March 20, 2010*** Mickey's Magic Matey's Cruise the Western!***

I just asked my DD what was the first thing she wanted to do when we get on the ship. She said go to the kids club and eat lots of pizza. :goodvibes

Our kids were the same. We had to drag them out of the kids club. They would have stayed from 9am to midnight. This time I think we are going to take them up on it.

Wow! I glanced at my kids cruise calendar countdown this morning, about 37days to go : ) How exciting is that?? We just had a few snow days, so I spent a lot of time finishing up my FE's and trying to organize for the gift exchange. I got pirate costumes, formals, and semi-formal night taken care of I think. I just need to make sure my kids can still fit in some of their summer clothes from last year??? I always get a little stressed when I think about packing-afraid that I am going to forget something :confused3

Is is ok for the adults to dress up as pirates too? My husband I have costumes from this past Halloween.

We are dressing up, because the kids want us too. Plus I think it is fun (my husband is not as excited :sad2: but he is a good sport) I know several adults dress up from all the pics I have seen posted on the disboards too. I am sure some people participate and some don't, just like with anything else.

Me, grandpa (my dad) and my daughter are dressing up too. Just like Michelle's husband, my dad is willing to be a good sport about it because my daughter is so into it. I've been buying stuff all year long when I found a good deal. My local Dollar Store had lots of good stuff - eye patches, swords, fake hook hand. Walmart had $1 skull and crossbones bandanas. My outfit isn't that great because I wasn't willing to spend much money on it. But it's the fun that counts and I can't wait to get pictures of the three of us. I suspect we'd be more likely to be thrown overboard from the Flying Dutchman but we are going to go for it anyway.

Those of you battling snow, it's almost cruise time! And how crazy would you be this week worried about flight cancellations? I'm glad we are going in March.

Thank you for letting me know it's ok to dress up. I will let my husband know to have his pirate outfit ready to be packed. My girls will probably not go for it.
Glad our trip was not during this snow too! Let's keep our fingers crossed that March will have good weather and no reason for flight problems!!

Yep! Our kids, too! They gave us the pager and we waited and waited to get paged. . .never happened:laughing: They are so excited to go at it again. . .it's been 3 years so it will be different for them this time!

We have gotten so much snow and I too, have been thinking how grateful I am not to be trying to leave right now! I think we all made a great decision to go at the end of March :goodvibes

Hey Everyone! We just booked this cruise today last minute and are very excited! :woohoo: It is me, my DH, DS(10) and DD (7).

We have cruised on the Magic before and were considering the Wonder 4 night for a different experience. But the 7 night ended up being not much of a difference in price. Hope we don't regret not getting to experience cruising on the Wonder.:confused3

The last time we sailed we were on the Wonder. Are there things specific to the Magic that you did last time that you really enjoyed? Galley Tour, Character Breakfast, Tea with Alice? Maybe some other things? I know there are many things the same, but some extra opportunities on the Magic! Just wondering since our kids are the same ages, even though DD and DS are reversed! :)

Since we were only on for 3 nights last time, it's hard to even imagine getting 4 more nights to explore and have fun:yay:

when we cruised on Magic in Oct 08; all three of us dressed as pirates and we had a ball. one thing to remember--no one remembers what you looked like on the next day unless they take pictures LOL. HAVE A BLAST AS WE WILL

Whew hoo and a big banana dance! We got our cruise documents today. Anyone else?

This is my first Disney cruise and I can't believe how nice the book is - I'm already impressed!

We haven't sailed the Wonder, so it's hard to compare.....we really enjoyed the character breakfast and DD7 loved the Tea with Alice, which she wants to do again. There just always seemed to be something going on that the kids wanted to attend in the clubs which was great for the at sea days. DD7also enjoyed the character visits/activities at the club and was always excited to show us the projects she had created. At the end of the week they had a kids show on stage with Mickey and Minnie for all of the kids who had participated in the clubs. Do they do that on the 4 day?

Hey Wegs; we got our documents from DCL thursday too. on weds we got our luggage tags for airport to bay lake towers. so we are ready to go. cant wait to meet you all.

We have only been on the 3 nighter and yes, they did do the kids show on the last day. It's so hard to imagine getting those extra days because we had soooo much fun when it was just the 3 days. . .the kids are so excited to get more days in the kids clubs! It's great to hear you enjoyed those things because we are excited for the few extra perks. I was just reading a thread about peoples opinions regarding the Wonder's shorter cruises compared to the Magic's longer cruises and how the Magic just seems like a better experience all around. We enjoyed the 3 nights so much, it's so exciting to know that this will be even better! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Mine didn't come yesterday, I'm going to run out to the mailbox now! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mine came yesterday. My husband looked it over and was so excited to read our itinerary. Then when he got to Castaway Cay he was sad. He said he was already sad thinking about leaving Castaway Cay and coming home.

We got our docs in the mail yesterday. I was surprised they came so fast. The time is going by so quickly!

Everything looked great and ready to roll...:woohoo:

I can't wait to get ours. We have to go pick them up at the TA. We did get our flight info already which I was nervous about. We fly out at 8:05 on Saturday morning with no stops, so that isn't so bad. The way home we do have one lay over in ATL so we don't get home until later. Could be worse though. I am getting very excited!

Angela (Wegs3000) and I have been trying to make sure the FE gift exchange list is up-to date. If there are any errors please let us know, because it was unintentional. Thanks!!

Michelle and Angela,
Sorry that it's taken me so long to respond with our stateroom for the FE. We've had a very difficult three weeks that could threaten our cruise plans but we're pushing on with high hopes that everything will be fine. Our DS(2) will need a major surgery on 3/3/10. Our upmost concern is about his health but the doctors are telling us that he will be fine to go on the cruise. We're looking forward to the cruise and hope all of our worries are behind us at that point.

Thanks for coordinating the FE and initiating the forum. Looking forward to meeting all of you! We're in stateroom 7098 and are scheduled for early dining.

Brenda

Brenda I hope all is well!

Sorry about that Darlene, I wonder if that is an old list because I've got you down?? Don't know what happened, but that is why we post it- so others can catch our mistakes :)

Don't forget the cut off to join in the FE gift exchange is the 20th!!! Which is this week already! Yeah! Magic here we come!

Brenda-
All good juju going your way. You all will deserve and enjoy this vacation so hang in there!

You have the best user name...hot diggity indeed.
