March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

I
We sure hope that Ron's surgery went well today! Russell can totally empathize. Although he didn't tear his rotator cuff, he did dislocate his shoulder...TWICE  and had surgery both times to repair it. The last one was about 4-5 weeks before our 2006 cruise to the Western Caribbean. He got to go so I'm sure Ron will be fine and dandy by our cruise. We'll be praying that all goes well!!!

Thanks Donna...he is actually doing real well!
Before his surgery they gave him a Block which has him numb from the shoulder all the way down to his fingers, the block will last up to 18 hours, so he doesn't have any pain what so ever right now...But they warned him that will change in the morning, and will become quite painful for a couple of weeks...we are hoping that the pain meds can keep it somewhat under control after the block wears off, they said just to keep on top of the meds....

He doesn't actually start therapy for 3 weeks, which I think is a good thing, I've heard many that have had to start therapy while still in so much pain :scared1:.

SO... we are going to put him on the SPEEDY road to recover and have him ready to go in time for the Big Sail Away party!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

:thumbsup2 You are welcome :)

If I remember right this is your first cruise? So don't know this or not..but they have photographers set up every evening to take pictures of whom ever so wishes (no setting fee), and I must say the pictures are really good..pricey but good;)

Formal night is one of the nights that we usually do like to have a family picture taken (although, I like to have a lot of photos taken through out the week... ...my family, NOT so much LOL)

Another BIG thing for all your 1st timers..... on Formal Night in the lobby before dinner is the Captions Reception which means FREE DRINKS!!!!! Both alcoholic and non, if I remember right they offer two different kinds of drinks, no limit;)
So we always TRY to get down to the lobby early enough to have a couple of drinks before dinner.:thumbsup2
The reception is held right before both the early and late dinning.

They offer wine as well, but I'm thinking that there may be a fee for that??? I"m not for sure though, as we are not wine drinkers, so maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Oooh! Great information, especially the reception. It is our first cruise, but we already have one booked for next year (but will be changing it onboard). I'm not the biggest fan of pics, but it will be nice to have a family photo (I'm usually taking them and avoiding being in them!) with us all dressed up.

Ah, yes, that block is :yay: AWESOME :woohoo: according to Russell, anyway! Russell said to tell Ron to not be macho and take those pain meds as often as he can. Does he have the cooler with ice that circulates cold water to a pack on his shoulder? That's another handy gadget!!!!

I hope, Brenda, that Ron is a better patient than Russell for your sake. I'm thinking of you too.

Well, we got about 6 inches of snow last night! At least, the snow from last week had melted. I must admit it was nicer being in Florida last week when it snowed here at home than being here now!

Just got to keep thinking of all those warm, sunny days and beautiful beaches we will all be enjoying on our cruise in just a few weeks!!!!!

So anyone know when or how they play movies based on release dates? I am going on a march 5 cruise and wondering. These seem to be the movies around our cruise date.

Tron 12/2010 and Gnomeo and Juliet released 2/11/11
These are new releases so is it safe to say they will still be playing on board?

I am number 4 release 2/18/11 Still confused...is this really a disney movie or dreamworks( I think disney bought them)? But did not see it on alot of disney sites as a listed movie Will it too be playing?

Mars needs moms Release 3/11/11
Will they start playing it that day only or will it play the whole crusie? Seeing how we get off the ship the next day.Yikes

Would they play african cats said to be released 4/22/11? Wasn't sure if they waited until the actual realease date. I am guessing they do.

They tend to loop the last 7 movies that were Disney releases. So it is safe to say all 7 will be on the ship. We did not go see Tangled because we are waiting to go on the ship. If there is a movie to be released on the 11th, that Thursday night we will be the Premier audience. They will show it in the WD theatre. We have been fortunate and have been the premier audience for at least one movine on all of our Magic cruises. Just not the Wonder ones. We did Snow Dogs, Pirates, College Road Trip and that Cinderella one with the guy from Gray's Anatomy... Forgive me... Medication on the brain...
Ok, actually off to go get caught up on our thread.

We must of been on the same cruise before! DH went to see the PremEar of College Road Trip. We are hoping to (or just me) to see Tangled.

I think you can call a month or so out and they will know the movie schedule. I'll try to find the link/number to do that...

I just emailed everyone the updated spreadsheet. As usual, if you have changes, or something to add, delete, etc. let me know.

I suggested in that email and will repeat here that perhaps we can add to the spreadsheet the kids' Disboard names they are using for the "kids only" thread? I want to make sure Ryan (who will be soxdude928) actually meets the kids he's talking with and I can only facilitate that if I know who they are. :)

Hope everyone is having a great day!:banana::banana:

**********************************************************
Leave it to me.....:lmao: You know I will call and find out the movies. As soon as I do, I will let you know.

Don't forget we have to celebrate my birthday once on board guys.... I think you guys are going to start thinking we plan every cruise during my Birthday. Just by chance it happens; honest! :goodvibes So 7 rounds of Bushwackers on BJ, D & Russ are taking the kids for the week; Mark is treating me to shopping...... Any other offers...:rolleyes1:rotfl2:
DS's user name is atinkerbellson.

We must of been on the same cruise before! DH went to see the PremEar of College Road Trip. We are hoping to (or just me) to see Tangled.

I thought I had recognized you from then, but did not know where it was from. We were the Premier for it on the Magic on my birthday actually. I am hoping for one this cruise too. On our Pirates cruise; believe it or not (SHHHH!!!) I am not a big Pirates Fan. So everyone else went but me. But it was the talk of the cruise. Rachel was our CD then and she really pumped it up.... We do plan on seeing Tangled while on board. DD has been waiting..... To see that movie and to see Tiana are two things shee keeps talking about. So maybe we can view the navigator when on the ship and go together.:goodvibes

We are a family from Scilly Isles in the UK (a tiny group of islands off Cornwall) who have booked our first visit to Florida and our first cruise. There are 3 of us, mum, dad and Kenny (4) and we are really looking forward to it. Have found this site and are trying to work out what is going on - it is all a bit different to what we are used to over here!! So just thought we would get on here and join in.

:welcome:

johnna_story is the keeper of the list. If you pm her your information, she can add you to the list.

Ok, Sorry for the multiple replies, but I am replying as I read them. Let's see....

Ron; Oh my BJ, I am sorry that Ron has been having issues, but happy that he got in and that surgery went well. Great to have it during the off harvest season, so that he is ready come Early Spring. Happy it all went well... I will pray that he is 100% by the cruise so that he can give us a great performance; when we make him go to the stage.... :thumbsup2

D; I thought the dress for the wedding was AMAZING... You looked beautiful. So it would be amazing for you to wear it again. Tell Russ you are going on another cruise to get a least another wearing out of the dress. See I sometimes use that one for DH. I do not htink it works though. Told him we needed to go to a formal event so I could used a particular dress again.:rotfl2:

Our thread name.... Yes, I think I came up with it. It was because as BJ said... SHE gets everyone hooked on those darn Bushwackers. But yes so YUMMMMY.... The Wild Wild Westerners was because we usually take the Eastern but I asked these guys if we could go Western this time and they were soooo gracious to say YES!:worship: I suggested "Westerners" because Lady Story really has a hard time with grammar errors and I wanted to see if "Westerners" was acceptable.:lmao: She hates that I do not spell check.:upsidedow

Our accident: It was really really bad; but we have no complaints. We are blessed to be alive. The guy who hit us head on; crossing into our lane died. Since we are walking & talking we are blessed. Our car did not even flip when it went into the ditch! I was the passenger but got really banged up. Again; we are only counting our blessings and just now wantint our bodies to get back to normal... So thank you all for your concern and now even more reason to party on the "BOAT". By then I will be off pain pills and can have all the Bushwackers BJ will feed me.:lmao:

Hey BJ; do you still have that Gloria link and Village People link so the others can see the entertainment aboard the Magic....:happytv:

Tux; well the guys in the Tink Family are not very Tinky....:lmao: So we have to buy our stuff here on land as they do not carry the sizes of my boys. Since I have a BIG issue with how people dress for dinner; my boys do always dress. I :upsidedow about jeans or shorts at dinner. We do dress each night. Not trying to be :snooty: just something we do.

Welcome to our New Family across the vast pond. I see you are posting right as I am. It is good to have you. Thanks for making your first post here on our family thread.... I have been telling my DH; we may have to consider moving to the land of Wil & Kate!

Just looked at the new list, and boy, do we have a bunch of neighbors in the 7000 block of rooms! I count at least 7 of us..

We are on 7!

Tinker, so glad you guys are ok! Bushwackers sound delish...and I'm thinking Eastern is on the schedule in the next couple of years!

So glad we will be dressing appropriately for dinner at least on formal night! Staying home with our girls, most of what I have are tshirts/shorts/jeans. I did get a couple of dresses, though!

Our countdown chain is getting shorter! :cheer2:

Been away from the boards for a couple of months...year end/begin is always a crazy time for me at work. I'm hoping that this coming week is the turning point!!

We are getting very excited about the cruise! We still have not booked any excusrions yet. :scared1: Hopefully I can spend some time this weekend to see what's still available. I know my DD would love to swim with the dolphins....I guess we'll see...

Scanned the last serveral pages of posts - welcome to all of our new cruise buddies!!

Welcome to our new cruiser's and welcome back to the MIA cruisers as well :lmao:

I myself was a little MIA over the holidays :)

From the sounds of it, the bars better be WELL stocked for Bushwackers.. the bartenders are going to be wondering what is up with the demand on bushwackers...
Little will they know that "The Bushwacker Wild Westerner's" have taken over the ship (or at least the bars) :lmao::lmao:

Well the night has found the ejkj family with a house FUll of girls:scared1: Kaylee is celebrating her 14th birthday with 12 (yes 12, ) of her closest friends, they are here for a sleepover!!!! SO far so good...it really isn't that bad, they are downstairs and we can hardly hear them..hope that holds true at 3:00 in the morning..(the part that we can't hear them LOL!!!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

How exciting!!!!! :cool1:
And yes, it can all be a bit overwhelming, so just ask away.

After all, we all had our first cruise at one point or other, and know, that no question is a dumb one if you don't know what the answer is;)

Glad you found us :flower3:

They do keep some reservations open I believe, for those who do not book online..

just try to be one of the first to board (get to the terminal early for one of the first boarding passes) and then I think they have a table set up in one of the bars that you can book Palo's..(ask for sure at the terminal when you check in for exact location)..but like I said, you do need to get there early cuz they fill up fast...

Good Luck :flower3:, I really hope you can get a reservation

Hi, Scillycruisers-Glad to see you found us! We are looking forward to meeting you all! Is this your first cruise? We will have a 4 year old in our party, as well. Maybe we can introduce them! She is pretty shy!

Well, if you have any questions, ask away! This is a pretty good group! My other half, Cyndi-Rella is on here way more than I am so she will see your question!

Only 40 something more days!!!!
