March 2013 Discounts

Well, I had FD booked in December and we might have to move the trip to Spring Break. Hoping they release some sort of a discount! At this point it will cost more to stay in a Value in March/April than it would have to stay at a Moderate in December. Sucks. And I have to move the flights, so that's $$$. See me banging my head on the desk and praying.

I hear ya. We had F/D booked for Xmas, but as it turns out, we couldn't get off of work. So, I just purchased airfare for Spring Break, 3/21-3/31, paid more than I wanted to for that, but didn't want to chance it going any higher. I will feel a lot better about the price of airfare if I get some type of discount from Disney!!

Just booked for March 2-9 at Art of Animation with dining. Fingers and toes crossed for free dining! Went ahead and booked since in two days it's time to start making those ADRs! Online chat Disney person had good advice and said

ME: if i book a room only now, i can later call and add tickets and dining if i decide to do that right?

Disney Rep: That is correct, however, I recommend adding at least 1 day base ticket to make a package. For a room only reservation the agent has to cancel your existing reservation and book a package. You may not find availability for your resort and room type when you decide to modify.

Just thought I would share if that helps anyone on decision making.

well our trip is booked with dining as well since our ADR date was today we had to go ahead and book it. I just finished making all our ADR's but now is just wait and worry that a free dining offer will come out for our dates or maybe a free dining pin code. otherwise i will be canceling some ADR's
Seems like some think they wont release anything for 2013 till the current offer expires on sept 29th. I just hope they hurry up.

Evertime someone books a vacation it reduces the chances of FD or any other discounts. You could have made ADRs without booking.

well we are going even if no free dining offer is announced it will just be without the dining plan but for the same dates. Since we want a certain resort and certain room type we felt we needed to go ahead and book it. Our dates arent flexible for that month at all. We will do an october 2013 trip maybe for free dining if its offered then if we have to go in march without it.

I always think this too. I make my ADR's in a couple of weeks and I will just do the day by day booking, because we don't need to book any "hard to get" ADR'S. BUT, if I don't hear anything by early Oct., I am going to see if I can at least snag a AAA discount for my dates.

If a discount is not released by end of next week, I am going to book. I want to make sure I get the resort/view I want and certain dining reservations so I get the time I want. My flights are already booked so dates are set.

Last year was the first time we had the dining plan so if we don't get it, I'll order extra food from GardenGrocer and eat more quick service to keep in budget. If something does come out, then I'll call back to apply the discount.

Still hoping for a discount but it won't ruin my vacation if there is not one .

We are booked for 3/6th - 3/16th. Have our flights booked too. Would be nice to get a discount of some sort.

I just booked my hard to get ADRs like BOG and Rose & Crown for my 3/2 trip.
I have a good hunch that free dining or a room discount will be released at the end of this month.
We will still go even without a discount but we will be bringing a lot of granola bars and will avoid all those cute Disney shops!

I just called for information on my dates and didn't learn anything new.

No AAA discount left for standard rooms at AoA for my dates

Dates: March 8-17

Room only:

AoA was $1653.75

Pop was $1442.81

Just waiting for a discount or FD!!

I just booked our trip for March 21-30 at Beach Club . I went on Disney's website to price things out more and noticed that at Beach Club for my dates, I couldn't select a "Standard" room anymore. My only options were Pool/Lagoon or Club levels. So I did an instant chat with a rep and she said that there were no "standard" rooms available for my dates. I really wanted Beach Club this time because my kids would LOVE the pool.

As I know everyone would want me to do I asked if she knew of any Spring discounts and I got the typcical scripted line, discounts are "random". BUT she was nice enough to say that if a discount does come up to call back and have it applied to my reservation .

So let's keep home hoping for some type of discount .

Yah! Beach Club with a water view. You will have a great time! I was torn between Beach Club and Polynesian but I ended up booking the Poly, I just love that place!
Since we booked Deluxe we are gonna need all the pixie dust we can get!
I'm hoping for free dining since it looks like 40 percent discounts are a thing of the past.

I'm starting to think November might be right because don't people start getting PIN codes about a month before offers go public? And I haven't heard of anyone getting a code for Jan-Mar, has anyone else?

Or maybe an AP discount. I don't like playing the waiting game!

In any event, I started making ADRs yesterday! Decided to do 50's prime time for my 21 birthday dinner! woo! (I really wanted flying fish, but couldn't justify the prices since we'll be paying OOP w/ TiW)
