I asked this earlier but I think it was missed. :confused3 Am I right in thinking that there was mention of a 3 PM Dis Meet in Promenade Lounge on Embarkation Day or did we scratch that? Can't find anything about it on PJ's calendar or web site. :confused3

Carol

I think we really need to meet up on deck 10, port side with the size group we have, unless we have bad weather. Above the Goofy Pool, midship seems to work really well at that time and then we disburse for lifeboat drill and then those that don't want to be on deck 9 for sailaway go up to deck 10 midship so we can wave goodbye to everyone on the way out as they are jealous that we are going to California on the Magic.

What does everyone else think?

You're nobbut a yung'un!!!

Well, I guess that's all relative, (since we're nearly the same age ;) ), but this body sure is creaky and sluggish!

Another PreEAR at Sea!

I can't remember if they had breakfast in Topsiders or not, we ate on our rotational seating that morning. However, I do know that the people that got off the ship first stood around waiting for well over an hour waiting for their luggage to come off the ship, so getting off early did no good, unless you like standing around in the non-Disney terminal waiting. We stayed on the ship and took our time getting off.

My memory is that Topsiders is not open on debarkation day - but the coffee and drink station is...we skipped breakfast (late) and headed to luggage - it was ready by then.

My thoughts: with all the items we have to distribute (navigators, laynards, leis, wrist bands), we really need the tables (and lack of wind) that the lounge offers. I think the lounge is much more condusive to handling a large group, as opposed to the narrow deck 10. We had a very large DIS meet there on the Nov '06 double dip and we had the whole lounge to ourselves (though we may have just frightened off other people). And, there are comfy chairs and a full bar with staff basically just serving us.

I do think we should rally on deck 10 after the drill for sailaway ::yes::

And here I thought that Scotland was already a part of the UK. Now I find out that the English are still insisting that you take thier classes:lmao:

Okay off to work I go!

Hey - we take English classes in the States.

I always said I spoke two languages growing up...American and English (my Mother is British).

Nice area! I see you went to Chicago and I went to the Poconos. You stayed with the city life and I went rural......let's see, if we're around the same age, do you remember the Red Parrot.....it was my favorite dance club at the time....you may be younger than me, I'm not sure.

My DH John is also a Long Island boy born and raised, he did some time in NYC too for work......that was way back in our youth.....another lifetime ago.

What year would the Red Parrot have been? I graduated HS in 1973 and I moved to Chicago in 1983.

I remember Studio 54 (of course).

I have the Animal, because it has a brilliant tool for picking up animal hair. (Although we no longer have the cat :sad1: so that tool isn't used now.) I also have the handheld Dyson, which is very handy.

I will go vaccum looking maybe on friday. Next week I am going to the dr. in GA about my nose. The dr. I will use is down there, they have better equipment and I won't have to have my nose "packaged". If I need the surgery it will be in June and I will go on my parents condo in Destin, FL with them.:)

Ok off to study for my test tomarrow.

Do you feel better today Jackie?

I definately feel better than this morning even (felt weak then), BUT I am only just toddering around the house, not quite the same as dragging myself in to work and dealing with that! I had chicken soup and a turkey sandwich for lunch with no ill effects. :thumbsup2 I'm sure I'll be good to go tomorrow.

...ok...REALLY going to try for that nap now....must turn off computer....

Isn't this cute?

Makes me think of Castawy Cay - see his mask and snorkle?

You know she really wants us to throw one of those themed parties. They did have a castle room there. :rotfl2:

Oh go for one of those cheap motels with a jungle theme.... Always thought Nan had a thing for Tarzan....

There are 2 types of Smarties.

One as Michelle said is a sugary aspirin/tablet shaped thing and the other is an M&M type.

That confused me when I moved to Chicago, as I only knew about the UK chocolate M&M type. People at work would talk about Smarties. When I was given some, I looked at them and said, "These aren't Smarties, they're like M&Ms only better."

I LOVE the chocolate Smarties. To me, they beat M&M hands down.

Well noted... but Asprin never tasted so good!!!

Michelle,

Our Dyson vacuum cleaner has no name. Not sure why. I have never quite warmed to the vacuum and it's lack of name probably reflects my ambivalence towards it.

I can't fault the Dyson. I am told by those in this house that actually use it, that it's wonderful, does a great job, easy to empty and extremely powerful.

(But Michelle, my personal thoughts, and this is quite, quite strictly entre nous, I think the vacuum cleaner sucks).

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

I just think VACUMMING sucks!!!

Hi Ian

Thankyou!!! Now I understand!!! I thought there was something I was missing - we call those sorts of lollies fruit tingles - a sugar hit that would knock your socks off!!

Chalk another thing up to problems with translation!

Leanne:thumbsup2 :)

Sounds good to me!!! We have no prob with your translation if you bring us some!!!

Don't feel bad. I was born and bred in the US and grew up in New York City (Brooklyn to be specific) and there were things that I simply did not understand or know about when I moved to the "main land."

People still make fun of me because I for the word "route" I still pronounce it as "root," the way I grew up pronouncing it in NYC.

Another funny thing is, and maybe it's because of my age, in grade school (public school as they are called in Brooklyn), I had to learn two spellings for many words.

I had to learn both:

color and colour
neighbor and neighbour
favorite and favourite
center and centre
theater and theatre
harbor and harbour
etc.

But I only learned one spelling for words such as catalogue.

Odd how in one country and in a matter of just a few years things can change so much.

You forgot Weather and Whether....

& it's NOT pronounced ROOT???? Ya sure???? Good old Rts 4 & 17 always got me!!!

You should understand all my spellings then!!! I have to say though some of our spellings are daft.

Well, his prounounciations (and mine) will be off... we're from the NYC area... at least before we moved...

I have been feeling like this since about day 100 when I thought about cancelling. Each day that Frank is sick...I think the cruise is too close. I was hoping he would get better instead of sicker and sicker.

I told my mom today that I was thinking about going on a trip with Daniel when school was out. She started to cry.....This is going to be hard....

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I don't share the same tugs as you do but I can understand somewhat - we still have not told my Mom (87) we will be away for 2 plus weeks...sigh...

I'm one who makes lists for weeks (okay who are we kidding ... months) and then packs a few days before ... then add, takeaway, repack ... then the day before check off everything from my list. :lovestruc

:tinker: Karen

You sound like me...do you also loose the lists???

I just noticed and now I have this stupid song stuck in my head.....

99 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL, 99 BOTTLES OF BEER, YOU TAKE ONE DOWN, PASS IT AROUND, 99 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL!

Now, the reason I noticed this is because I have 3,901 posts and with 99 more post I'll be at 4,000.

So, I'm on a countdown.....oh tag fairy where art thou?:confused3

good luck with that!! Round these parts you probably have better luck at being tagged by Secret Mickey than the Tag Fairy....I had over 5k before she snuck up on me....now almost 22k and no new tags!:confused3
But I do have to say - several people got tagged from posting in my old trip reports....that made me feel good!:goodvibes
