March 18, 2012 Spring Break on the Dream

Yay! So excited to find others on this cruise! I posted on Cruise Critic and heard nothing but crickets over there! This will be our first Disney cruise but we've been on lots of other cruise lines.

Our group is my mom, my brother and my two kids (they'll be 8 (daughter) and 3 (son)). My dad and husband have to stay home and work.

We're also traveling with a large group of friends. I think there will be 9 adults in all and 9 kids!

I'm open to the FE but know nothing about it. Fill me in!!! I am SO excited about this trip!!!!

Checking back in. We have an upcoming Christmas cruise on the Wonder but our first ever DREAM cruise is in the back of my mind! We even got our airlines already. I am really excited to try our first ever Dream cruise! I just hope to see a stateroom report on our room sometime before we go. We booked at Cat 11 room- and are stuck with it since we are on a b2b and really don't want to have to move rooms.

I'm excited to try Remy! My DH is less thrilled but I think I will drag him along and we'll see how it goes. I have read nothing but rave reviews of it.

I've thought of this cruise every day for the past two weeks. Flights, FE Gifts, transfers......So I came to the DIS boards for a little Disney Cruise fix!

I have updated the folks onboard...if I in my hurry to get that updated missed anyone, please let me know.

I run my own business and have 3 kids. The pace of life has been frantic lately -- reall looking forward to the cruise.

Thanks poohfriend! Just checked and I can't wait. It says my son will be 5 and he's actually only 3. I don't think it makes a difference but just in case. Hoping to start an official countdown with my kids January 1st!!! Yipee!!!

We're also coming along! We're repeating last year's 4 night Dream Cruise and we expect to enjoy it even more...now that we know how much fun cruising can be! We'll also be on Deck 8 (in a Deluxe Family Oceanview w/Verandah), but ours will be handicapped accessible. One of our twin boys has cerebral palsy and having the room for him to be able to use his walker/wheechair to get around the cabin was great. Because they have each other, they really weren't interested in the kids club, but maybe that will change this year.

What's new this year is that DH's parents are coming too! Unfortunately, we booked them too late to get the connecting room (and we are very limited by the number of HA cabins). We can't move because our son needs the HA cabin for sure. We could connect if we could swap HA cabins with our neighbours but we can't expect DCL to contact other passengers and ask them to swap. So...the grandparents will be down the hall a little way. Still, it will be great to have them along, and I'm hoping to have a little more downtime.

We're celebrating too, on several fronts: the boys' 13th , our own 22nd anniversary (because we don't do things on the "big" ones, and my FIL's terrific recovery from a cerebral hemorrhage this spring - you simply wouldn't know what happened, he's doing so well.

We're trying to make plans for before/after the cruise, but for the first time, we're shying away from the cost of Disney resorts. Waaagh! I'll miss staying on Disney property if that's what we decide.

So, I have a question for everyone. (And yes, I know this thread is not getting a lot of activity so there's not a rush to answer!)

I am a travel agent and have many families on this particular sailing. I'd like to get them something more personal than an onboard credit. Any suggestions?

Going to somehow use the cruise as a Christmas gift...working on options.

I can't believe it's less than 100 days! We are SO excited! When we get a little closer, will there be a "final" list of who will be participating in the FE exchange? After the holidays I want to start gathering stuff but I want to wait until I have a general idea of how many people are participating. This will be our first Disney cruise so I'm not sure how it all works but I am so excited! Can't wait!!!

We've been looking at the Dolphin Encounter at Nassau and the Stingray adventure on Castaway Cay. The other idea we have played with is Atlantis. We just enjoy hanging out so much that I'm not sure we need to do anything on this cruise at all.
