March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you all have a great weekend. :cool1:

Ciao for now... Johnna

Hey all!

Thought I better check in and make sure no one is going too "HOG WILD" ;) while I've been away!

As those of you on FB know, I had a great trip to visit my daughter, Kristin, who moved to Idaho last June, after a stressful trip there due to bad weather in Las Vegas of all places. Went skiing for the first (and probably last) time. It was fun and didn't break any bones :cool1: :lmao: but I prefer warm weather sports. I hear Castaway Cay calling my name. :beach:

Got home Tuesday night, caught up on appointments, farm bookkeeping, and laundry :laundy: and my contractor called Friday to say they could start Phase II of my remodeling project. So I have spent the weekend boxing up things in my kitchen cabinets. No cooking for me for awhile. Darn the bad luck!!!!!

Well guess we're going to a basketball game tonight. My nephew coaches a high school girl's team that is playing for first in their conference tournament. All of you with kids playing basketball, or dance, or whatever, ENJOY every minute. They grow up too fast!!!!!

Stay warm everyone!

Donna

Computer is fix and fix for free!! Got to save the dead men for Mickey.;)

I do NOT know how you guess stay all this snow and I'm sure what we got ( 7-10 inches ) is nothing to what you guys get. I'm going stir crazy!:crazy2:

I played in the snow for about a half an hour and my ears where frozen. Called my brother ( whole family lives in Florida ) he was in shorts and a tee shirt. Temps there 70!

Donna,

Glad you had a super trip, sking scares the me to death. Love the little bit of water sking I've done but snow sking, :scared1::scared1:

Back to helping my SIL plan her WDW trip.:scared1:

Michelle

help me all I see is white stuff!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle, 7-10 inches in North Carolina???? :scared1: Do you live near the mountains? We only got 1 1/2 inches in Missouri last night. It just seems like this winter has been sooooooo long. It seems like winter started in October because it was so damp and rainy, and then it got really cold the first 10 days of January....I am so ready for spring.

Well, my nephew's team lost. It was a good game though as the final score was 44-41.

:wave2:

Donna,

We live north of Charlotte. That stinks about your nephew's team, from the score it looks like it was a good game.

I love Facebook, I just found a cousin I haven't talk to since we where kids and a really good friend from collage.

I'm going to pay for being up so late but sometimes it stinks to have to go to bed before your ten year old.

Well I guess I'll turn in, I can not stop yawning. We are having a surprise party for Madison tomorrow, to celebrate what a great job she done in basketball. They are done with their season, next is the tournments. Wish her luck.

Goodnight.........

Michelle

Donna - so glad you had a nice visit with Kristin. I'm with you on the snow skiing thing - I've gone a couple of times and just hate it. I too am much more of a beach person than a snow person. :thumbsup2

We got about 6 inches of snow on Saturday - in about 6 hours. It snowed from about 11 -5; the forecast was for 1-3 on Friday night, but of course... the weather predictions were incorrect. I know that's shocking. But it was fine. The kids barely wanted anything to do with it. I think after the 2 feet we had last month, they were over it.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually getting used to the snow. Or maybe I'm just not complaining as much b/c no one really cares anyway. I always joke this time of year that I'm moving someplace warm - like St. Thomas or Puerto Rico - but I love my life here and just can't imagine being anywhere else. Except for a week every two years with Mickey and my friends!!

Happy Monday - hope everyone's week is off to a great start!!

Ciao for now, Johnna

Ciao for now, Johnna

Thanks, Johnna! We did have a good time but now I don't get to see her until the end of March.:sad::sad:

You have had a lot of snow in DC this year, haven't you? Our winter has been mostly cold and damp with chances of snow off and on. So far, we haven't gotten more than 2-4 inches at a time. Of course, they are calling for more snow tomorrow and again on Monday. I hope the forecasters are wrong and we don't get any. :woohoo: Of course, with my luck, it will go the other way and we'll have twice as much as they think. :scared1::scared1:

I do have another trip to look forward to as my DIL and I are going to Florida the first week in March. I'm already praying for warm and sunny weather!!!!!! I'll need a vacation after tax season and kitchen remodeling. :lmao:

Have a good night everyone!!!!

You have had a lot of snow in DC this year, haven't you?

This is what I would call an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! :rotfl2:

Two feet in December, about 6 inches last weekend, couple of inches on Tuesday night, and TWO MORE FEET COMING TODAY/TOMORROW!!! :scared1::scared1:

It's a recordbreaking winter. Luckily it only happens once every 15 or so years... otherwise I'd be living in the Caribbean somewhere. :woohoo:

I'll be updating regularly on FB - stay tuned....

Ciao for now... J

OH MY GOSH, TWO FEET!!! How depressing. :sad1:

Well, if it makes you feel any better, we are getting snow today too. Supposedly only 2-5 inches....we'll see...what do forecasters really know...:confused3

I like the snow on Castaway Cay better than this. :rotfl: :rotfl:

They just updated our storm warning - to 20-30 inches.

Could be a long cooped-up weekend...:sad2:

Just want you all to know it's been nice knowing you.

I'm pretty sure we'll never get out from under all this snow. And there's more to come until midnight tonight.

Oh how I wish we were on the cruise this week.:sad2:

Ok, let me try to catch up from memory..... We will see how that goes...

BJ.... I am happy you got Lady Story's Hog comment; but I do not think wheat can go hog wild can it?:confused3:lmao:
Amy.... Getting ready to use our Purple plates tomorrow while cheering for you.. It has been an interesting week texting with my New Orleans relatives.. Sounds as if everyone is going crazy there. We have not been there for about 14 years.... We need to go. Still cheering for you tomorrow though.
D..... I am so happy you had a great time with Kris. Sorry about the Super Lay Over..... I am happy this time What Happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas... It is so nice to see your pictures. I have to comment on your stuff more often so that you are on my active feed thread... Sorry about the game, but happy you were able to go and support them. That means a lot to the kids.
Michelle...... Just wait; as basketball evolves with your DD she will have even more fun... She has to mail my DS and tell him she is playing. I am thinking about letting him have a FB account, so maybe she can too.
Lady Story..... That "SNOWtf" is crazy. I just saw some pictures my cousin posted on FB.... Just to put it straight.... My PRESIDENT did not bring that with him..... He may be after change, but not that kind of change.... He has no stock in TP in Washington DC.:lmao: (Yes I claimed him)...;) I know you guys are not able to deal with such large levels... Can you imagine how your neighbors will drive now. You should take pictures and post one here. Get out the yard stick....
All..... I am needing this vacation to come a bit sooner.... I know we have others planned before that, but this one we are looking soooo fwd to... I am off to bed. HAve BASKETBALL again early in the morning... Yes D it does go too fast, but being on the city's traveling A team is kicking my butt... You know I never got my Christmas cards off.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I've had to work all 7 days and I've got a nasty head cold!

So what do I do???????

I forget I've invited friends and family over for the super bowl, DUHHHH.:headache:

Going to pick up wings and pizza after I crash for a while.

Sorry about all the snow you guys are getting, we still have some on our deck. I'm so ready for spring. Then summer so I can complain about how hot it is.

see ya later..............

Michelle

CONGRATULATIONS AMY...... WHO DAT WHO DAT won that game?
I am happy for you and your city.... Did you see the Brett commercial?
Just checking in... Will check in tomorrow, I am off of work. Resting up for those 2 days of call I have coming up.....

Hey BJ.... Are we sending out the location crew....

Mark.... Are you stuck in the house too with your snow bunnies?

So I guess you will cancel the idea of moving closer to the Tink Family Johnna..... :goodvibes Okay Amy, welcome to the family and open the door.... All of us snow bunnies are coming your way.... You are really going to be saying "Who Dat.... Who Dat at my door now....."

We have a lot of snow too Johnna, but at least we have the trucks and salt to deal with it.... Have fun and build a couple more snow people, snow animals and forts. Grab the sand buckets and pretend you are on CC.:upsidedow

ANY LURKERS OUT THERE???? We are looking for more members to embrace....

Tink, I don't know about Johnna but I sure won't be moving to your neighborhood any time soon. :goodvibes If I move anywhere, it will be SOUTH!!!! :flower3: I cleared my sidewalks again this morning for the 4th or 5th day in a row. (See I'm going crazy with all of this snow!) :rotfl: And we only got a couple of inches each day...can't imagine what the Story's are doing in DC with a couple of FEET of snow and more on their way. :scared1:

Amy, Great game!!!!! Congrats to all you Saints fans!

BJ must be hibernating...:rolleyes1

Kitchen remodeling is continuing...sanding the drywall today. Ceilings mudded tomorrow and then they can start putting my cabinets back, installing my flooring, cabinet tops, and new kitchen island, painting, etc.....:cheer2:

Have a good day everyone! Johnna, sending pixiedust: that the snow stays away!

We're hibernating for sure. Braved the grocery store this morning - no milk, and very little produce on the shelves - including potatoes and onions!! It was crazy.

We are trying not to get on each other's nerves - this "event" is definitely trying our patience. I imagine we'll be home tomorrow again for sure, and I imagine the kids will be out all week.

Check out the pics on FB - we're making the best of it. What other choice do we have...?:sad2:

Will keep you posted... J

Thank you all for the congrats on the Saints. We live in the same neighborhood as Sean Payton, and when he came home last night, he was holding the trophy out the sun roof and letting all his neighbors touch it. We just got home from the Saints parade in downtown NO. It was such an awesome sight to see all of the players having fun with the crowds (which were CRAZY)! If anyone has ever experienced Mardi Gras down here, the past couple of weeks, and the last 2 days in particular, has been like Mardi Gras on steroids.

Johnna -- so sorry about the snow. We have seen the pictures and hope you can dig out soon. Sounds like you need to plan a trip somewhere south soon LOL.

Sitting here Friday night, feeling quite happy. After a nice steak and beers night out with friends, and now catching the tail end of the Olympic opening ceremonies! Spectacular show and enterainment...:cheer2:Go Canada Go!! :cheer2:
