March 2010 Rental thread?

I see an "official" thread for January, February and April. Is there one for March?

We are headed to WDW March 13-21 and currently have a midsize with National (Emerald Aisle) for $390. Obviously, I am hoping that comes WAY down soon. I haven't seen many coupons that cover March either.

I am also going this March and I am coming up with the same thing. Try Thrifty and use the corporate code#004M001010 this will give you an additional driver at no extra cost, unlimited miles. You might want to go to the web site OrlandoInfo, click on the Magiccard, and download one. They have never asked for it and I have used that code about 7 times, but I always have it because the one time I don't they will ask. Thrifty by far has been pretty low. Also try Budget and Enterpirse. Go to Mousesavers.com and check out all the rental coders they give and plug away. Hope this helps and good luck))

Almost all the coupon codes (as opposed to rate codes) listed on Mousesavers seem to expire either at the end of January or the end of February, so maybe once we get into February there will be some coupon codes valid for March.

Try Dollar, we booked yesterday for a midsize for 8 days at TPA for $246, and that includes taxes

I'm on the lookout as well. I need 2 cars, 1 from 3/20-3/28 and 1 from 3/20-3/29. Awhile back I saw Thrifty had their 'wild card' cars available for around $250 for the 8 day rental and $280 for the 9 day. (Including taxes and fees) Not horrible, but certainly more than the $147 I spent on a midsize 10 day rental back in 2007. (I know, a lot has changed since then.) I think the coupon codes came out earlier then as well, I know I had my car booked in January last trip. *sigh*

Use Costco code 7014627 and Coupon AD2123JMC with Alamo and total for midsize is $228.09 and includes free additional driver.

I have a car booked the same week. With Costco (go through their website) it actually had a LOWER weekly rate if I put in the 13th to the 21st than if it were through the 20th. Since we are flying in early and out late, we needed the extra day anyway. Total with taxes was $234.90. ALAMO

We ended up renting from Alamo our last trip and it was the same way--added a day onto our trip to get better flight prices and our car rental rate went down. Nice surprise!

I booked with National out of Tampa airport. I used the Continental code from Mousesavers and a coupon from the Entertainment book. My car is March 27 - april 3 -- $190 with taxes.

We like to stay with National since our Exec status is good thru 2/28/10.
I used 6100120 AARP code and ND1881JDK $40 coupon.
2/27 thur 3/5/10. Pick up at MCO, return to Disney CCC. $211.48 for midsize executive aisle. I expect it to go down more as we get closer to pickup date.

Its the $40 WEB coupon from December 2009 Emerald Club newsletter.
It now works for 2010 rentals.

We also prefer to use National. With the Wal-Mart code (5000304) and the coupon code from a few posts above, my $390 car rental is now $250! I expect it to go down closer to the trip. That's what happened this past December.

I wouldn't worry about using it with no membership because in the many times I have rented they have never asked for proof of membership. You can sign up for Fastbreak and all you do is show your driver's licence on the way out of the garage.

I am not sure if anyone is looking for mini vans but Dollar has a special on for $44.99/day for a mini van. The code is from their website, 2COM2 and valid until March 31.
