March 2014 car rental!

I just had a $20 bid for full size accepted on Priceline. 8 days, March 25-Apr 2.
Avis. I signed up with Avis Preferred a few years ago, so that means no standing in line in Orlando. Yay! Total cost was $250 including taxes and fees. Credit card was charged immediately.
Im not sure if prices will drop lower, probably, but I was tired of waiting.

Check your Alamo rates. My week long rental Feb 28-Mar 7 just dropped to 252 all in from 349 for a Premium - almost $100 . We need a decent size car for 3 adults and 1 child w/ stroller etc. Smaller cars were less expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't go any lower than this, but I would be very happy if it did!

They haven't dropped much. Costco is still showing $437 for economy from Budget. Cheapest car from Alamo is a std at $545--the economy from Alamo is $851!!!!! They have dropped a little because when I checked yesterday the cheapest car was well over $550.

I'll keep my std for $380 right now. And keep checking!

BTW, I'm PU at MCO/ drop off at TPA

MCO rentals haven't dropped much , but I just booked a mid size from Alamo at TPA (Tampa ), for $164.14 out the door a couple of days ago, using Alamo Insiders.

Hey, it's still January (although not for long). The fun doesn't begin until about 3 and usually closer to two weeks out. I've been doing the March trip for the past several years and they consistently go down. Patience...

I did get Thrifty for $177/wk base price starting Mar. 11 for 3 weeks. Alamo is still showing $249/wk base for that time.

That is defintely NYOP since regular price is over $500 for those dates for a premium. You normally save 50% with NYOP. I got a fullsize for $221 for 8 days during the christmas holidays and the best rate I could find was over $400.

Keep watching your rates. Dollar last Sat had rates of $8.80 per day for all the cars. Got my April rental for $69.46 total for 6 days with my AAA code of tb7131! So don't give up the hunt.

Its the Ohio AAA.. Do a google search for Dollar aaa code and you will see a list for different states.

Dollar rates are supper cheap. I just go a car for $7.00 a day. Google search for Dollar AAA codes too. It took a 1.00 per day off the car rate!

What are your dates? I'm not seeing anything below $231 base for a week. March 7 - 14. Also saw where you posted the same message on the June car rate thread.

I see those rates low like that in April! I have my fingers crossed that I wake up tomorrow and March is like that too! For my exact dates would be wonderful! LOL Wishful thinking can't hurt, right!
