March Check-In Thread!

My parents did that to me when I was 10. It was the best day ever! After that, I swore that I would do that for my own kid someday. Of course, I did end up becoming a mother and did that for my son when he was maybe 5. We had such a blast. :)

Love it! DS does know we're going because he loves to help plan and has opinions about where we eat, but I said I wouldn't tell him WHEN we are going. Since he's too little to look up the actual dates for Dapper Day or the refurbishment schedule, he has no clue when we'll be there! But he's very excited thinking about what he'll wear for disneybounding each day, where we'll eat, and what we'll do each day. We've had the suitcases packed for a couple weeks now (although I actually add things while he's at school), so he can't guess by that.

DH and I will be there 24-27 March, this is his 1st trip. Staying at The Sheraton.

I'm still trying to keeps the trip a surprise, but giving my daughters hints. Their dad is playing along by rolling his eyes whenever the subject comes up, muttering about the price, etc. I mentioned getting down there early enough to go to downtown Disney to try to get them to save some money. Less than five weeks to go!

We'll be there March 14 to March 21! I'm starting packing today, I need to do something Disney related or my head will explode! :bored: Can't stand the waiting!!

l think it's so fun to surprise your kids like that!
As of this posting we are leaving in 2 days, 18 hours and 39 minutes!!!! CAN'T wait! We have been watching Disney movies like crazy to try and pass the time. :) Hubby has tomorrow off so that should help tomorrow go by quick!

1 work day left to go! :rainbow: Bad thing is its on my birthday. But I will get to celebrate my start to vacation with a birthday dinner & I get 1 day off without work prior to Flying out Friday! Disneyland here we come!

2 full days left. Tomorrow will probably go fast since DH has work off...but I am dreading thursday because I know I will be VERY restless. We are pretty much all packed. Just need to do laundry tomorrow to get the few last things in! Looks like rain on our first day at the park as of today (Saturday). I hope it's not a down pour...it's our longest day in the park so I'm really hoping to get some good ride time in!

This last week b4 the trip is so busy.... Somehow I booked haircuts all around, eyebrows for me, a makeover at sephora...THEN, ds chipped a tooth, so emergency dental appt, and his dad quit his job, last day is the day we leave, and starts his own business upon return. I have booked contractors, electricians, movers etc...this week. I haven't planned, packed, bought tickets or found a sitter for my dogs! Feeling overwhelmed :(

Jumping in... after hearing about the AP party next week, DH surprised us with a last minute trip! We're driving to SoCal on Saturday and staying till the 4th! I'm super excited and slightly freaked about trying to work all my normal planning into a few days!

Aw man, DS found out when we're going! :headache: The friend who is also coming on the trip finally broke the news to DS today at school. DS asked me to confirm, and I asked him if he really wanted to know or if he wanted to be surprised, and DS decided he wanted to know. Sigh. No surprise.

But it was awfully fun packing with him today! And he made a checklist for when we get to the GCH that said "1. read books on balcony 2. snuggle and read books 3. snuggle and people watch on the balcony 4. have snacks on the balcony" :rotfl: He's really excited about staying at the Grand!

I am sorry, ImarriedGrumpy, but it sounds like you are both making the best out of the situation.

It sounds like my youngest and your DS would be great friends. :). Disney, planning Disney, snacks, books, snuggling and the balconies of nice hotels, yeah, those are my kiddo's interests too...<3

That is for sure a lot to deal with! I'm hoping that by the time you get to Disneyland, it will be the vacation you need after dealing with all that!

Boo for having the beans spilled, but now it will be fun planning with him!

That's quite a busy time for you, Pinky! Good luck on the business adventure! Hope you can find a way to be less overwhelmed and more excited. :)

Bethany- Sorry about your DS finding out. :/ At least you'll have more fun planning, now. :)

According to my ticker, we're at 4 days to go!! We haven't purchased park tickets, train tickets, and we haven't packed.

I'm excited and ready to get things going but Mark is just being real calm about everything. I'm going to have to put a fire under the bum of this first-timer boyfriend of mine.

I'd be in a frenzy if I were you!! I have one out of town trip before our trip, so after that I will start packing. Guess I should figure out all I want to bring, anyway. Including buying a swim suit for the hotel. I know the hot tub will be calling my name! :thumbsup2

2 more sleeps!!!!!!! Tomorrow will drag. There is no doubt in my mind. I have a few things I would like to get done but I just KNOW it's going to be like, it's only 11?? Hahaha. I told hubby tomorrow is going to be the day he will have to fight coming home early. I have major butterflies today!
So it for sure will be raining our first day in the park. It sounds like it will start in the afternoon which we already planned to head back to the hotel for a couple of hours since we are hoping to stay as late as possible on Saturday since it's the only day open past 8. Only day with fireworks too which we really want to watch with our son. My plan is to head straight to Fantasyland once the park opens. Hopefully we will be able to ride a decent amount of those before we hit carnation cafe for lunch. This is our first time in Carsland too, so I would love to grab a fast pass to RSR, but that is iffy if it's raining it will probably close. We are totally not planners though. We just have an idea and then follow what our hearts desire! LOL
Can't wait!!
