March 18, 2012 Spring Break on the Dream

GatorandNole-
I see from your location that you are in Tallahassee... does your screen name mean you are a Gator AND a Seminole household?? If so I cannot imagine football season over there...!

Yes I am a Gator and hubby is a Nole. It is not a problem for us. Marriage is more important than football but we are huge fans. Since we live here I do go to the Seminole sports with him and the girls but I do bleed orange and blue.

ROFL! My grandmother was a Nole- the very last class when it was still Florida State Women's College. She was a diehard fan! She gave my brother (a 'Cane) a lot of grief- but definitely aligned with my parents against UF- my parents are LSU alums and, like many of the crazy SEC families, have an entire room in the house devoted to the Tigers!

I, however, went to a college with no football team. :sad2: I am sure you have a lot of fun going to all the games in Tallahassee!

Our group is steadily growing. So excited about our Spring Break Cruise. My kids really wish we could be on the Dream before next March...but the prices have skyrocketed!

We will be cruising this week too!! Myself, DH, DS(9), & DD(6). This will be our 1st DCL cruise...kids 1st cruise ever!

SO excited!!!!

Welcome to the thread. I think we will have a good size group for this cruise.
We are trying to add another cruise on the Dream before this one but it is sold out. Our travel agent will let us know if there is a cancellation for the New Years Cruise. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary. We may have to wait and do it for the 11 year.

How many rooms and family are traveling with you? We will have one room on deck 10 Me, my DH, and 3DDs. They will be 9, 7 and 6 at sailing. Looking forward to more Aquaduck time and the detective mystery game.

My oldest daughter will be 7 1/2 during this cruise! Looks like we joined DVC the same year! We joined during our 1 year anniversary trip to Disney! We live in Palm Beach County so we try to go to Disney about once a month. What about you?

Woohoo! I bet your kids and YOU will love it!! Plus, the kids clubs on the Dream look AMAZING! My kids wish they were smaller again and could go in those clubs.

Of course, they wish we were taking them on the Dream, period...:rotfl:

On my recent Wonder cruise, I went to Wavebands to check on dining when we boarded. I had requested our favorite server ever, Louis from India- only to be told he's now on the Dream!! Boy am I hoping he will still be on there next March. We've never had a bad server at all- but nobody compares to Louis! My whole extended family still talks about Louis. :thumbsup2

Christine

We went on the Wonder in 2009 and enjoyed it, but vowed we would wait until our youngest was 3 (so we did not have to do the nursery) before we would go again. The kids wanted to go this summer, but we opted for a week at Disney instead.

I wish we had done DCL when ours were smaller. They've gone to DLR since they were babies. DD's first WDW trip was when she was a year old :cloud9:- she's now 14. DS's first WDW trip was when he was three. We didn't do DCL until they were 8 and 11- great ages- but boy, they really would have loved the clubs and the princess and pirate dress ups when they were smaller. DD always looks longingly at the little girls in their princess dresses on Formal Night, and says "how fun for them..."!

My middle daughter will be 7 1/2 for the cruise while the bookends will be 6 and 9. We go to Disney in January for the long marathon weekend. That is a recurring trip. Otherwise we have gone for Thanksgiving, October for races, and I go for a girls' weekend for the Princess Half Marathon. We don't like to go when it is too hot. Our passes expired in January and we are trying to take a break until next year but not sure we will be able to hold out when the fall weather arrives. We love DVC and we have the THV booked for January and for March before and after the cruise. We joined DVC after our oldest was born. A family friend works for DVC and she was describing it to us when we visited for Braves Spring Training. We were hooked and joined after that trip at Beach Club. As the family has grown, we added more points at Saratoga Springs.

322 days until we cruise! Has anyone brunched at Palo? We have only dined there. I'd love to hear about the brunch.

My wife and I loved brunch. In fact we liked it more than dinner, if that's even possible. So many choices.

Hello from Holland. Mom (Jozephine 77yrs) and I (Monique 42yrs) are going on our very first cruise!! We are very very excited and can't wait! We booked an inside room. Now all we have to do is wait patiently ahummmm till it is time!!

Hi Gator, we would love to participate in the FE. This is our first time so we have no idea what to expect but it sounds so much fun. Is it ok to bring little Dutch things or should we make things ourselves? :)

Hello...It's been a few months since I posted so I thought I'd check in again and no one has been here since July!! Is anyone out there :surfweb:

193 days until the cruise!!

We have had a busy summer and back to school. Things are getting back into a routine and I hope to have more time to post. I am looking at getting new pirate costumes for the girls since Halloween is hitting the stores. They love pirate night on the cruise! They just got black boots for the fall and winter weather and my oldest said the boots are perfect for pirate night. Starting to think about FE gifts too.

Hi DisneyHolland, Bringing little things from Holland would be very cool IMO. FE gifts do not need to be hand made. We received store bought items and I know some people like to bring items that are associated with their hometown.
