Not yet... Lake Pleasant... LG is too commercial for me....:rolleyes1

Thanks Jan!!! I hope so too, but it will just be a small camp...no big log cabins for me in my future unless I win the lottery!!!

Piseco!!!! Does he do the Bingo on Friday nights at the fire hall? If so... they he's probably won more than I have!!! :lmao:

I have no idea if they play bingo. The camp was small when we were teens and went there for the summer. With time they have added on. Probably still not a big fancy log home though. That would not be their style.

Best wishes with it. They are LOVELY lakes.

Jan :earsgirl:

He was released from the hospital today but is in so much pain that we couldn't go home yet. With a seven hour drive it is just too much for now.

I hope he starts feeling better fast and you can all make it home!! It always seems to make things better when you can at least be in your own home!! Best wishes and prayers headed your way!!!

On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise?

It dawned on folks today that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks. I added, "Yeah, I'll be on a ship in the Ocean too, so no phone, not unless you want to call me ship-to-shore and bear the charges."

So, how did you guys manage the time off?

.

Lucky enough for me I'm an independent consultant so I can set my own schedule! I have a team under me and they're prepared!! This will be a great experience for them!!! But I'm sure I will be swamped with e-mails for weeks afterwards!:scared1:

And just to let you know I am having a sale right now through Sunday! All the jewelry is 25% off and there's no sales tax or shipping!!

Morning All - Taking a moment before we had to Mass.....

Completed the mascots Panama Canal Hats last night - another cruise related item checked off....and then hit the hay - Finally I am warmed up.

photos???
please:)

I've been reading all week, but not posting. Just trying to catch up on all the news.

DS7 was home sick yesterday and now DS10 is home today. Hopefully, I will get both back to school tomorrow.

Is anyone with kids doing the late dining rotation? We did that last time, and we really liked it. I know it runs contrary to the conventional wisdom, but the boys enjoyed the shows at the earlier time and then if they were tired at dinner, they just ate something quick and hit the clubs. Plus with the time changes going from west coast to east, that early dining time will just keep getting earlier and earlier. I do need to call and request the 8:00 pm time, however. 8:30 is a bit late.

We have 6 or 7 kids within our group and we are 8pm dining. It works for us we are west coasters. We have to learn to fit the show in before dinner, that will be the trick for me.

hello all my name is chris and I am going to be going on the westbound repo cruise with my husband bill, my 21 year old son robert, and my mom rose marie. it has always been a dream of my mom's to see the canal before she dies and when this oportunity arose, I grabbed at it. my mom lives in iowa but the rest of us live in tampa florida so getting to the port is easy. of course geting home is a bit tougher but we are really looking forward to it. feel free to send me a pm if you want to intorduce yourself to me. my son in on this board as well but he tends to lurk. well thats it for now.
byeee

Welcome Chris!! :thumbsup2 Nice to see you here.
(See how far behind I am. You posted March 2 and I am reading it the 6th.)

Hi Robert

Jan :earsgirl:

Hey I just went there to buy it too! So fess up which ones of you here bought them all? LOL I found their grand custom memories package where they scrap your pictures. I think that is right up my alley. I think I can round up about 300 pictures after the cruise and mail them off. Would be faster then me trying to do it. :thumbsup2

what fun and torture is in that? We have to scrap together, after the cruise then the kiddos can play and we can talk and relive the whole thing over and over again....

HELP HLEP HLEP - I am thinking of an Easter basket for DH this year and need suggestions as well (his Valentine's gift was The PAth to the Sea) - so I am thinking of extra swim trunks or water shorts - but what else????

A pair of cool shades would be good and maybe a hat from his fave team???

If you have lumier's on a night that isn't formal do you dress nicer than you would at the other restaurants? If so, what would you wear?

I hear the rest of the cruise when it's not a theme night is cruise casual...

V, you are in planning mode today aren't you, I love it!

I did my passport on Monday, took less then 10 minutes with the on-line passport app, the nice lady said two weeks. I also hit the drug store and picked up the breath-right strips, more gravol, and sunscreen. I am getting kind of worried about formal nights, I might just eat up stairs, I am not really looking forward to dressing up, since I don't have cute dresses. I did see a couple of cute dresses on Avenue, but they really aren't dressy enough, will have to see what is avaliable when I get to Buffalo in May.

Pj

PJ...

Come and be comfy!!! We just want your lovely company!!! I'd wear sweats if I could get away with it!!! I just found a few dresses on sale and I also have a nice black skirt to wear...

You know I just thought of it... Most of us are getting stuff on clearance which is funny seeing as we broke the bank to pay for the cruise!!! :rotfl:

kilt.jpg

Very nice... & what time do you have dinner so we can get a glance at you so dressed up????

It is quiet tonight? Where is everybody?

Anyway, I am off to bed soon.

I told my son today about the Pirate Boat at PV:sad1: But he said that is okay, happy to go to swimming at Paradise Beach Hotel. Oh well, I am releived now.:cool2:

Goodnight

Scottishwee35:flower3:

Aren't kids great?

Well, I just got off the Wonder. My rotation was PTA and our dining time was 6 p.m. every night. If the Magic matches the time then Parrot Cay has the latest time on the 1st night.

Linda!!!

How was your trip?????

If we're going to wear ethic garb, I'll make sure to pack a traditional babushka to go along with the tux and make sure I bring along a traditional shopping bag and roll my socks down. I must have some shopping bags that have been handed down from generation to generation. Probably ones my grandmother smuggled out of Russia when she was running away from the Cossacks.

Cary Grant meet Tevia????

Here's a cool picture to show you just how trickey it really is to get that ship docked at Castaway Cay.

CASTERWAYCAY.jpg

Gotta get it right in that dark blue spot!

.

Nice parking space.... I think I see my Hammock... ;)

I'm freaking out about being gone for two weeks! I put that pressure on myself though. I don't think I could have pulled on any additional time.

I work freelance... I get to take whatever time I want... of course I will travel with the laptop, etc... so they can bug me or not (depending on if I want to check in... :rotfl: ). They also know that I am going on the trip and my stock answer has been.... "I don't even want to know any of you for the month of May... and of course 2 weeks in August... Don't call... send flowers... bribe me... don't even think of it!!!":thumbsup2

Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes to my husband after his operation. We are certainly looking forward to a better day tomorrow or at least in the near future. He has to go back some day to have the other knee done. Now that he knows how much pain is involved, it certainly won't be too easy to go back again.

Pain is an amazing thing... rather I should say you BRAIN is an amazing thing. I'm a vet of 6 surgeries and while I remember the pain, I don't remember it in all it's horrific glory post op... The fear comes more from the thought of the pain than the actual pain itself. I do biofeedback alot when I'm in pain - my Drs. don't know why I don't do it all the time, but I explain that I cannot close my eyes and cut the rest of the world off when I am driving... Next time he has to go in for surgery... take my suggestion and get him a medium sized stuffed puppy. I have one... he's been through all 6 surgeries... Part of my problem and I was in a hospital hours away from home also was the hours inbetween when I was alone and in pain. My mom would bring in Jeremy and leave him on the bed as soon as I was in recovery... he stayed with me and I was never alone. I know it's psycololgical, but it works...

Here's Jeremy at the GF... yes, he's traveling to the canal with me also...(he's great when I get migraines...)

Jan :earsgirl:

Well, unless I win the lottery, I won't have the fancy log home either!!! Probably a trailer or a cabin but access to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been on!!!

Did you ever go to the Tower Restaurant when you were there???

We have 6 or 7 kids within our group and we are 8pm dining. It works for us we are west coasters. We have to learn to fit the show in before dinner, that will be the trick for me.

Dinner at 8???? That's what they told me too!!! Wonder what it will be now that we have a table that is linked...

:grouphug: and best wishes to all who need them.

I skipped a few pages as it is my spring break and I have been busy all day. I was supposed to be scrap booking but only got 2 pages done as we went shopping instead. Tomorrow more shopping and scrapping. My local scrapbook store is having having a class to make about 8 disney layouts on the 30th I signed up for and I am in a swap right now. I have to go back to school and work soon. I don't think I am ever not busy but I like it. Unfotunatly when I get this busy I forget to do house work :laundy: so Sat will be that day.My headaches came back too.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will check in as much as I can.

I did request 8pm. I think everyone who is at the table should also call and request 8pm. We did late dining on the med cruise and the shows were a piece of cake. Plenty of seating always ended on time for dinner. The real problem was if there was something at 10pm up on deck. We rarely made it up there by 10 without skipping dessert.
That is why I say now, and will ask again at dinner...please order when YOU ARE ready. The dining staff wants to wait for all of the table to be seated, but sometimes people run late or don't come and the other tablemates don't know that is going on. I hope everyone is cool with that. I want to enjoy my dinner, not rush to get up on deck by 10...ya know

Ok everyone...

Mini not so sort of rant here...

I had a bit of a breakdown this morning...

Work has become a nightmare in the short run... the financing for this trip may be caught up in the mess...

I woke up in imense pain this morning and had to take 2 straight painkillers (as opposed to 2 crooked ones :rotfl2: - see Nan...I'm still laughing...)

Ended up sleeping most of the morning....

Spoke with work @ 3ish... got lots of specs and info that I swear went not even in one ear, but fully around my head (the phrase "why is he telling me this crap" went through said brain several times...)

Got no real answer to the finances part... :sad2:

Got hung up on when he had to take another call...

Sat there and sincerely started to cry...

Decided to take a short walk because if I didn't I wouldn't see the sun again until Sunday (storms coming in for tomorrow and Saturday...)

Came back in.... took 1/2 of something to calm me down (sometimes the pain meds make me nuts...)

Curled up with Jeremy (see above picture)

And fell asleep watching MSNBC and all the election crap. (can you imagine the weird dreams I have when I'm on meds... add Chris Mathews...)

I'm a bit better tonight, but I still have to try and get an answer tomorrow about the cash... Friday isn't the best day to find that stuff out... banking closes early for them...

Oh and I have a Frosty from Wendy's in the freezer... a saving grace...

So... that's me for now...

Hoping to get back to using happier smilies very soon...

I need spring... Is it coming soon???

Michelle, I'd give you tons of hugs and MILLIONS of Smarties if I could. Hang in there and just keep telling yourself you'll be resting in paradise with all of us before you know it! :grouphug:

OK, I posted a bunch of clutter on Freecycle and am REALLY headed to bed this time! Goodnight all! And bunches of hugs to all who need them.

Thank you so much angie. I was worried about my stuff like that. I'll pack them in the makeup bag inside the check in suitcase and hope that all is ok. I'll call the airlines too just to be certain. I would hate for them to have to pull it out and open all my stuff.

If you are chosen, they can go through your checked luggage too. Just because it is x-rayed, does not mean it is not opened also.

We had tablemates on one cruise who were from South Africa. They said that their luggage was opened and sorted five times from S.A. to Miami. This was BEFORE September 11th. It was normal travel for them. We felt so blessed to be Americans. Now we have some of the same concerns the rest of the world has had for a long time. They said they could not pack tightly because if the sorting people could not get everything back in haphazardly, then it could be left at that sorting station and not go on the trip.

The lady said she packs her undies in zip locks so they can be seen and handled without her feeling she need to wash them all. I "saw" her idea and "raised" her one--I pack my undies in zip locks and put them in my carry-on. I have had my carry on opened and sorted through, but at least I am standing right there!

I fly in support sox from the hospital--TEDS. Don't want my edema to come back and the plastic surgeon said that low air pressure on the plane could be just the thing to make it happen. So I put on the TEDS and some tennis sox and my sneakers. At the security site I put the sneakers in the plastic bin and walk through in the two pair of sox. On the other side I take off the tennis shoes and put my clean TEDS in my clean sneakers. The tennis sox that walked on the floor go in a zip lock in the carry on and at the first hotel they go in the dirty clothes bag.

Meds should be packed in their own prescription bottles, not in a weekly sorter with compartments.

Hey Jill...

Hope your feeling better soon  . For some reason, maybe it's the weather...we're all feeling pretty off right now... Hopefully it will all be better soon!

Thanks Holly!!!

I hope I'll be resting in paradise... I guess I'm just really worried that this project isn't going to come in on time - it went slow for a while then speeded up and now it's snagged again and it seems that it's nothing that I have any control over. But I chose to work this way and I guess I have to take what comes... I just hope it works out soon or else I may be sending the Royalty on without me and moving Steve up to Prince Consort or something... :upsidedow

I hope he starts feeling better fast and you can all make it home!! It always seems to make things better when you can at least be in your own home!! Best wishes and prayers headed your way!!!

Home definitely is the nicer place to be. Stuck in a motel room and not feeling comfortable just doesn't do it. There is a very nice pool and pirate play area for the girls but they are more than ready to get home too. I hate to have them out of school this whole week when they are missing all of May. My husband's follow up appointment is mid March as well so that will be two more days of missed school. Their teachers have been great though and the girls do well in school so that helps. They are watching the Bratz Movie right now.
