some people have been posting theirs already! And I think on our last cruise the person who headed up our dining had all that prior to us getting to the port. :confused3

V, I am pretty sure that John put in a time request for our dinning, when he requested the linked dinning. I can't remember which one, but it is in the e-mail with DU.

What time are we kicked off the ship in LA? I think last time it mattered when your dining was. We are booked for late dining.

Wanna try and schedule my transportation to the hotel but not sure when I should book it for.

I got the medical form from Disney Cruise for our deaf family. (I think for interpreter I don't know why I have to fill in) Had it for 3 cruise.

I went along to the doctor reception for the doctor to sign it. I left it and come back. While two weeks ago I took my son Keith to see the doctor because Keith have wart on the finger also trouble eater (refused to eat any fruits and veg) and he have trouble tummy!! Reception told me that my doctor will charge me 32 pounds for sign it!!:scared1: Lucky, I have an appointment with another doctor as she was signed the form for last Cruise with Med. So I took the form and went along to see her. Guess what she signed it and didn't charge me at all. I walked away with it.

Deb they make DM fill one in every cruise too. We even stay in the same room each time, you would think that would keep it on file with our CC number. They seem to know I am lactose intolerant even without me filling a form. (shhh, that a secert I am bringing pills this cruise, because I want to try foods I haven't had before.)

I must have missed a posting about deafness. I used to know American Sign Language extremely well.

When I lived in the UK I met a group of people who were deaf and it was a bit funny because, as I said, I know ASL and sign language is different in the UK.

A Canadian deaf person had to translate back and forth from ASL to BSL.

The company has just settled a class action lawsuit for $23 million!!!!

"There's no credible evidence that what's in Airborne can prevent colds or protect you from a germy environment," David Schardt, a nutritionist at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, said in a written statement this week. "Airborne is basically an overpriced, run-of-the-mill vitamin pill that's been cleverly, but deceptively, marketed."

The herbal supplement of vitamins and minz was created back in 1999 with the intent of helping to fight off colds.

It was invented by Victoria Knight-McDowell, a second-grade teacher who according to the product's site, "studied the benefits herbal therapies used in Eastern Medicine." The company also claimed it "boosts the immune system with seven herbal extracts and a proprietary blend of vitamins, electrolytes, amino acids and antioxidants."

Back in March 2006, after an ABC News report revealed that the company's clinical trials were not conducted by doctors or even scientists, Airborne changed their advertising campaign when a plaintiff filed suit against them.

Turns out the "clinical trials" were just conducted by two random individuals!

Shortly after, advertisements for Airborne stopped mentioning the clinical studies and the cold-curing claims. Instead, Airborne began advertising itself as helping to boost the body's immune systems.

Airborne will now be fighting off cash collectors for a total of $23.3 million to settle the class-action lawsuit brought against them.

Those suing claim the company provided false advertising since it could not be proven that Airborne actually helps prevent colds.

Then in late 2006 the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a non-profit advocacy group, joined the suit as co-counsel against Airborne. Later in 2007 the FTC and some attorney generals began investigating the cold-preventing claims as well.

The CSPI said the Airborne company will have to refund money to consumers who bought its product, and it will pay for advertisements in large publications with instructions on how to get refunded.
Yeah, I got that information in an e-mail telling me what to do to get refunded for up to 6 boxes. I'm not going to do that though just out of principal. I get so mad when people are sue-happy just because they didn't have the common sense to know that there is NO cure for the common cold, and nothing is absolutely guaranteed to prevent a cold. It works for us perfectly, so I'm angry about that whole topic. Everybody knows that zinc and other things do boost your immune system, but whatever particular formulation is in Airborne works for me, so I'll continue using it. Tyler hasn't had a cold for 2 winters in a row, until the slight cough he had 2 nights in a row this week, and he might get the sniffles now and then, but when he starts drinking Airborne at first sign of that stuff, it never develops into a full-blown cold. Same with me. Sure, he got the flu, but it's the first time in his life that he's ever had it, so that's not bad. And I didn't get it. His dad and stepmom did (they don't use Airborne and I do). It could very well just be coincidence, but whatever the reason, it works for me! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

did anyone I am linked with request seating? pj? john?

V, you are in planning mode today aren't you, I love it!

I did my passport on Monday, took less then 10 minutes with the on-line passport app, the nice lady said two weeks. I also hit the drug store and picked up the breath-right strips, more gravol, and sunscreen. I am getting kind of worried about formal nights, I might just eat up stairs, I am not really looking forward to dressing up, since I don't have cute dresses. I did see a couple of cute dresses on Avenue, but they really aren't dressy enough, will have to see what is avaliable when I get to Buffalo in May.

If you have lumier's on a night that isn't formal do you dress nicer than you would at the other restaurants? If so, what would you wear?

See this is why I like Lumierer's on Formal night, because I would want to dress up a little more in there on non-formal nights. Being in Lumierer's for formal night cuts down on my fancy stuff packing.

Actually, I'm more comfortable in pants. On our last cruise, I wore pants for formal night. I have a nice pair of fancy black pants and I just bought a really formal looking top - they have so many at Nordstroms and Macys. I was perfectly comfortable and didn't feel out of place with DH in a tux. We both were in black and white and it was so nice to feel comfy too!

All my formal outfits are pants.

Darn got some bad news today.

I had to send my Canon Powershot S2 away (the older version of V's new camera I do believe) to get repaired for the trip.

Apparently the zoom motor in the camera has died and Canon does not have just the motor available. In order to fix the motor you have to replace the entire lens and motor system. That is going to cost me $364 when all was said and done ($95 labour, $210 parts, S&H and taxes).

Seeing as how I can buy the newer model for just over $400 (S5IS), I just don't see that it is worthwhile to get this one fixed.

I was hoping to buy the Pentax K200D dSLR next week and have the S2 as a backup, so now I have to make a decision whether or not to buy the S5 or just stick with the Pentax and bring it on this trip....

By the way, if you have a Canon Powershot S2, S3 or S5 I would recommend you visit www.lensmateonline.com and get one of their adapters to help avoid impacts to the lens system.

what is going on? The studentbody president of Chapel Hill was shot to death, an Alabama student went to school and shot himself in front of 150 classmates, UC Davis has found explosives in the dorm.....!

Some of the nicest outfits I have are pants. I too am more comfy in pants but the dresses are a "cruise thing" for me. It really is not a big deal either way though as I change for dinner then change right back after dinner any how!

I like dresses, just wish I had my old body back. You know I have had over a year to lose weight for this cruise and darn it, I am heading in the opposite direction!

Now my bunny is gone!

Did you have a bunny?

I know just what you mean. I have managed to drop a little but still really have loads to lose. It was the same with our son's wedding almost 2 years ago. I had a whole year and the shame of the bride's family being stick thin, but I still didn't manage it. Still, V, there is 9 weeks to go so that could be 18lbs!!!:rolleyes1

I would love to lose 2 a week!
I have been good yesterday and today and I am going to run after work as well as hit the pool. I need some little weights though, I hate doing them at the gym.
