Masks While Not In Use In Parks

I ordered some cute disney themed ones off of etsy!

We plan on putting them in the side pocket on our backpacks. The ones for water bottles. We have a pocket on each side of ours so it will work well we hope.

Last years trip to WDW I think we just shoved them in our jacket pockets (it was dang cold in early Feb!). I just yesterday ordered some lanyards off of Amazon for our trip at the beginning of Feb. this year after hearing so many folks talking about how convenient they were-

I got a mask lanyard from the Target dollar bin and it was seriously the best dollar I spent on the trip!

As most others are saying: mask lanyards. We also had a stash of surgical ones and KN95 to change into if it got too hot or our cloth ones/other surgical ones got wet. We kept them in a waterproof pouch

Another lanyard user and another person that throws it over to my back when eating. I always keep a small snack size ziplock with a couple of surgical ones and some individual packs of disinfectant wipes in it in my pocket at well. I've found that even if I'm wearing women's shorts, the ziplock fits fine. Nothing worse that trying to wear a wet mask.

While a mask lanyard would work best, on our trip last month I didn't want my mask to cover up any of my carefully selected Disney t-shirts. So I found these "paracord keychain caribiner clips" on Amazon...clipped one end to a belt loop and when my mask wasn't on my face I clipped it to the other end. Worked great except for the several times I forgot and sat on my mask. Not a big deal since I was just wearing those disposable blue masks and grabbed another one, but if you're wearing a cloth mask and are as forgetful as I am then maybe not the best choice.

Another vote for a lanyard while moving from outside to inside doing attractions etc. I have a small pouch to store both when sitting down outside for any length of time or while eating inside. One of my dd's just wears hers on her wrist when not in use and the other uses a carbineer on her belt loop or backpack.

We have tended to wear our masks outdoors when in the parks. More peace of mind while walk through the crowds.

Ideally the recommendation I’ve seen is to not reuse surgical or N94/KN95 masks, but we store ours in clean paper lunch or bakery bags if we don’t have replacements with us - paper bags allow masks to dry out between uses.

How is that even feasable. I take off and put on my mask a good 15 to 20 times a day at Disney. Putting a mask on just to run to the washroom and then tossing it would seem like such a waste. Also puttinf one on to walk into a restaurant and then tossing it and putting a new one on to walk out. A lot of the time that doesn't even take 5 minutes.

Lanyards are great, but I recommend one with a tad bit of weight to it. The first one I bought was a light piece of string and it was actually a bit of a pain to use. I bought a light weight metal one, but it’s just enough heavier that it hangs consistently. I love it.

This may be tough to imagine without trying a bad one…..

yeah, not bringing enough masks to toss one every time I eat something or take it off outside.
