On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise?
It dawned on folks today that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks. I added, "Yeah, I'll be on a ship in the Ocean too, so no phone, not unless you want to call me ship-to-shore and bear the charges."
So, how did you guys manage the time off?

This is a great doctor you had for your mom. My father is a retired doctor. He graduated from a Jesuit run medical school. As the dean of the school (an elderly priest) awarded my father one of the few honor society keys given, he reminded my dad that good surgeons had high marks and skills, but great surgeons recognized that G_d guided their hands and allowed them to use their skills to their best ablility. There is a longer and better story about this, but it will have to wait until on board ship and with a mug in hand.![]()
When the nurse called this morning to check on my mom I asked her to thank the surgeon for the great job he did. Still no pain and we are more than 30 hours out of surgery. I need to head home tomorrow and I am feeling very comfortable doing that since she is doing so well and getting around with no problem. She soon will be ready to dance with the pirates again!
A note from my friend who was in a cat. 11 - her husband sent her roses and she had no space for them, so they kept ending up on the floor. After about 4 days she kept saying "I love them, but I wish they'd die!"
Has anyone who did their flights through DCL received their flight information yet?
We got our original times somewhere around the 22nd of February from our TA and then we got a change on the 25th. It is not on the web site yet. The info they sent out said it would be on the web site around April 10th.

This is a good question for those that have cruised before. How many times would you wear a dress? I'm trying to cut down on what I bring so I thought I would try to wear all my dinner clothes a few times. I won't wear them during the day, just to dinner and after if I need to.
KILT! We will need pictures of that. Or will you wear your kilt when we pickup our Smart. After all - that should be a formal affair - right.![]()

For those of you who have already gotten your dinning rotation--how did you get it? My DH just got off the phone(he was on speaker phone so I heard the conversation), and asked the CM on DCL if we could get our dining rotation. She told us that it had not been assigned yet. He told her that several people on the DIS boards had already gotten theirs. She actually LAUGHED and said there was no way anyone could have their rotations because the room numbers and dining rotations would not even be given out until 30 days prior to cruise. He again said that some people DID have their rotations. Her reply was-"well, some people will say anything, but that doesn't mean it's true. There is no way they could know because I don't even know." I thought she was RUDE!!! She did acknowledge that some people did have their room numbers. Needless to say, here I go again-filling out another survey which I am sure will do no good.
Those who have their rotations-because I know who I believe-(and it is NOT her),are you booked through DU or another TA. We are just booked through DCL--maybe that is the difference???
Thanks...Vicki
Thanks for the invitation gydell - I wish we could. But if we cruised one more time without DD Staci, we would have been in real trouble.![]()

Yup, Spirit from DTW to MCO, I think we get in around 11:30am.Holly did you get your flights?
Yeh, rub it in.![]()
I get four weeks vacation and put in my request in DECEMBER of 06! Kept the approval e-mail from my manager too and kept reminding them. Then, once I actually GOT my reservation...well, they haven't had a moment's peace with me mentioning it about every day.![]()
2009.....FIVE WEEKS VACATION! Oh Yeah!
...time to head towards the old homestead.....
.
V.....hang up and try again.....you'll get a different CM and one will tell and one won't tell.....just a luck of the draw......and make sure you call the CC phone number.....you can get it off of the website.
4 weeks vacation a year, and I work at a school where my busy time is during summer vacation. So it's a no brainer..now pulling my 4th grader received more trouble, but it'll be worth it!? right!
Well the GS-13 position fell through. Was very, very disappointed at first. Then I was told I am going to be offered a GS-14 position! Sweet - they are going to grandfather my 6 years of active duty and the past three years I have been on contract. This means on top of all the benefits and stability (which is what I was most excited about), I will be receiving a raise in pay! Nice little cherry!
Received a call late, late last night from Shawn. I was way off on the time-line for the store opening. It really opens tomorrow morning at 9am. Hence the reason he will be coming home on Saturday - yes I am not always on top of everything. They had their Grand Opening Gala last night at Ala Moana and it apparently was a huge success. The store is suppose to be beautiful and the fashion show was in his words "hot". Says he has been working non-stop while he has been there, but after 26 days in Hawaii, I imagine he will be arriving home very tan! Jerk!
