We got hooked on Cranberry Margaritas one cruise. Those were so refreshing.

I usually call the regular margaritas Adult Lemonade.

Hi Sandy.....it's got absolute mandarine, triple sec, sour mix, cranberry and sprite. We asked them for the recipe so we could make them at home. Yummy!

I can't bring mine, I was co-editor and the staff had fun writing in my copy as I graduated a semester early, spend the second semester working and only came around to do the YB after work each day. So they had fun including all the inside jokes from that year in the YB office/dark room, before I came in the that afternoon to hand them out to the students. Oyva! It does bring back the memories, but 16-18 years olds can have one track minds, lol.

I'm a graduate of the early 70's as well. My claim to fame is living the REAL Remember the Titans! Hmmm... don't recall the coach looking quite as nice as Denzel Washington though..... I had the other coach "Coach Yoast" for driver's ed!

Have you thought of getting a splint/support for Molly's knee to wear for a little while. Maybe I'm not describing it well...

Hopefully if you can get something to rest her knee it may help... but if it doesn't get better... take her for help!!!

Paul talked to her doctor (ENT) today who suggested if the swelling didn't go away by the end of the week, call the doctor. Once she is off it and iceing it does seem to look better.

I was thinking about a brace, I think I have one....

HEY EVERYBODY, GUESS WHAT!



I got a monitor to hook my laptop up to! I'm baaaaaaaaaack! I LOVE FREECYCLE! I checked one last time right before leaving work and a guy had posted that he had a bunch of computer stuff to give away, including 3 monitors. So I e-mailed him my phone number, he called right after I picked up Tyler from school, and we immediately went to pick it up. His former roommate used to repair computers and when he moved out, he left tons of computer parts lying around, so the remaining roommate is trying to get rid of it all. It's not the greatest monitor because the color is almost all faded out of the screen, and there are a couple lines going across it towards the top, but IT WAS FREE AND IT'S WORKING!

I don't know Nan, I dislocated my knee cap when I was in elementary. I had to wear a full leg brace which did not allow me to bend it for 6 weeks and then do PT for weeks after that. It hasn't given me a bit of trouble since then tho. Maybe you could call an ortho and at least phone consult with a nurse. Do you have any friends with dr-ly husbands?

hmmm...maybe I'll call her doctor tomorrow. He will talk to me over the phone about it then we can decide. Thanks for the feedback.

This reminded me of neighbors we had in Fla. They asked us to feed their cats while they were gone. After a few days I started looking for the litter box. I couldn't find it and got worried about where the cats were leaving their presents. I finally found the spot. They had trained their cats to go in the tub. They would run the shower to rinse the items down the drain.

Yes I think it will be totally crazy there as all the Dissers will be beating down the doors when they open!

Be prepared though all you Hummer limo people as those limos are not able to pull up close to the terminal like the little cars. At least the super jumbo stretch ones that is, as I think they allow up to a certain size. I know it is not really far but if you travel with a million suitcases like me having to roll them down the block across the walkway to the building sucks!

2 dogs, 1 turtle, 1 rabitt = petsitter...$40+ per day

I can usually board my 2 girls (together) and give them either an additional social hour or private one-on-one time with a human for about $45 a night. if I want to feed them special (read not dry kibble at night) and ice cream - that will run me about $48/day. It can add up but the human girls we found out tend to spoil my girls and they usually get the required play time and then another one if I pay for it or if they are bored and caught up with their duties. ssst: I think I may have tipped them too much in the past but don't tell DH that)

I'm sorry you won't be joining us, but how exciting about your husband's business. Having grown a business ourselves we understand those constraints. Only now are we reaping the benefits. I hope things continue to go well for you and you can get on that Christmas or 2009 cruise and have a great time!

Hey Marilyn - I know what you mean - we started our business in 1996 and only now (well started last year) are we starting to reap any benefits. I worked the entire first 5 years for the insurance and then when we were finally starting to swim - I was lucky enough to let that go. But last year and this year is the first time that I think I've been able to "understand" that we really can afford this if we budget right. Its a nice feeling. Makes the last 10 years all the more worthwhile. (BTW, I drove the same car for 8 of those 10 years - and it was working fine but DH felt it was time to get a new one) Don't understand that mentality - he was tired of seeing it. My version - if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

Hi Scottishwee - that be me - I was lucky enough (see reply above to be there) Andrew, Julie and the others on that cruise wave Lynnaise) were fantastic and I got to fulfill many a childhood dream on that one. Now if DCL continues to read my mind - they will open up a lot of new ports of which I will be cruising too.

You posted a couple of times on our post so that's how I remembered you. It'll be fantastic to finally put a face to a name after this. I'm finally allowing myself to get about this cruise! Its for real!!!

I just replied to Woody who mentioned that he was on the last EBPC cruise.

I just wonder - does anyone here on the thread know how many PC-repeat-DIS cruisers are doing this again?

Anyone know where I might be able to find that info?

yes I don't want to hurt her of course, but I also don't want to pay for xrays and a visit to be told, ice and stay off it. Common sense does work for somethings... I'll call her doc in the morning and talk to him and see what he thinks. We are of the same mind most of the time.

I think during that era everyone had a "coach" for driver's ed - it's like they all studied it in college. I can hear the interview - "SO Coach, what did you study in College?" "Well Jim, I majored in Phys Ed (PE) and minored in Driver's Education."

That is very cool about the Titans (I love that movie - it should be required viewing for every 6th grader). Didn't we have someone in the group from Marshall too? (never meet a coach that cute either)

Ok so I have had a very rough day. I had to teach childrens church this morning but didn't sleep well last night. The childrens church is very unorganized and the kids are nuts. I won't be doing it anymore after April. Then, I was walking around the house today thinking I really want to go to the MK. I fell down the steps. Yes thats right, I was walking along and some how one foot went out in front of me and the other under me. I am ok, a little sore. Dh came made sure I was ok and laughed at me. I learned to to walk near step day dreaming of Disney. I took a nap and DH took me out to dinner.


Also wanted to give to anyone who needs them.
