:

Called DCL last night, and had no trouble moving our dining to main.
I would try again.

I haven't read any of the past pages since I signed off last night (or should I say this morning?), but I had to pipe in and say that I totally swear by Airborne! Neither my son nor I have been sick yet this winter, despite everybody at work being sick at least once, including a couple people with bronchitis, ALL the kids at day care have had at least 2 colds so far, Tyler's dad has had 2 sinus infections with colds, Tyler's stepmom has been sick once, etc. Tyler did get a cough for 2 days last week, but it never developed into a cold. Airborne just boosts your immune system to help fight off colds and shorten the length if you do still get one. This is truly our healthiest year ever since discovering it. I missed tons of work last winter because of both of us getting colds. We both drink it 3 times a day for about 3 days when we're around people who are sick, and then stop until being exposed again. Cindy also took it before and during our January cruise, but I've never gotten sick on any of my cruises, so I didn't bother, but I've heard lots of people say they get sick every cruise, so it's worth a try for anybody considering it.

Now, time to see what I've missed so far this morning while I was hard at work at the office. :rotfl2: Yup, working so hard, but still able to DIS!

You and I really are on the same bat time, same bat channel.

I am usually going to bed at 2 to 2:30 ish and my alarm goes off at 6:45 as well!

I do get to go back to sleep a couple of mornings a week for another hour after I prep the kid for school and I usually get to sleep in on the weekends.

Sleep tight, no dreams of Heffalumps or woozles!

Karen

Are you my distant twin? :rotfl:

You're lucky! At least you get a couple mornings to sleep in. NONE for me. I usually have class Saturday morning, then Tyler gets me up at around 7am on Sundays. I can't wait until he's old enough to understand the joy of sleeping in on weekends! :lmao: However, since I took this semester off, I do get to sleep in on Saturdays for a couple more months. Yippee! I SO needed a break!

I know nothing about DVC - does AKL stand for Animal Kingdom Lodge and some condos/rooms you can buy there? Thanks, Lisa

Disney Vacation Club is the greatest. We bought our original membership in 1994 at Old Key West (OKW). You buy points instead of timeshare weeks. The amount of point you use depends on the night, time of year, the size of the condo (room) etc. However many points you buy you get again every year on the anniversary date for about 50 years or so. You can use your points for Disney Cruises and exchanges, etc. etc

Last night, I went home and looked at the exclusive pre-sales brochure they sent to current DVC members for Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL). What it says is that the exclusive pre-sale ends on February 28 to current DVC members.
The discount they are giving to DVC members is $8 per point. Plus if you add 150 points they are going to add you to an exclusive tapestry that will hang in AKL.

So, my guess is that the sales will open up to the general public on March 1st since the pre-sale ends the 28th of Feb.

We are in Utah, so we don't get anything either for referring someone. However, we tend to send tons of people on the cruises to the guys, so the guys usually give us stuff exclusive to DVC new members. On the 11 night on the Wonder our stateroom was right across the hall from their offices. So we were in the hallway alot and told people about all the great benefits from being DVC members while they waited for their appointment. In fact, our friends Tony and Adrienne bought into DVC while they were on the ship.

The only negative comment I ever hear from DVC members is this..........

I WISH we would have bought in earlier when we were first introduced and not waited!

If you are committed to vacations with your family, and love Disney and nicer accomodations, then it is a win-win situation. We have taken all our kids, spouses, grandkids on cruises and to WDW on points and we would have never had that family time if it wasn't for DVC.

The way all you ladies keep talking about "mousey bits" . . .

Are you all talking about YOUR DH's? :confused3

OH.....MY.....GOSH!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hmmmm....I wonder if they make teeny tiny spanx? What do you say, Capt. Spanx?

In fact, our friends Tony and Adrienne bought into DVC while they were on the ship.

Yeah, it's all your fault Linda! Now we know who to blame. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

We are considering AKL, but it would probably be a small buy - 50 points, if we do it. The problem is, the rumors about the Contemporary are giving Adrienne pause...

COOL! I only had 5 pages to get caught up on! So I suppose the key to staying caught up here is to just stay up until 2:45am! :rotfl2:

I supposed by the time I get home, since I'm not going directly home from work, there will be 20 pages to read. But it's SO FUN! :woohoo:

Hey Cindy: I think you booked that quickie weekend cruise to avoid having to tell your kids about Panama....you must tell them, the supense is killing me...:lmao:

But really, kudos for you for the weekend plans. Do give more details...airfare???

I'd love to pop for a weekend mini cruise for Easter break, but I guess that rate wouldn't be that fab huh?

Nan,

My DS (11) was looking at an open Dis boards, were I had been the last one to post. He said "Hey mom, why does it say our next cruise is in 15 months". I told him I was thinking about running away from home without them. Can't Mom have her own time on the DCL.:lmao: He hasn't asked again. But, then the next day we told him about this trip.

Long story about the weekend get away. I will try to keep it short! Mike was on the DCL website on Sunday and saw that it was really cheap to do a cat 12, on the Wonder for Thurs (today) and Sunday (Feb 11) So, we started dreamimg about stealing away... could we so it? what about school? what is on the schedules? A few hours later we were thinking...Yes, we can make this work! Monday morning I call TA to book two cat 12 rooms. There was a little snag, only one cat 12. I ended up putting a hold on a cat 10 and a cat12 for Sunday, Feb. 11. But, now are quick little get away was going up in price. I told the TA I had to think about it. When I called back the next day (Tuesday), I had her look for another cat 12. There was one. I took this as my sign that it was mean to be and booked it!

Mike was able to use FF for all of the airfare. We book our hotel with hotel points. I will never complain about all his work travel again!!! The only thing we have to pay for is the shuttle to and from the airport and the cruise.

WOW! You're SO lucky! Have an absolute blast for the rest of us wishing we could go too! YAY for you and your family! :cheer2:

Hi! We live in Howell, NJ in the central part of the state. Thanks! We learn something new everytime we cruise with Disney. I know I'll think of something to ask. :)

:hourglass counting down the days til I'm relaxing in the Cove Cafe!

Hi Jerseygirl,

We live south of you in Moorestown. I work in Ewing (closer). My good friend is also joining us - they live in Hillsborough.

Welcome.
E.

All this DVC talk made me start thinking.
