March Check-In Thread!

Any suggestions on what room location or other requests? This is such foreign territory for me :) I think I may try & get a bunk bed room.

Depends on what you want. Are you a family of 5? If so, I personally would be ok asking for bunk beds and a particular view of something. If you are fewer than 5, I would probably just ask for bunk beds because priority is given to the larger parties. Is there any view you particularly prefer? As I mentioned, we requested a monorail view which is (was) considered a standard view because it was in an inner courtyard and didn't look at anything except the track and other rooms. You could ask for gardens, non parking lot, etc. With standard view, I just hope to avoid looking at parking lots mostly, LOL, and my requests usually state that.

Thanks :) yeah, we are a family of four: me, dad, 6yo & 1yo. We would be fine w/any sleeping configuration, really, do I think I'm gonna request "non-parking lot view", lol

We'll be staying at Anaheim Plaza across the street. It will save us about $40 on ART passes.
I've only stayed there once before and it had very minimal amenities but I guess all we really need is a bed and a safe, clean, place to sleep. Plus, $89/night ain't half bad.

Good news/bad news. We were hoping to go on a Tuesday of spring break (week of March 30), but we found out we can't do college tour until Tuesday so it looks like we'll be hitting the park on Monday instead. The good: one day earlier, and DL doesn't have MM (we're staying off property). Looking for the positive. If DD doesn't get into as many colleges we can go on Wednesday, but we'll probably be visiting more schools (she's super brainy so we'll have a busy week making big decisions).

4 more days to get through. 3 more work days for hubby!! I hope it goes fast. I might be peel out of here on Friday AM. I want outta here!! LOL

Jealous for those of you who are so close!!

And can I just say I'm glad I just went for it and bought park tickets!! I know the increase is not much (bad for pass holders though!) but every dollar adds up!

Just got through with my DD's birthday party weekend. My family drove up on Thursday and the party was yesterday. My house is a disaster, but she had a blast so that's what counts.

ha, that's awesome. Its really cute but the characters are way bigger than the squares on the board. Otherwise its a fun little game!

I'm dying trying to keep our March 1st departure date a secret from DS! I really want to surprise him by waking him up and telling him we're headed to Disneyland, but it's killing me trying to not say anything!! Every morning I want to yell "x more days until Disneyland!!" but I have to just pretend like it's still a long time before we go. It's so hard to go about our usual routines and stay focused on the day to day tasks when all I want to do is pack and plan for DISNEY!!!

I think all of my friends would be happy if I were doing what you are. But I've got a countdown calendar app on my phone, and show all of them every day how many I have left. (25 days, 22 hours right now). If I'm not careful, I may not have any friends left by the time I leave. :rotfl2:

My poor DH is bearing the brunt of my Disney excitement! He's not a Disney vacation fan (which is why we're leaving him home this trip), but he has to listen to me vent all of my excitement on him when DS is at school or asleep! :rotfl: Last night he said he realized that he'll get 5 days of peace while we're gone, but then he's going to have to listen to both of us rehashing every last moment of the trip for the next few months! :rotfl2:

The other day, I accidentally made a reference to when "when we get back"...oops. My oldest grinned and winked at me so he knows something is up. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold it back, LOL.

Poor guy, having to put up with the pre-trip excitement and the post-trip play-by-play. He should just learn to "let it go" and love Disney. :rotfl:

Forecast is saying rain for Saturday. I kind of think that would be nice if it was just drizzles, on/off showers. Maybe the park won't be as busy. Its supposed to snow out here on the day we start driving, so I'm glad we have planned to leave as early as we have! More family drama today so just ready to zone out of it, even if it's only for a week!

My parents did that to me when I was 10. It was the best day ever! After that, I swore that I would do that for my own kid someday. Of course, I did end up becoming a mother and did that for my son when he was maybe 5. We had such a blast. :)
