March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

My check in for today...

40 days people!!!!

Can we start packing yet?!?!? :lmao:

Ok, that just made me cry! We so desperately need this.

We have a 5 day DD booked for March 2012, but we are going to have to change it. Now to decide on whether we would rather do a land/sea...or enjoy another long cruise. Have any of you done a TA? It seems like a really nice trip with so many sea days AND tons of places we have never been. (This cruise will be the first time any of us have been out of the country!) We already have our passports, so that is not an issue.

I haven't did a TA and really have no interest in doing so. I'm not sure I could handle being out to sea for 5 or 6 days without stopping at a port. If I remember correctly, this is your first cruise. You might want to wait and see how well you like cruising before you commit to such a long one! :goodvibes

As far as packing goes
I have started my list....

2 pair flip flops
4 swimsuits
cover up
sunscreen
hat
sunglasses
book

Do you think I need much more??????? :lmao:

If anyone is planning on canceling their Palo brunch, please do let me know..i would love to experience Palo:flower3:
thanks :)

Farah - they hold back a number of reservations for those who don't book on line. I suggest getting to port early, and as soon as you board, find out where they are doing the Palo reservations and go make one. I'm sure you'll get there! :thumbsup2

I agree with Donna - you may want to make sure you love cruising first before committing to a long one.

Personally - I'd LOVE a long cruise - the sea days are my faves!!

Nope. Maybe just something to wear to Palo... but other than that, you're good. :rotfl2:

Definitely waiting until this one, but we had a houseboat when I was a kid...so I know I would probably enjoy it. I'd have to see how everyone else does!

Nope, sounds perfect to me.... Maybe you will need some extra clothing for getting on and off the ship as well as Brunch with me......:dance3::lmao: (You know my dress code restrictions):lmao: but that sounds as if you have everything covered! :lmao: Oh you forgot something to get you through the 2nights you are keeping all of the kids.... Remember since you did not have any, we did not want you to be left out.:rotfl2: Oh, I forgot; I am the medical person; so I have you covered!;)

Ok, now I have a question... We have decided to add a night at WDW. We have only stayed at POFQ and CBR. Since this is only one night, we are going to do one of the value places. Which is better? I hear Pop os big and crowded, so I guess we will skip that. Any ideas on the others? I have not even seen them? We will be using Disney Transportation.

Note to self: Add to packing list-pjs, earplugs, and eye mask for when we keep the "grand"kids and dressy JEANS for brunch with Tink! :rotfl:

We have stayed at both Pop and All Star Sports but its been a few years. I actually liked Pop better because it was more centrally located but really they aren't much different. Both are great for a short stay and they both have a food court which is a plus for quick meals.

I also think Pop is better. I find that it is not as spread out.

we stayed at all stars one time, and never, ever, again would we do that - the longest 8 days of my life!

Since it's one night, it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal, but to me it's constant noise from the minute you get up, until late that night - noise, noise, noise.. Food court, pool, check in, lobby... No matter where you go, you can't find peace and quiet...

Buy hey, that's just me - some people love constant commotion and noise.. You have the 7 night cruise to relax!

I've heard pop is better (from friends). Don't know how spread out Pop is, but all stars are really spread out, and can be quite a hike from the parking lot. Luck, or planning, might get you a place closer to the parking lot - or the lobby, if that's what you desire.

Just read over on the main board

that we NO longer have to wear life jackets to the Muster Drill!!!!

That will save quite a bit of time :)
We won't have to go back to the room to get the life jackets, or to return them before going to the sail away party!!!!

I do think it is still a good idea to try them on though at some point on the first day, so you can adjust the strap to fit you right.....
Yes, I am one of those who worries about EVERYTHING!!!!!!
Just ask my family :sad2:

I think that is a really good suggestion, especially for first timers! I wouldn't have a clue as to how to put it on in an emergency!

Woo hoo!:woohoo:

I think we may have gotten lucky. Just checked our online reservation and it looks like we may have main dining. I am glad for DH since he is a diabetic, but sad because I saw many of you have the late seating.

As for the packing lists that are going on, I must be doing something wrong. I have a lot more lines on mine. In fact, we just got our transportation vouchers for our WDW before trip and I had to call to ask for another luggage tag.:rotfl:

We have stayed at POP, and we really enjoyed it!:thumbsup2 It is big, but everything is really accessible. It didn't seem to crowded, BUT we were there right before Christmas in 2005...SO things could have changed.:confused3 We are staying at Sports this time for 1 night on the 3rd when we get into Orlando. My SiL says that it is nice, older, but nice. When we get off of the ship we are staying for 2 nights at POR (My favorite resort of all time!!!):cloud9:

4 Swimsuits...I don't even want to pack 1 :scared1:!!!!!!
But then again, while you were out running marathons, I was home ordering pizza ;) LOL!!!

TOO FUNNY!!! Sounds like me...I'll be the one with a long oversized t-shirt covering me!:scared1:

I was really surprised that when I told DD's this tonight..they were both disappointed :confused3
My youngest said that was one of her favorite things to do, was wear the life jacket to the drill and have a picture taken...guess I will be taking a picture of her in it in the room instead.... unless she decides to wear it up on deck :)
