May 1-4, 2014 Bahamian Disney Dream Cruise

Just wondering how many here used a TA? I was reading a TR and the OP used Dreams Unlimited so we're thinking about transferring our booking. I'm so overwhelmed and DH thinks it's a good idea if we do.

Any input will be appreciated.

Last year we used AAA, and received a free photo package worth $100.
For this cruise, we used Dreams Unlimited, and will receive $50 OBC, and a gift basket from them. If i pay all of it using my Chase Visa, i'll also get an additional $50.00 OBC.
We're also continuing this cruise by staying in the same state room from the 4th-8th. We booked this part of the cruise first and used AAA. Not sure what "special" we may receive. Booking on your own, you generally receive nothing, sometimes a little OBC for booking online.
Hope this helps :)

Everybody should have a TA. They do all the work and leave you with just the fun. Just find a reputable one to help you. You always get some kind of perks and sometimes they can save you real money. Last year our TA saved us over $400 on a WDW stay because she stayed on top of the discounts Disney was offering at the resorts.pixiedust:

I do believe that there is a limited period of time you can transfer from one TA to another. From what i remember, Disney started that not too long ago.

I did contact Dreams Unlimited and I was told that because I was transferring my booking I would not receive the $50 OBC. I still have to call Costco and find out if I will get the cash card if I transfer. :confused3

Just thought I'd check in. After much going back and forth we decided to keep our booking with DCL and not transfer it to a TA.

I've been stalking the DCL website and managed to changed our category again. So far it's been 9A to 8D to 8C ... with 8B being the ultimate goal. At this point, not looking good because they wouldn't even wait list us :confused3

Anyway, hope you're all well and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Welcome to the 3 Day Disney Dream Bahamian Cruise Meet Thread May 1-4, 2014 Are you going? Come join our thread and post your thoughts and ideas!

We have decided to book this cruise to make some memories with our 2 granddaughters, 9 & 5! It will be our first Disney cruise and we are very excited! We are veteran Carnival cruisers and love to cruise! We will actually book it next week once Dreams Unlimited calls!

Our favorite is currently the Fantasy.

The Magic will also always hold a very special place in my heart. It was my very first cruise. Because of that cruise, I fell in love with cruising.

Haha...me too. Magic was our first and the start of our addiction. Did the MV of the Fantasy and fell in love. This will be our third and probably final cruise on the Dream (my least favorite thus far). We opted for B2B's on the Dream to make gold status faster.

I LOVE the staff of the Dream. We actually changed our sailing date to ensure our wait staff and room host would be back from their 2mos vacation. However, we found there is a completely different crowd on the shorter cruises vs the 7day that we have grown used to. And I know this will sound crazy but there were SOOOO many kids.....lol. The longer cruises I think are more evenly distributed on the adult:child ratio. The shorter cruises know the adults were definitely outnumbered....lol.

Don't we get me wrong, we still had a FABULOUS time!!! I mean it is Disney after all.

We are officially booked!! Cabin 8675 - a little further aft than I like but that's okay! My friend Elizabeth and her kids are now going with us! Now I am putting together the big reveal for Christmas!! Already got a DCL autograph book, Minnie ears are on the way, and the part that will reveal is a photo of Mickey and Minnie waving at the ship that I'm editing with text to say YOUR'R GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE - and this pic will be made into a puzzle and they'll each have pieces to put together!! I can't wait!!

Getting so excited for the big reveal on Christmas Day!! I broke my leg this past Sunday so ow I have lots of time get creative!, I'm having surgery Friday and the 6 weeks off work.. Ugh.. So figured I'd probably work on the fish extender!!

Sorry to hear about the leg. Feeling any better? How did the reveal go?

HAPPY NEW YEAR DREAM CRUISERS!! I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting more excited each day! We sail 4 months from today!! WOOOHOOO! Our granddaughters have started the countdown and are just as excited!! Is everyone signed up for Fish Extenders??

So what I'd everyone plan on doing in Nassau? Castaway Cay? We've decided to stay on the ship in Nassau - we've been there several times and not our favorite port. So will plan a day of fun on the ship! Castaway Cay - no clue! Just gonna kinda go with the flow checking out the island. We live in FL by the beach, so beach, water is not that big a deal! Definitely gotta see the crab races though!

What are the crab races? Have you been to Atlantis? We may stay on the ship at Nassau for this cruise, but may go to Atlantis on the 2nd leg of the cruise. I'm not interested in the waterpark there...would really like to see the aquarium though :)

On reading info about Castaway Cay, apparently there are crab races each day - hermit crabs!

Nassau - I've been to Atlantis - spent 5 days - it's amazing! BUT... on our cruise 2 years ago,we went to Nassau and went over to Atlantis and they were charging $65 Per Person to pass thru the casino and go to the aquarium! Insane!! So needless to say, we headed back to ship! And the port area is so PACKED with people. There are usually 3-4 ships in port on this little island. I'd be a nervous wreck with our granddaughters there. So, we'll stay back on the ship and take advantage of short lines on the AquaDuck and just having some fun time with them!

I think the picture you choose conforms to the necessary size. I have had problems with the avatar lately, and had to ask the IT crew here to help out.

Agreed...that is an expense. My wife and i were just talking about this... I can't see spending a lot of money for a few hours time. I was interested in the aquarium, but i think we made the decision to forget about that idea and go to a large aquarium stateside someday...make that a trip of its own. :) We would like to try some of the wine tastings, other things on the ship :)

Plan on staying aboard in Nassau as well even though it is our first Disney cruise we have been to Nassau before. Do not know what to expect for anything else. Just really excited to be on the ship. Saving money for a deposit for the next cruise already. Going to try a Caribbean or Alaska maybe in 2015. We shall see!
