After much searching I have finally found this site! this has to be Disney wedding planning heaven!

The story: (in very short form)
-My name is Mireya (mee-ray-ah) but people call me Reya for short. I am 21 years old, a university student and live in Canada. My fiancee, Matthew until this past January09' lived in Las Vegas. He moved to Canada to be with me (silly, wonderful guy). We met on a cruise in 2005 (yup i was 16 and he was 15... oh so young i know) and have been dating ever since. This past May09' he proposed to me in Disneyland.
We plan to get married once we've finished schooling, which would be around 2012. Obviously I have a lot of time to prepare, but I just couldn't wait to start planning and sharing! I have been dreaming since I was a little girl about getting married at Disney. :cloud9:

Here is my engagement ring:

Of course the first thing I started to do after I got engaged was look for a wedding dress. I am a total sucker for princess style wedding gowns. I have been watching TLC's Say Yes to the Dress for a while now, and I haven't seen anything i've fallen in love with. Plus at designer prices, I really realized that I'd have to search long and hard not only for a dress i loved, but at the right price.
Here's a couple of dresses I liked. I love rhinestones! If anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than open to them!

omg! i just went through B2B-2008's PJ and I am totally in love with her dress!

Congratulations on your engagement and :welcome:

Me and my DFi also got engaged at Disneyland this year and plan for our wedding in 2012 at Disneyworld.
Your ring is gorogeous and please post away with photos, im also a fan of photo filled PJ's and TR's :)

Congratulations!!

Have you started thinking about locations and decor?

I can't wait to hear more!

Aw, congratulations on your engagement! I love that first picture of you two at Hollywood Studios! :goodvibes

Excited to see more of your ideas!

The princessy dress is truly perfect for a Disney wedding (even though it's not my style). I'd recommend checking out davidsbridal.com for dress ideas and decent prices, or one of those massive sites like houseofbrides or something. There definitely is a lot of choice.

I took a closer look @ David's Bridal, thanks for the suggestion Pirate's Princess. I live in Canada, in a place that doesn't have a location, or anything really close, but my DF's family lives in vegas. We visit often and i know in vegas, well hey they have everything.
i almost cried when i say this dress. Its wonderful. I am so much in love with it. it may be a little too flashy in person, and i don't know how the fit would be on me... but hey take a look for yourself

3 things that I am heartbroken about
(1) I wasn't planning on actually getting serious about a dress until closer, much closer to my wedding.
(2) I was planning on losing a substantial amount of weight before I tried on dresses. I've stuggled with weight since I was a child, and since getting engaged I've lost a small amount of weight, but nothing near what I was hoping to before dress searching.
(3) This dress is on sale. And for a quite reasonable rate too. for how long the sale is going to be on, i am unsure

Now i'm wondering, should I try to go try on this dress when i go to Vegas (December 15)? Or just wait till I lose the weight & the date is closer to my wedding. I've also planned and talked with my maids of honor (i have 3... no bridesmaids, just my best friends and sisters) about making a trip especially, along with my mother & mother in law 2b in order to do the "dress" experience as a group. I will only be going with my DF to visit his family in December, making the group experience impossible if i want to check out this dress. i don't want to miss a sale, who doesnt? And i'd hate for this dress to go out of season & then I wouldn't be able to find it again. But there are alot of factors working against me to try on this dress. Opinions?

update: found this on the site as a comment from a woman who purchased the dress
"I found out this dress is being discontinued so size availability is what they have left. (Main reason why I bought it so early)"
*cries*:sad2:

That dress is gorgeous and if it was me i'd have to go check it out if i had the chance espcially since its being discontinued. I'd not want to loose out on a dress that could be THE ONE, im having a simular situation myself.

My parents have decided after 25 years of marriage that they are going to divorce. Its not exactly shocking news, but things have been complicated greatly since they aren't talking except through lawyers. This has caused a push back in the wedding date. I guess you can choose your friends, but family is family...

:headache:

First I want to say congrats and welcome!! Your dress is gorgeous! And a total :bride: dress I am also trying to loose weight and therefore waiting to even look at dresses... I have lost a good bit but still want to loose more!!!

I am sorry to hear about your parents. That sucks big time! I have never been through that but I am sure that you are struggling with all those changes right now. Just remember though that they do love you and I am sure that the day of your wedding will be amazing as they will want to be there for you and Matt! Just keep your chin up and it will all work out for the best! If nothing else you can just go all Bridezilla on them and tell them to get over it!

I can't wait to read more about your planning!

Wow totally forgot that I started this thread!! Well instead of explaining the many excuses that have distracted me here is updates.

My fiance and I have decided on a date of February 12, 2013 (or some date near to that) for our wedding
(1) We postponed our wedding for many familial reasons (yay divorce)
(2) We met on February 12, 2005 on a cruise (kind of a sentimental reason)
(3) February shouldn't be ridiculously hot or muggy
(4) Cheap cheap cheap!! value season = a must

I purchased my dress as mentioned, and hope to do a one on one veil purchase with my mom since we never really got to do the dress thing together.

As per our locations, the wedding pavillion was really the one and only choice since its been my dream since I was about 7-8 years old (seeing it shortly after it was built in 1995).
Our reception however is a tie right now. We haven't seen the locations in person, so that might have some pull on our decision once we make our planning trip. From pictures online we seem to like the Living Seas Salon and the Backstage Prop Shop. We really want to have an Illuminations desert party at Epcot as well. All though our invite list is 200, the real attendance guest count seems to be around 50. That is only a estimated number however, and after listening to insidedisneyweddings podcast I'm a little afraid more may come!! We haven't sent our invitations yet, so I may have to cut it down, even though most of the invites are just courtesy.
More updates will come soon. We are making some big decisions soon! princess:

1st run of our Save the Date. Done by myself and fiancee, tried to go for a retro disney feel. (see post below)

That is a fab save the date! I'm starting to think about mine and I love that style!

If you don't mind me asking what is the font you used in your signature banner??
