Way to go everyone!

I'm pushing extra hard because we'll be in Atlanta for part of Spring Break and I won't get much of anything in.

Today:

Run 8/Walk 2: 2 hours 18 minutes

Afternoon Walk: 1 hour 12 minutes

Brings me to:
1763/3000

Ok after a rough week with an injury, 2 kids on spring break, one sick and crappy weather, I finally got out for a long jog/run of 90 minutes.

325/1000

DisneyMagicMomma - I find this board to be very motivating as well! Congrats on your achievement.

Happy Saturday. Sun is shining, temp already 75 at noon, I want to plant/grow something! First step is to prep a site I guess....

Thank you! :goodvibes You're doing great as well! And I am a tad envious of your gorgeous weather! I'll be dreaming of all you lucky gardeners and your gardens. :)

30 minutes walking today, with DH. :) It's a good day! (Other than this awful respiratory infection, but I'm kickin' it!)

71 minutes of long run today.

Garmin battery pooped out within .8 miles... and then the iPod pooped out. So it was a tech free run, but I kind of liked that. Ran while hubs was working out at the fitness center and came home to pad thai, NOM NOM.

Does anyone else have trouble with the amount of time it takes their Garmin to get a GPS signal? It shouldn't take five minutes, right? I don't start running from the same place every time so I wonder if that has something to do with it? I have a 110.

The list is updated - congratulations to DisneyMagicMomma for (magically) reaching her goal for the month!! :cheer2: Awesome job. There's a few others who are pretty close, too. Awesome to see everyone working so hard.

We're at 46% as a group, which is awesome! (WAY too many "awesome"s in this post, sorry)

Stay healthy and injury-free, everyone! :wizard:

Okay, so... two training sessions for a total of 95 minutes. 30 minutes of really strenuous work at work. 60 minutes dancing. So..
185/1200.
March is not looking good for me. :confused3

Ok I did some big shoveling today, hopefully the last one of the year!! I'm counting 30 minutes of it although I'm sure I was out there longer.

530/1000

Thank you :thumbsup2

My turn- 50 min run so.... 470/800??? I need mrsdrake to keep track for me!

The aforementioned running tip was something I read in runners world magazine this month. It was about rhythmic breathing and making your breaths fall into a inhale for left right left, exhale right left, inhale right left right, exhale left right pattern. This way, you are alternating the footfall of the exhale, which is apparently when you exert the most force on your body. It "balances" the force out between both sides of your body. And also, the breathing should be from the diaphragm. (which is why there is extra force on the exhale because of the relaxation of the diaphragm during exhale). There is some book called "running on air" that discusses it more in depth. Anyhow, I'm always looking for ways to decrease the impact on my poor beat up joints, so I tried this. It seemed to work for me at least insofar as I was able to run faster for longer (but I suspect that had to do with my more disciplined attention to breathing than the alternating foot exhales).

I also found some additional interesting stuff in a Jenny had field book I was reading tonight at Barnes and noble. I'll save that one for next time!

When I plan to use my garmin, sometimes I'll set it outside on my porch while I change so it can find satellites. I am so impatient. But yes, sometimes it takes forever. I've heard it's worse when you travel or return from travel. I have the 610x I think. If I'm running away from home, sometimes I hold it by my steering wheel as I drive hoping it will find a signal by the time I get there.

3-15 50 minute spin class
3-16 50 minute spin class and 30 minutes walking

You said your Garmin ran out of power when you ran. Mine takes longer to find the satellites when it is low on power. My iPhone died too many times when I was doing long runs so I gave in and bought a Garmin ;)

Ran a 10K today in the 40 degree cold rain  My fingers are still not thawed out.

Also did core with stability ball situps and some upper body work.

new total 870/1200
