March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Thanks, Michelle! We are all really excited here in NOLA. Geaux Saints! Who Dat!

Hey there! Okay - I get the "geaux" thing, but where did the "Who Dat?" thing come from? I saw lots of signs about that during the game and was wondering...:confused3

Maybe a Saints/Jets Superbowl??? :thumbsup2

Doubt it, but could happen. I don't think the Jets can get past the Colts - and think the only reason they won yesterday is b/c the Chargers kicker missed 3 field goals! But I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway!!

Ciao for now... J

Hi Everyone.... MicDay, I am here. I have just been crazy with DS's basketball. He starts for the school's team and is on the city's traveling "A Team". I tell you, between that and the babies coming into this world, I have not caught my breath.... I guess that is what we get when you make a child who at age 11 (I guess just made 12) and is 5 feet 9 inches with a size 13 shoe.... Still has not hit pubity... Every Basketball coach for miles is looking at him already. I actually think he may have even grown a few inches since last measured...

So DEAR DEAR AMY....... Do you yet feel part of the family yet ???? ;) I sure hope so..... because guess what......
We are pretty proud of those Vikings here in this part of the world... I guess I forgot it will be you v/s us in this coming game... We deserve it here in Minnesota. The city is so excited, I tell you those boys are coming with enough energy to make your dome explode.... You know we have the Metro Dome here, so we are use to that dome action... I really think you guys will be praying to the Saints when we are done with you..... As Brett Farve said yesterday.... "New Orleans is going to be walking around with pants on the ground pants on the ground.... Looking like a fool with their pants on the ground"....

GO VIKES!!!!! It is looking pretty purple here today!!!! Hey there was a guy on the news who even sprayed purple stripes down his car after the win yesterday..... Hey on the cruise, I will be sure to bring you a Vikings Super Bowl shirt...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wow, Tink I've never heard this side of you. You and my FIL would be best friends right now. James is talking about throwing him a Super Bowl party if the Vikings get in. I must stay on the fence because I think both teams (Saints and Vikings) deserve a win.

I understand about Basketball, Madison plays for her school. I do not know what you expected, your DH is not a short person by any means. As our beloved Mrs. Weasley (Harry Potter) would say "That boy looks like he had Stretching Jinxes put on him":goodvibes

Glad to see your still with us.

Johnna,

Understand about the Jets, James is a huge Dolphins fan thought. Me, love me some Bucs. Can't wait for the draft, third choice!;)

Michelle

I know, I know.... I NEVER talk sports.... But the :goodvibes is pretty catchy here... The place is so excited... I guess you can not blame us. We are so close this time... Here is the loop they keep playing here.

Did you catch the guy last week from American Idol with "Pants on the Ground"? If not, You tube that too.
I like throwing parties, so it will be a reason to party: Last time I lived in a place where the team went to the Super Bowl was Super Bowl XX.

Yikes!! Can't let us fall off page 1!!! Good save Michelle!:thumbsup2
So any fun plans for the weekend gang?
Not so much here, just going out for supper and drinks with some friends Friday night, so got the sitter all lined up and yahoo some time for adult conversations!!:drinking1
Johnna & Mark, hope you have a good time meeting up the Michael and Dave, give them a shout from all of us!
Donna, i read your FB post... who da thunk you could get delayed by bad weather in Vegas?!... Hope your connecting flight and the rest of your day was uneventful after that. Enjoy yout time with Kristen and hopefully your return flight will be more uneventful!

Thanks Wanda!:goodvibes

Madison has a basketball game tomorrow night so that's our night plans.

I just bought Madison some ribbon and barretts to do a craft this weekend with her. Plus we are going to try to make homemade V. cards. For eveyone info I am NOT a crafty person.

Get a deal, use a coupons, got it but make something, NOT. As you can tell my grammer/spelling is horrible.

I just bought tickets to the Father/ Daughter dance our city is throwing. I wish you guys live here, GIRLS Night. Dang it! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Do you want to know when you realize you have been married to long??......

When you try to book a hotel night for your family and the lady tell's you it's expensive because it's a holiday?? I asked "What Holiday, it's 2/14??"

Sad.......:upsidedow

:flower3:

Bedtime, see ya later aligator.

Thanks Wanda!:goodvibes

Wow Michelle! Who knew that the hotel industry had hopped onto the Hallmark bandwagon declaring every thing a holiday! ;)

Hope you were able to find something for your family getaway that did not break the piggy bank you are putting all your DCL pennies into! Ya know you gotta keep up with all these "wild westerners!" :drinking1

Dave and Michael are not coming to DC today - in fact, Michael is probably on the ground in Detroit as I write this. Lufthansa changed his schedule yesterday, so Dave decided to stay home in Germany rather than go to Detroit, plus ... and I quote: "Dave does NOT fly eco over oceans...!"

So we had to cancel our plans. The Storys are both REALLY bummed, as are Dave and Michael, and a friend Greg we were going to meet up with too.:sad2::sad2::sad2:

Hopefully it can be rescheduled another time soon. As I told Dave, I'm just going to save up my energy reserves for when we reschedule!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!! Johnna:banana:

Madison's b-ball game was last night and she played really well !!! I got some great pictures. Plus she made a shot!! That was her goal as she is learning how to even play basketball. It really warms your heart when they accomplish something and you are there to witness it.

Wanda,
I promise to save all my pennies for the cruise. The hotel was at our Great Wolf Lodge. Madison wants to stay there for her Birthday (March 5th) so I was comparing prices around times she was out of school. She picked that over a party, she must really want to go. That girls LOVES to have a party.

Off to go grocery shopping, yuck...

Michelle

:woohoo:Way to go Madison!!:cheer2:

@Johnna and Mark, sorry to hear that Lufthansa was so rude as to muck up your plans!! Hopefully you can reschedule soon!

Not much on the go here today, DH is doing some OT this am and the snow is falling again...UGH... snow on top of all that ice... should make for some lovely driving! Off to Costco this afternoon for the monthly load up of stuff, hope it is not too crazy in there!

Keep warm and have a super day everyone! :flower1:

I want to start by saying CONGRATULATIONS to Amy and her state of LA... Know thay we are supporting your guys as you go to FL... We will add black to our Gold... Congrats!!! We will still have a Super Bowl party though, but will have to use all of the Viking plates and napkins I bought. We will be cheering for you while we stuff our face. Know that Minnesota has the title of "Minnesota Nice." So GO SAINTS from a Minnesotan....

I got your PM... The girls will for sure be able to do that... I will email you! I told her yesterday and she is excited.

Johnna~ Bummer about M&D visiting. If you do not get a chance to reschedule, I am sure they will join us on board.
I feel your DTV pain.. I told DH once we would have to divorce if it went out during Survivor again... We have a commercial here where the couple is talking to the marriage therapist; saying they just can not live together for the lack of communication.come to find out it is for cable and the couple is divorcing over a dish. I use to have to open the window and clea She then goes on to say she is always trying to get a clear picture; come to find out it is a Cable commercial knocking the Dish. I understand... I use to have to hang out the window and clean the snow drift off the dish in the old house. lol... After moving all I have to say is we went to cable...

Michelle~Congrats to DD. Tell her my DS said Hoop Hoop:woohoo: and now they have something big time to talk about.... Now if she can get "Potter"fied; right...:lmao:

Wanda~Minnesota & Canada are too close. We keep the same weather. STOP SENDING IT down here.... Hope you did not spend too much money at Costco... Love the new avatar.

D~Sucks about the weather but sooo nice when you and Russ finally get to great weather. Never would have thought Vegas would stop ya.. Thanks for your input on our other site... Thanks for piping in.... I love nice political conversation among friends when it never gets ugly, but stays respectful...

BJ, where are you? Do we only get to talk when we call you?

I am off work tomorrow and will check in with you guys in the AM... DS has a game in the PM... Talk with ya soon...

Okay - despite my JETS loss (which I expected, but still had hope they could win anyway...) I am excited about the Superbowl. That was some game late yesterday - I couldn't believe it. I have to say that Minnesota really gave the game away with all the fumbles and interceptions...

Amy - WHO DAT?!?!? (LOVE IT!) Geaux Saints!!

MicDay - congrats on the basketball game!! My son plays too and LOVES it - his team won the other day, making them 2-1 for the season so far. DS doesn't get the ball too often - there is a superstar on the team that is usually on his string, so the kids usually give him the ball so he can make the shots. I think it's hard for the kids since they want to win and know that the superstar will score so they let him have the ball so much, but the other kids want to shoot and score too... I know they will figure it out - and the coach encourages them to play as a team and not just highlight the superstars - which really is key.

And TOO TOO funny about the "holiday" thing. :rotfl:

Wanda - so sorry about all your weather woes. I will NOT complain about our 2 feet of snow ever again. Well, maybe I will, but just not too loudly.

Donna - glad you had a good visit with Kristin! Sounds like you had a good time - I'm sure all your activities were fun, but just spending time with her must have been the highlight for you.

Okay - done for now... I think I touched on all the current events.

Except perhaps we should send out a search party for Brenda?!?!?!?!

Ciao for now... Johnna

Thought the Ejkj family had better check in..beings how it has been awhile(wink wink Tink ;))

Since I have last posted, we have managed to gain yet another teenage daughter:upsidedow Kaylee turned 13 yesterday!!!!! Hard to believe that my baby is a teenager!!!
She had a swim party at one of our hotels here in town with some of her friends..(for those of you who are her friends on facebook you can check out the pics)
She had a great time, but getting up for school today was even more of a challenge then it normally is LOL!!!! It was a BUSY weekend!!!!

Emily has been keeping busy with the danz team...but loving every minute of it!!! It really is alot of fun to go to the games and watch her perform :yay: A week ago her and her team got the opportunity to perform at halftime of the Denver Nuggets vs Utah Jazz game, so that was pretty dang exciting!!! Miss Em even managed to get a close up on T.V (ESPN)!!!!!

She has also been busy with a Interior Design project that she had been working on for FCCLA, she had her first round of competition with it a week ago today and won a gold!!! So now she gets to present it at the state level in March, she is pretty excited about it!!!! As are we :)

Ron was gone last week, as he and my brother (along with a bus load of other farmers) traveled across the state of Nebr and Iowa and into Ill. to tour the John Deere factory's in Moline Ill. He was amazed at all the technology that he got to see first hand, as well as seeing how the implement was made, he really did have allot of fun, and the fact that every night they stayed at a place that had casino's was even an extra bonus!!!!!(as if he can't lose enough money farming, he has to throw in Black Jack) LOL!!!! ;)

As for me....I am just wishing that OUR trip was THIS March!!!!! I am so excited, but hate thinking about how far off it is :sad1:
Last week we watched our WHOLE 2009 cruise that we went on with the Story's...so that didn't help, it only made us ALL want to go get our suitcases and set sail again!!!!

Dave....we are ALL SO HOPING that you and Michael will be able to join us!!!!! I was thinking that maybe Friends of Dave's could put together a tour at the ports!!!! So then you could think of it as a business trip and HAVE to go!!!! We would sign up;) Not even kidding!!!!

Okay sorry for the novel.....I guess I will have to try to post more often so the post are shorter!!!!
I do check in about every day, love to hear what everyone is up to!!!!

Hope everyone has a great week :wizard:
:love:brenda

Ciao for now... Johnna
:lmao: Johnna you can call off the search party (unless the search party is you and you end up on my door step )

I must have been writing my post the same time you were writing yours...only I am MUCH slower lol...

Sorry to all the Football fans whose teams did not win yesterday (tink and johnna)...I am not a football follower but know how disappointing it must be. BUT CONGRATULATIONS to those who's teams did win.. LadyofNawlins :cheer2: Good Luck in the SuperBowl:cheer2:

Thank you for all the well wishes. It was a great, nail-biting game against the Vikes. It was hard to root against Brett because I was born and raised in Mississippi. He did a great job! You go right ahead and use those Vikings plates for a Saints Superbowl party Tink! We need all the help we can get against those Colts!!!

It is a CRAZY Who Dat Nation down here in the South. Have a great week all!

Peyton Manning is often unstoppable... dude is pretty damn amazing. I of course will now root for the Saints. Only because I don't know anyone who really wants the Colts to win. I think they are a little overexposed... :confused3

Who DAT!! (still have no idea what it means, but when I get on a bandwagon, I'm on whole hog!)

Whole hog... that was for you farmers out there; I know you're not pig farmers, but you get it... :rotfl:

Hah... one glass of wine (working on the second) and about 10 hershey kissses later and these are the kinds of jokes you get.... Or am I the only one who thinks I'm funny???:rotfl2:

Ciao for now...
