It is quiet tonight? Where is everybody?

Anyway, I am off to bed soon.

I told my son today about the Pirate Boat at PV:sad1: But he said that is okay, happy to go to swimming at Paradise Beach Hotel. Oh well, I am releived now.:cool2:

Goodnight

For what it is worth, and it is a personal decision, I really wanted a formal dress but did not wish to spend $$$$ on a dress that I would not wear a lot. I ended up with a beautiful dress on clearance at a large Bridal Outlet - I never would have thought of looking there. Someone passed along the hint to me - so I am passing it along to you.

I will have two formals. I went looking for a new one for the 11 night SC at a high end resale store and found one for $15. Then I was in Penny's and found one one their sales rack for $12 but when I paid, it ended up being $9. By the time I had them altered and cleaned they were still cheaper than one new one would have been. :thumbsup2 Couldn't resist such good bargains so I now have two formals.

Opps, I'm sorry. That sold out quickly. Again I am sorry. However they have tons of other really cute stuff in stock. Also you can go to their warehouse in orlando and shop too or have them pull together the stuff on your wish list and pick it up. Hours are limited and I would love to go but they are always closed or I don't have a car.

No need to be sorry! They have some really great stuff on that site. Glad you pointed me there. :)

Beautiful photo, very proud to see that.

My photos of my son and husband :

Very sharp, indeed!

Those are some pretty good looking legs! :thumbsup2 Didn't realize you were Scottish. You all look good in your kilts.

We have a lot of ancestors from Scotland. The strongest line if from my mother - Clan Johnston, which is the tartan we wear. We also have a slightly smaller percentage of Clan Rose.

For those of you who have already gotten your dinning rotation--how did you get it? My DH just got off the phone(he was on speaker phone so I heard the conversation), and asked the CM on DCL if we could get our dining rotation. She told us that it had not been assigned yet. He told her that several people on the DIS boards had already gotten theirs. She actually LAUGHED and said there was no way anyone could have their rotations because the room numbers and dining rotations would not even be given out until 30 days prior to cruise. He again said that some people DID have their rotations. Her reply was-"well, some people will say anything, but that doesn't mean it's true. There is no way they could know because I don't even know." I thought she was RUDE!!! She did acknowledge that some people did have their room numbers. Needless to say, here I go again-filling out another survey which I am sure will do no good.
Those who have their rotations-because I know who I believe-(and it is NOT her),are you booked through DU or another TA. We are just booked through DCL--maybe that is the difference???
Thanks...Vicki

I think my grandmother told me I was from the clan MacPhearson (sp). On my dad's side I was Scots, Irish, Welsh and Cherokee Indian and on my mom's I was pure German. I need to find the time to do some serious research into my ancestry.

Darn got some bad news today.

I had to send my Canon Powershot S2 away (the older version of V's new camera I do believe) to get repaired for the trip.

Apparently the zoom motor in the camera has died and Canon does not have just the motor available. In order to fix the motor you have to replace the entire lens and motor system. That is going to cost me $364 when all was said and done ($95 labour, $210 parts, S&H and taxes).

Seeing as how I can buy the newer model for just over $400 (S5IS), I just don't see that it is worthwhile to get this one fixed.

I was hoping to buy the Pentax K200D dSLR next week and have the S2 as a backup, so now I have to make a decision whether or not to buy the S5 or just stick with the Pentax and bring it on this trip....

By the way, if you have a Canon Powershot S2, S3 or S5 I would recommend you visit www.lensmateonline.com and get one of their adapters to help avoid impacts to the lens system.

I am going to pick up the Canon SX100 iS as my secondary camera for this trip. I have the S3 iS but wanted a smaller have up on deck camera as well, and the Sx100 has 8 mp and 10x opt, so it will be good.

Even the travel agents can't get your rotation for you. You can request and you can find out that if you get a certain dining time (which you will not find out until you check in at the port) what the rotation will be. But there are 6 dining times so you are just guessing. I don't know about cats 1-3.

Time to brave the pouring rain and hail and head home.....

I called and requested a dining rotation - I am spoiled as I asked my TA to do this for me - we will see - no guarentees I am told.

Thanks for the heads up.

Off to see what the pretty pink roses look like now...Were they ordered from the Dis site?

Yes, they're on the DCL site......click on gifts, I think it says......they're really pretty and reasonably priced, I thought.

Crashing the thread, Ken? :lmao:

No, I am not wearing my kilt to help you pick up the smart!

I don't have any photos of me from that trip, although I do have one of me and my younger brothers that were taken about a year ago. (I am on the left).

Very nice Tony - If you can also play the bagpipes, I'm hooked. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has a great cruise through the canal - we sure did back in 2005.

I called and I asked if I could request a certain time for dinner. He said yes but there is no guarantees but would probably get what I wanted. I told him I wanted 6:00 and he said ok and I said do you know what dining rotation that is and he said he could figure it out. He came back and told me it was APL. I then posted and told everyone and they say that APL is usually 5:30 so now I'm second guessing this. The strange thing is that he was really polite and even gave me info about the formal nights and deck parties and I didn't even ask him about that.

Sounds like your lifeboat will be decorated nicely. Don't forget you can order from Shirley, usually for less.

Hey there I don't think I have seen a post from you before. Are you cruising the repo? I see in your post you are doing the July 27th Mexican. I am going to do that one as well as the repo. I am so caught up in this thread I think I will work on the July 27th thread after this cruise. :rotfl:

Just lurking - we were on the 2005 westbound PC cruise. Stop by the July 27th thread is you get a chance. Small group so far.

Thanks Gydell, I guess I just want to know something..anything...specifically about our reservation. I guess I have no choice but to wait.:confused3 It's getting close, and it is starting to seem real, so I'm one of the "inquiring minds" that wants to know...Vicki:)

Well if I'm going to be in it for at least another 6 weeks, I might as well get roses for it. I'll go to Shirley's website and check it out. Thanks Gydell.

Are they doing 6 - 6:15 - and 6:30 times?

You can call her and get anything you want. She is a regular florist.

Kelly and I keep telling you that you can cruise with us, there's a cat 4 that keeps coming up, and you don't even have to do the lanyards!
